Boosted Lights and New Wheels: Exclusive Review of Boosted's First Accessories

Boosted finally makes accessories! The 105s are Boosted's first set of big wheels and the Boosted Beams are a set of lights that directly connect to the board using the ports at the nose and rear of the board. Interestingly, there's a USB-C charging port in the headlights for charging your phone or controller on the go.

Sam Sheffer Not things like led lights that I can DIY, but accessories like extra tubes, tires, battery of course, spare calipers for the disc breaks and even an airless tire that have the feature your new 105s have. I’ve seen a scooter with puncture proof tires like that. Sounds like my wish list airs more towards spare parts than accessories. A big fan bro, love your reviews. Peace!

Props to the helmet message. I've been Boostedboarding for 3 years with no crashes. Last month, I hopped on my friend's son's non-EV push scooter. The front wheel jammed in a crevice of the parking lot and sent me over the handle bars while I was going 1-2 mph. I'm definitely glad I was wearing my helmet.

Hey Sam, thanks for the great content! I have a couple of follow up questions that could work for a follow-up video on the accessories. It would be nice to see how the lights and the strength of the lights compare to shredlights, given that most boarders likely have a pair of those. I would also enjoy seeing how and if the new wheels work on the mini series. I have a mini X due to the lower price and additional maneuverability, but those wheels look sick and have to feel like riding on clouds

I wish they made new wheels with the squishy holes for the Mini-X. That thing takes a bit of a toll on my knees without having any board flex. It's not killing me, but a little relief might be nice. Hi Sam, I’m looking to get 105s on my mini. Boosted recommends that you tighten trucks to prevent wheel bite. Or possibly add risers. Would that work or will wheel bite still occur?

risers will help with clearance but having risers and bigger wheels your gunna be significantly higher off the ground.

I know the mini x with the 105s suffers from wheel bite with standard risers but the mini would benefit from the 105s the most. I've had my Mini X thrown out into the middle of the road because I hit a double manhole cover on Regent Street in London. Having 105s on the Mini X would make riding on bumpy London roads that must easier.

Riding through NYC the Stealth’s mode 5 acceleration is clutch for me. It’s super beneficial coming out of red lights, navigating through traffic, passing bikes, or putting some safety distance by accelerating. Using the Boosted 105s does it feel like using one of the lower riding modes in terms of acceleration?

Watched the video all the way to the end, Helmets for sure, I was just in my first boosted board accident Vs. a van. Had the Cags pinning the remote (going about 22mph) and a van floored it after barely stopping of his stop sign as I was approaching through an intersection (I had right of way up until he wasn’t looking and going straight across in front of me) I basically t boned the front right hood. I’m fine, got lucky, This all happened in broad daylight (so lights wouldn’t have helped in this situation) but I’m worried about braking distances in emergencies. I think in a future video it needs to be addressed how quick can someone stop on a board (bro that video could be really good and fun to watch, testing out the braking distances between 80mm, 85mm and 105s) you’ve ridden a lot of miles, how many feet does it take to slow down to a stop when going full speed? Please please please make a video like that! Maybe boosted can give their feedback too! I might email them about that just to ask! Great video man, really was looking forward to a review on the wheels and lights and you nailed it!

The lights are great! 👍 105's are too big and I live in Los Angeles. I Suggest Ollin Popoca 90mm wheels. Best wheels for size/speed/breaking combo.

Very interested in the 105s, but what kind of battery hit have you noticed? I ride a Stealth in MPLS. Modes 2 and 3 can get me to work at my 8-9 mile distance on the stock 85s. Do you think the 105s would be pushing it?

Really informative video! Studio's looking nice as well. I was criticized a lot when I got the V2 2 years ago about not protecting at least the tail of the deck with some sort of guard (which I promptly got) so that you could stand it up vertically or kick it up by the tail between rides without wearing it down. Now that there are risers specifically used for the Beams that would replace a guard, do you think there should be any concern for those wanting to install the lights on a V2?

I think that flatland should (or maybe is already) making special risers that adapt to these lights - the tail getting worn down isn’t as big of a problem on the new composite decks but I’m hope to see support for legacy vehicles - I’ve got tail guards on a few of my V2s for sure, they’re crucial

I think the holes aren't just for added cushion, but to save weight. I'm curious to know what the weight difference is between the 105s and the 85s. Does the board still suffer from overheating with the 105s?
