The funny thing is that cutting a bit of timing by programming the height sensor would probably only be about as detrimental to overall speed as the amount of weight this thing will require to stay down. 100 lbs is a 1/10th of a second. im willing the bet he could keep that 100 lbs off and only losing about .075 seconds from timing cut in first. not only that but it will be more predictable, consistently safer on ALL track surfaces and DAs, and keep the car from completely destroying itself the next time it wheelies with 70-100 lbs MORE on the front end. OR just set up a boost by gear setting. A Haltech would be alot cheaper than the damage that is bound to occur in the very near future.

You think it's just a matter of slapping it on and problem solved? Do you know how much trial and error and setup work has to be done once he installs it? Has to figure out how much timing to roll back when it starts to lift etc. You want to lose the least amount of power while keeping the car in control and doing what you want it to to go fast. This isnt just a matter of slap in the sensor and everything will work perfect. Problem is most of you know less than jack about any of that stuff.

Before you go crazy messing with (or worrying about) the camber- CHECK THE SETBACK (the distance the front wheels are forward/ aft of one another) and CASTER. The strut rod (locates the lower control arm forward/backwards) pivot point made direct contact with the track, so it is probably tweaked pretty good. By checking the caster and setback, you can know how much and where to straighten it out- and the camber situation will likely either be rectified with the repairs, or dramatically improved. Im going to bet that the caster will show a pretty significant change as compared to the pre-moonshot pass alignment. Get it back over to that shop, and have them hang the heads and measure what you have now, compared to it before, and the bent parts will become pretty obvious.

Imagine setting the rear tires on the ground, raising the front up 6ft or so with the lift, and then snatching the lift out from under it. That's basiclly the same as what happened. Guaranteed frame damage everytime. I'd be replacing the wheel bearings too. Also, it's a drag car. Imo, hollow out the headlight buckets, and put lead in their place.

I've only been to a body shop once with a car that was in a Collision. it was a friend. they didn't charge too much for basic work. It wasn't a complete job. I had new fenders to bolt on. Just pull out the front and get rid of whatever damage there is to the frame. this is minor from a body shops perspective. They have tools and measurements and they know where things should be. I'd suggest having a body shop look at it and maybe pull it because there won't be much to pull and then get new strut Tower supports because those are probably bent and you don't realize it. All in all not super expensive you can probably put the same fenders back on and call it a day. It would give you some personal peace of mind to know everything's right. alignment can be important going down the strip.

JUST NO. The whole reason the front got tweaked like this was because of those bolts. I called it in the previous video you can see exactly where bolts pushed the whole subframe up causing EVERYTHING to be pushed up including ripping out the welds. If the bolts were not there the car would have used all the shock travel and none of this would have happened or it would have been much more minimal.

Make sure you check those front camber bolts as well, one might have spun on that impact. You probably have some more adjustment available. Also double check which screw holes you're using in the camber plate. You could have them offset by a screw hole, which would make it off side to side.

have you thought about the bottom two bolts of the struts might have shifted? like most aftermarket coilovers have a little bit of play to add more camber if you wanted to. 🧐

I know this might sound out there but here me out first. Your welding skills are great... Why not make a full tube chassis so you can add and take away where need be. Then take that badboi into the 7's or 6's. Definitely would get you to that 1 million make. Love the content and welcome to Florida bro.

Might as well stich weld up the entire front unibody, this won't be the last time it catches air like this. Stitch weld will make that whole front a LOT stronger. Also probably worth looking into some longer travel suspension so you can set dampening higher to cushion the blow as well as keep the tires on the track when the front is up a little.

@@24kNick It’s also not illegal to keep the stock engine. Mine is 30yo and it’s been making twice the stock horsepower for half that time on an unopened longblock and a bigger turbo. I performed a compression test on it in August and it still has 96% compression across all four holes within 1% of each other. It’s really a very impressive engine. Nathan’s is still on a built and stroked engine and he holds the record. (Sorry man, I get weird about swapping Honda engines into Toyota sportscars. I’ll get off my soapbox now).

@@24kNick On your channel? The want to check that shit out. I bet she’s a beast! What year is that 4G and how much is she putting down? FWD? I don’t feel quite the same way about a 4G63T Starlet as I do a Honda engined MR2. For one, because it’s not a Honda engine. And two, because, unlike the MKII MR2, the Starlet, even in its hottest versions, it didn’t get a legendary engine like the 3S-GTE. I know the turbo engine on a Starlet is pretty great but it can’t even remotely compare to the 4G63t. (plus I feel a certain kinship with you 4G guys because people forget about how badass your engine is, too.)
