The Viper GTS MK1 is without a doubt still one of my dream cars, and has a design that still looks fresh today, something that can't be said for many cars. I remember falling in love with it when playing Grand Turismo on Playstation all those years ago, now that I'm in my mid-40s and have some money, I'm going to get the real thing.
@adamlapinski75904 жыл бұрын
I agree completely! This design is eye candy, very simple, flush, subtle, and soothing. It's a shame cars are not made like this anymore. Instead we have fake vents and weird over-designed eyesores, and slapped with regulations.

Thanks bro for the video. You just taught me something I didn't know. With the heat only working on right side of dial.. I'm in Detroit. We bought a 2000 RT/10 in May 2019. When we bought it, we didn't need to use the heat cause it was hot outside. But now that it's winter in Michigan and I crank it up to start it sometimes. I've noticed that heat only blows when the dial is to the right... I just thought it was something wrong with it.lol.. Just want to say thank you for your videos on your Viper. They're very informative.

Was a Viper engineer and still own my 1997 GTS Coupe. The gas cap outer foam seal was for dust. The rubber rubber seal on the plastic gas cap was for evaporitive emmision and dictated by the EPA
@tedhlokoff89644 жыл бұрын
The Gas Cap Cover has a drain tube from it to the wheelwell below for spillage. The Aluminium is just a fancy cover and emissions caps are spring loaded etc. CEL if the cap is off as fuel system is closed and has a charcoal canister and emissions pump for fumes

Don't forget the A pillar body panel is velcroed on. You can just pull it off with your fingers. Keep in mind this car was designed and built on a shoestring budget. So they started with the engine and chassis and built everything around it to just make it work. It was not designed as a comfort convenience normal sedan. It's all about the engine.

The brakes suck so bad. Biggest surprise i got with my 97 was that my 91 vr4 had better brakes. Not sure if its just an issue with mine. Pedal feels pretty hard. Thought about trying to replace the proportioning valves since everything else checks out. The gas latch can be ran without the plastic cap. And gen 2 is the best gen.

The rad tank on the inner fender is actually a RADIATOR TANK and operates as the rad tank where you have access to the coolant (when cold). The 'overflow tank' inside the front fascia is actually a zero pressure Overflow tank.

I disagree. Nothing wrong with the brakes. I owned a 99 ACR for 18 years. They are not under powered. The brakes lock up very easy, hence the crashing without abs. Panic braking. So by default, if the brakes can stop the rotation of the wheel they aren’t “underpowered”. My only critique, fun video. Made me miss mine. I shouldn’t have sold it.
@thatcarlifeR83 жыл бұрын
And you sort of hit on it talking about no ABS but there’s no traction control and there is no stability control which she didn’t mention the stability control. Also I believe that the 1999 model and 2000 model had forged internals making them perfect candidates for boosted applications. Oh, one final quirk And only the AC uncle had this, smoothbore intake tube’s with K and N filters from the factory supposedly giving the car an extra 10 hp and 10 foot pounds of torque. I have also read but not able to confirm that the ACR is rated at less horsepower than it actually is and that it also came with a different camshaft, a “hot cam”. Whatever that supposed to mean LOL.
