BUT, it is the Mineral Grey, and NOT "Silver"... and it has the dual rigt-side exhaust and molded bumper of the 2006 models..?? I do not have documents on the exact build date. My only guess is that it WAS Silver, and the previous owner changed out the rear bumper, and upgraded the exhaust, then re-painted it into the 2006 color...

Again this is an opinion. FCA have already gone very European with the brand. Just one good example is they don’t put a Cummins in the 1500 or the Jeep, they could... instead they put an Italian Diesel that has major issues and is right around the corner from a recall. Also this same engine has had trouble for years in Europe as well. You know straight up that Cummins makes a better engine but they don’t own Cummins. It’s all a money saving tactic and it works two fold. The vehicle only needs to last as long as the warranty and they get rid of a flawed engine quickly. So come on now folks don’t get all angsty at my comments, shit happens. A lot of companies are shells of their former selves and they will never be the same. Don’t defend these companies too hard because above all remember they don’t care about anything but their image and the bottom line.

I've got a Gen 3 Viper and the parts issue usually falls into one of three categories. 1. Shared part across the Chrysler lineup-usually available and inexpensive. Examples include switches, sensors, etc. 2. Difficult to find Mopar parts but aftermarket substitutes and upgrades are available. Usually pricey. 3. Viper-specific part. Expensive. Often unavailable because Chrysler has a habit of discontinuing parts for low-production vehicles as soon as they can-so you're looking for used or NOS parts at significant markup. That's kind of what you deal with on a rare vehicle. There's not enough of them to make it worthwhile for the aftermarket en masse, and those that do charge a premium because they've got limited numbers that they can sell. The manufacturer doesn't care because it doesn't make sense to make parts for vehicles that are long out of warranty and not numerous enough to generate profit servicing.

I have a 2005 SRT 10 quad cab with -7200 miles, the bed full of a seemingly endless supply of 100 dollar bills, champagne spraying out of the windshield wiper fluid reservoir, and painted in platinum (not platinum color-ACTUAL PLATINUM). I got the rare super-turbo-dilithium warp core engine (so rare that they only made 0 of them). It gets .0000007002 miles per gallon (and runs best when the gas is poured into the tank one drop at a time using a turkey baster), raises people from the dead anytime I drive by a cemetery, and does my laundry for me (including separating delicates). Only real issue I've had with it is occasionally one of the 100 dollar bills isn't as crispy as I prefer, but that's not as big of a deal to the random people I give them away to as much as it's an annoyance to me...

Only one I can remember seeing was last year at a golf course at my local park. It was red with the clear coat peeling, but hey, someone appreciates it enough to drive it around I guess.

Very tempting to buy this truck if it wasn’t for the gas mileage

This truck is on my buy list if I win the lottery. I'd take the spoiler off and do home depot runs, I mean the reg cab has a decent sized bed. Not going to abuse it, but I'd drive this thing and haul stuff like a couch, wood, plants, bags of mulch, bags of potting soil, dirty crap to make my yard look nice.

Has anyone ever made a supercharger for the viper V10.....that would be something
@charlesreedy93303 жыл бұрын
Paxton, roe, and procharger, I think. These engines could only handle 6-8psi of boost before kaboom. You need to forge the engine to make any real power. The 48re could barely handle the stock hp. I've had mine rebuilt 2x.

Currently an owner of a 06 quad cab for 2.5 years now and yes the 4 speed is horrible. but saving up for a swap soon. everything else has just worked. the oil cooling lines/power steering did fail (which was comin in those) and thankfully not too costly to fix. overall I still love it and will probably try to keep it for many more years to come.

Unfortunately, it was totalled about 9 months ago. Gut wrenching cause I just had new plugs wires and distributor done w a basic tune. And money down to get the stereo upgraded..

I have a 2003 HEMI Dodge (first year of the Hem) and now I got a 2006 SRT-10 Mineral grey (last year for the SRT 10)... Thank you Jesus! 😎👍 The weight of these trucks is what makes them slow. It would be cool to put those engines in my 1970 Challenger RT and 1971 Cuda 😃👍

I am from Australia, I am seriously looking into buying a quad cab, I currently have a Holden HSV Ute, not worried about the fuel consumption as I’ll probably only drive it once or twice a month. Will look great in my garage. I just got to see how well the RHD conversion is before a sink 50k into another toy.

The Ram- SRT 10 was a beautiful Vehicle, but the 2 door was too small and if I hadn't been married, I might have bought one. But I don't know. Even as a former Chrysler Employee, I loved vans and Jeeps as I still do now.

I have an '04 silver that I drove daily to nearly 200k miles. I have no good reason to not drive it right now, but I'm currently enjoying a ratty '62 Beetle. I did have the power steering and oil cooler line leaks. In fact, even the replacement cooler lines leaked. And I did do the clutch hydraulics upgrade. The power steering leak was the most painful. The radiator fan is hydraulically driven from the power steering pump. So a low steering fluid levels also meant some scary engine temperatures.

I think Dodge produced some great " Hero"- trucks for the showroom and enthusiasts and pulled out at the right moment. If they would have invested more and gone on from 2006, the financial crisis 2008 would have surely killed this vehicle for good...
