HEADS & CAM 5.9L Magnum Dodge Dakota R/T | PART 2

We continue to install the HEADS & CAM on the 5.9L Magnum Dodge Dakota R/T in PART 2 of this video series. This project truck is getting some attention and the build is moving fast as we bolt on the indy x performance heads onto this small block v8 with the magnum 360 cubic inch engine. This pickup truck project also gets a new cam from comp cams and should make this pickup truck thump with some nice camel exhaust chop at idle. We install the heads and cam with new head gaskets in this video and measure for push rod length after we degree the cam in.

Definitely dig these R/T vids. Just a tip for next time- When you get a new set of lifters, check 'em, then dump the whole set in a tub of oil and leave them there for several hours. They fill up with oil, which is a good thing. Plastic 1 gallon water jug cut down and a quart of you favorite oil is all you need.

Sweet step by step and perfect explanation of said steps and not hurry hurry....I don't see showing can card specs as a hidden secret or anything just a Cam good job boys and I hope you do body and PAINT not the new fad of wrapping....that just says easy way out to me...... wrapping is ok but you open the door or hood at a show or something and it looks like ass pic your favorite color and paint it 💯 percent...👌👍✌️

Good video but was wondering why you didn't use cam lube on the cam? Pooring motor oil on a new cam isn't good idea it can flatten out on the break in. Cant wait to see it run. My buddy wants to do the same thing to his. He already has the intake on his with the bigger tbody. It runs really good. My 94 can hang until the top he pulls away. His is a 2002 Dakota R/T.

both of these should run im guessing, low 12,s or so with good 93 or better octane,or high 7,s or so eighth mile..i got my ,..0 to 4 inch drop shocks today,wow pricy,an hope an pray they work,an is not too much to get them put on,i have no help,or live friends at my age,so i gotta pay mechanic...im wishin yall the best of luck,an am watchin,an paying attention etc..

If you've watched a few @richardholdener videos keeping the cam specs "secret" in this situation doesn't really apply. Basically a JY sbe engine, No windage tricks performed, stockish Indy Xs, and all installed in a heavy slug being used as a Daily S/S vehicle. Never mind the fact "Every cams a boost cam". hahaha 😂

I'd really be interested in the wheels! I need a set for my 01 rango build that is red and I've named Christine! 217k on the body 17k on engine, transmission, and rearend so far. Doing a complete top end kit now with edlebrock magnum heads with beehive spring conversion, a nitrous cam, lifters, 1.7 lifters, huges air gap intake and a custom ported and polished throttle body I done myself.
