Hey Biff, thank you for taking time and making all these videos. They do help us fellow BX owners. I also see a severe safety issue with this video. I didn’t see you lock loader in up position somehow, I don’t trust any hydraulics. If for some reason a hose failed or something else failed,I’d hate to see the loader come crashing down on you. I was thing of some kind of cylinder locking plate you could place over ram against edge of cylinder to brace/lock cylinder in position..

Thanks Robert! I’m glad you enjoy and appericate my videos as they take a lot of work and time to make! As for the loader I usually to chalk the rams but didn’t have my chalk stick as I forgot where I placed it. Thanks for your concerns tho, your 100% right, always chalk your loader if your gonna be going under it especially to do any kind of work!

We have a few more maintiance items to do on the BX to get her back in “Tip/Top” shape but once we do you can bet the turbo will be coming out!

Thanks for letting me know man. This time I didn’t put a dash before and after the description and I think that was the issue.. so strange cuz Iv always done that since the start of my channel and suddenly it seemed to start crossing the description out. So it may have been some type of KZbin update or something that changed the way the dashes behaved with the text. Hope your doing well!

Man I love this channel You're the only one I know that has the same bx 25 I have And you always give me new ideas of things to do with my tractor Not to mention the jobs you do with it I doubt I would have enough confidence to do the stack but I love it Reminds me of the older tractors I grew up with
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks buddy I’m glad to hear it! It’s always nice to get new ideas for new mods and upgrades to your tractor and even better when you can see step by step how their done so you can follow along with your own tractor! As for the exhaust stack, it def wasn’t easy, there is such tight tolerances under the hood of the BX that the angles on the elbow I made had to be JUST right for it all to work and not cause any issues.. the best thing about this mod tho is it doesn’t change the tractor itself in any permanent way which is something I def wanted incase I didn’t like it. Hope you have a great week!

dude why was I not getting notified about your vids ????..........Nice Vid!
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Damn buddy! Thanks for telling me that! You aren’t the first to tell me this either! It makes me SOOO damn angry that KZbin does this! Basically if you don’t continue to put out the same exact content or don’t upload at bare minimum one video a week KZbin will start hiding your videos from your OWN subscribers! Like wtf? If they are SUBSCRIBED to MY channel then WHY would you hide my videos from someone who clearly likes the content? Do they think they know what’s better for you then you do? Like that’s how I feel.. I feel that they think they know what you should be watching more then you yourself knows.. so instead they are the ones able to control and depict what you see.. whether your subscribed to a channel or not. I often get recommended channels I have never seen in my life over brand new videos my subscriptions have uploaded.. that’s a crock! Anyways man I’m sorry that happened.. Iv head this from 3-4 other people now and I knew that’s exactly what was happening when nobody watched my gas line video .. cuz I knew that was right up my subscribers ally yet only 1/4 of my subscribers actually watched it cuz KZbin never showed it to them.
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
In my honest option it’s basically KZbin telling you to upload more often or else.. or stay on your exact same tractor content or else.. or else they will not show it anymore to your own fans/subscribers! So annoying. Building the pole barn made my video scheduals go out the window.. I was not only uploading totally different content topics like “building a barn” but also was uploading on random days for awhile during the week and such.. none of which should change how KZbin shares or alerts my new content to my subscribers.. but it does cuz they make it that way.. so because of this my channel has taken a huge hit since last summer.. and now it’s hard and slow going to get the momentum back to somehow bring my own subscribers back to me.

Love what you do and enjoy watching your new shop come along but I have one concern and that is about that Dog laying there while you weld. My Uncle had a Dog that did the same and he never thought about it till he noticed the dog was running into walls and such. He took him to the Vet just to find out that he was almost blind and after putting 2 and 2 together they realized it was from the welding. My Uncle always used a welding shield but never thought about the dog. He always put his other dogs outside after that.
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks buddy I appreciate it as well as the words of advice! That’s one reason I hated having the dog out in my shed with me when I use to have to do all my welding out there because there just wasn’t enough room for him to get away from me and not see the light so I would often have to put him outside.. thankfully tho the new shop is large enough to where the light shouldn’t blind him so long as I am able to keep him a good distance away from the arc.. you really gotta be focusing on the arc for it to affect your eyes I feel and it’s more looking at and watching me then watching or staring at the arc but I’m glad you mentioned this so I can be even more cautious.. I def don’t wanna ruin my pups eyes that’s for sure! Thanks for sharing your story!

@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Thanks Ross! I actually bought a flapper a few years ago but never added it because it was too large. I keep forgetting to order another one that’s the proper size but I should do that soon. Thankfully the tractor is often parked inside.. but even if it wasn’t and water got down it the water would get stuck in the muffler before going down into the head of the engine.. so long as it wasn’t parked with out starting for years and years lol.

Can you just run it with no muffle ? Maybe straight pipe it from the manifold ?
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Great question Howard.. Well you could do that but the issue then is that you won’t have proper back pressure for which the engine was designed to have when it’s running.. so over time it could hurt the valves and will also be very loud. Once I add a turbo to the engine tho i may not put a muffler on it because a turbo itself will give back pressure and act as a muffler in some ways to quiet the motor down.. on my Cummins diesel pickup I deleted the muffler and it sounds fine, but if it didn’t have a turbo on it I wouldn’t have deleted it. Thanks for watching!

You don’t even need a muffler with the turbo. The turbo would be a muffler itself. It wouldn’t be loud to just straight pipe it.
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Yah I’m prolly going to. I was talking more of like a resonator if anything. I straight piped my Cummins and it sounds great, I’ll have to see how loud it is once it’s done, I tested the turbo once quickly already on this motor and it was quite loud but that was open turbo. Hoping that with just a straight pipe that the sound tapers down quite a bit which I’m sure it will
@Chestnut0923 Жыл бұрын
@@BiffsEquipment you can attach it to the turbo, run the straight pipe out and if you want to continue to use the hood you can get a removal small tractor muffler that has the built in resonator in the stack

@@Chestnut0923 yah I planned to still use the same exit out of my hood if I had the room.. so it would look much like my current stack.. though if it’s too loud I will have to add a muffler/resonator .. like you said maybe I can find one from an older ford tractor or something back when they came from the factory with a compact muffler/stack all in one 👍🏻

@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, that’s the first Iv heard of a crank seal leak on a BX motor before. Hope mine doesn’t leak as I’m almost to 1,000 hours myself but so far she’s still doing fine. As for what to run, you could add some Lucas motor oil treatment in there, the stuff is thick like hunny. I wouldn’t add a lot tho in such a small engine, try adding maybe 1/2 a quart or a little less on your next oil change and top it off with regular 15/40 diesel oil and see what that does. The motor oil treatment by Lucas is good stuff Iv sworn by that and their products all my life.. and it’s guaranteed to mix with any oil I believe and guaranteed not to hurt your engine as it’s all synthetics.
