You are supposed to open the valve for a second then close. Light the pre heat fuel. Wait until it almost goes out and then open up the valve to start the burner. That way it won’t flare up like that.

I have a very similar stove branded as Markill - part of the Vaude/Edelrid group. I believe it is made by Kovea; just different branding. I would prime it for longer, waiting for the flame to become a small blue ball before turning the gas back up. This reduces the risk of flaring and probably reduces soot. Sharing the same pump etc, just different legs, I have had no problems or issues with it since buying it in 2008.

Nice review....Fairly certain you're showing your nads at 6:30 😂

another potential problem (see comment by john robert) to opening the main valve prematurely before the burner is fully heated up is that the jet will collect carbon and begin to narrow, eventually closing off entirely. That "needle tool" can clean the nozzle (jet) but it's best to avoid the problem by just giving the burner time to heat up and then SLOWLY open the main fuel valve and incrementally increasing the flow rate but paying attention to the flame -- it should stay blue (not yellow) at all times to indicate correct burning.

you cremated them sausages lol, turn it down a bit !
@undertheradar0014 жыл бұрын
If the valve assembly leaks whilst using petrol, he could cremate himself. Take it from one who has experienced 2 or 3 valve failures of these explosion hazards!! They are not safe!! They are not uk certified safe!! Not even a CE mark. Be warned!!
@maxmustermann53534 жыл бұрын
@@undertheradar001 Thanks for the warning. Can you tell the exact location of the leakage? Have you been able to get it sealed properly?
@undertheradar0014 жыл бұрын
@@maxmustermann5353 The leakage is coming out from the swivel valve where you put on the connector, but at the other end. 2 or 3 stoves have gone that way very quickly. There is no way of repairing.
@maxmustermann53534 жыл бұрын
@@undertheradar001 thanks for the quick response. The connection from the hose to the burner is leaking right? Do you know why that is?
@undertheradar0014 жыл бұрын
@@maxmustermann5353 The way that the whole assembly is made is not of good design. I took the whole thing apart and saw it for myself.

works the same as a coleman 533 stove but in a really awkward form..

The pumps are absolute death trap shit on these stoves. Get yourself an Ergopump Primus. Make sure that connection to the evaporator tube is seriously tight, they have a tendency to come loos as well. Other than that this stove rocks. I am converting my old one into a MSR XGK Compact stove using the bottom of a Stainless steel water container. Damn those dogs look burnt!!

Did you actually use petrol in it for the fuel?
@MrKovea8 жыл бұрын
Please be advised that this is not a Kovea Booster+!, all the Kovea stoves are made in Korea, this is a blatant knockoff and copy, even the packaging has been copied. Thank you

Wow a great example of how not to prime a fuel stove and keep it long term in good order. This stove is a Chinese rip off of the MSR fuel stoves in design. Watch a video utilizing MSR Whisperlite, Dragonfly or XGK-ex for a safe way to use such stoves!

There is a little depressure valve you can press

@@jasonm3127 could not find it. :(
@PsyX82 Жыл бұрын
I read that it is best to turn the bottle around so that the tube that sucks in the fuel is outside the fuel then let the pressured air and gas burn away this way you released the pressure plus your fuel line is empty too and won't leak when you unscrew it
@andrewrush51258 жыл бұрын
I find couldn't get mine to work with bio fuel, ok with meths and gas but not bio fuel (alcohol).

These are usually marketing as multi fuel being able to take oil - yet I've never seen an oil demo done. Can it really use oil or is it a matter of lost in translation?
@georgebgoode6 жыл бұрын
There is a Polish review of this stove where kerosene is used. It works. Just use meths to preheat the stove before opening the fuel valve. As regards the term 'oil,' I can only think that it only refers to kerosene. I would not advise the use of any other kind of oil.
@nicktombs18764 жыл бұрын
You can use diesel, there is a dlightly larger jet included for this

Won't be buying this after seeing the 'heat up' conflagration and the horrendously sooty flames even once it's hot. Basically there are better implementations of this format stove.

Yeah - we quickly moved away from tech type stoves and carrying fuel, to knowing how to make fire from woodland materials and skills. We now carry a trangia stove for emergencies but most of the time make a fire on the ground, a pot hanger from hazel branches and cook with that. It’s not what you carry - it’s what you know :-)
