Perfect, 5 star, lighting technique! In case any one watches this and wonders what I'm talking about, I'll explain. After priming and lighting the primer dose, many reviewers open the control valve too soon and end up with a yellow, smokey, spluttering mess. Watch one of these reviews closely and you'll see that as soon as the primer flame goes out, the jet flame turns clean and blue. The trick is, as demonstrated here, to let the primer dose burn out almost completely before opening the fuel control. If it does burn out before you've opened the valve, don't worry - just open and relight with match or lighter. It will light clean, blue and hot. The reason for the yellow, smokey mess is that, if the primer dose is still burning, its flame starves the fuel coming out of the jet (even though it is hot, vaporized and ready to burn clean and blue) of air, resulting in a 'rich burn' with a, resulting, yellow, sooty flame.

I bought Coleman 550B from army surplus. Like new. With case 700 g. Not need preheating with gasoline, and no hose mess. Very good simmering.

I would use alcohol for priming. Much cleaner with no soots all over.

I have this same stove. With the pathfinder logo. :) i knew when i got it that it was just a label but hey…. Ive found the little knob for turning the valve is not glued in very strongly. Be gentle everyone.

Is it possible to buy the bottle with its pump and valves, but not the stove head? because i have a stove head which is even more compact than this one.

it is , check on AX! On Alixpress they have stoves and stoves parts from various vendors. Failing that and your confidence with google translate, you can go to TAOBAO but you have to know how to Tao on TAOBAO. You dont have to know chinese just translating translations is what i can say. A BRS pump should work with the lanshan, firemaple, apg and brs bottles. Burner caps as well as spare lines can also be found on old alixpress.

@@viewsandreviews1369 let a little bit more fuel in around 1 foot of flame let the stove preheat around 5 minutes until yellow flame goes down. Like you did in your video you should get a blue burning flame. No yellow flash burns great video

Yes it does. It is a 'shaker' insert. Just shake up and down or turn the stove upside down to drop the needle through the fuel jet. Also comes with additional jet and needle.

Jes, i known the review Form JiuJitsu. I am konfuser about name. JiuJitsu read brs-8 wich you can buy in Ebay es BRS8, sind here is a APG Product. Or are both die same? BRS und APG...both look quite similar.

I too wonder about that and cannot give a definitive answer. I have a BRS 8/Booster Plus, which is a Chinese copy of the Kovea Booster which is made in Korea and far mor expensive than the Chinese one. My stove does not have the shaker needle fitted and I don't think that the Korean version has either. All that I can say is that the APG version is an improved version of the BRS 8 and it comes witha folding windshield. If I didn't have one already I would certainly go for the APG version of the BRS 8 because of the shaker needle, jet cleaner and extra bits.Check out this video too -kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXnRequpm86Zirc - best and most comprehensive so far - @@peterszegoe3285

Yes it is reliable. I use this stove for more than 4 years. It never let me down. I can recommend this stove with no doubts! Watch part 2 and part 3 of this episode as well! I use this stove in really hard winter conditions -35°C ! Sometimes you have to clean the nosel, that's it! If you use withe gasoline you'll never have to clean it!
