Andrew, as I am a huge Beatles fan, and used to do a radio show in Western New York called "Beatle Memories", your channel is my favorite of the five or so Beatles channels I subscribe to. Thanks for this great interview with The Bootleg Beatles. Cheers from New York State, USA!

Michael - I also subscribe to 4 or 5 Beatles channels, and all of them have something different to offer, whether it be the characters or the subjects or whatever. But I agree with you - Andrew's channel is my go-to channel. His passion for the subject, plus his humour and general demeanour, wins the day. I've had certain albums that I didn't play often enough, but after viewing Andrew's talks on, e.g., 'Memory Almost Full' or whatever, it gets me interested and I often revisit my vinyl after the reviews, as he piques my interest. Plus, a lot of tracks he highlights as his faves, whether it be Beatles or the more obscure Fab solo tracks ('I'm carrying', 'Some days' etc.) tend to generally be my faves too, so I trust his judgement! All good stuff.

Check out Fab Four, that may just change your mind!! They look and sound exactly like them, especially the guy who plays John named Adam Hastings, I had to take many looks to make sure it wasn't John, no joke also Gavin Pring who plays George, a straight doppelganger!! Go check out ths Fab Four!!

Cheers Timm. We're still a long way from normal but at least some things are happening again. This event was well social distanced although it doesn't seem to look that way on camera!

The distancing must be easier at an outdoor venue, and I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I'm an American living in the Philippines and we already passed 5 months of nearly total lock-down. But just today on one of my rare walks outside, I noticed a few restaurants are allowing customers unlike a few weeks ago. Your channel has helped keep me slightly saner through the pandemic so thanks for that.

Andrew Dixon When I was about 16 I loved the idea of playing in a Beatles tribute band. I realised soon after that I had nowhere near the range or vocal chops as Paul and I was always to chubby to play George or even John. The Bootlegs were amazing back in the 90’s but the accuracy and stage show now is staggering. Hats off to those guys.👍🏻

Thank you for this. The Fab Four here in the US have been doing one hour live stream shows on a weekly basis doing different eras or albums and I think it has been successful since they keep doing them and the cost is modest from $10 to $15. They have been enjoyable. It would be nice to see these guys do that do.

I've recently watched The Bootleg Beatles perform in Liverpool at the Philharmonic Hall with The Philharmonic Orchestra playing the two final albums, Let It Be and Abbey Road. They were magnificent musicians to hold their own and act in character. The Orchestra appeared to be in awe and appreciated them as much as the audience. Who knew "John" was played by an American? And that "Paul" had learned to play left handed. What was their relationship with Neil Innes whose concept this tour was, but sadly died during lockdown? How respectfully they paid tribute to him at the end of the performance. I'd definitely love to see them again. Fascinating interview.

Enjoyed this, Andrew. I saw the Bootleg Beatles at Bristol's Colston Hall three years running, and each of these shows were a couple of weeks before Christmas so it was such a great atmosphere each time. Looking at the fellas in your video, 'John' is new to me (I saw Neil Harrison on all three occasions, I think) and 'George' is the same guy. Possibly 'Ringo' too. 'Paul' is definitely new on me, but I imagine he must be pretty damned good as the old 'Paul' was incredible. Great stuff.

Interesting to note that the boys, when interviewed like this, appear to react more or less like the Beatles in the way they answer questions. To me, the Bootleg's Paul was the more talkative, in keeping with the manner of the real Paul. The Ringo spoke a bit while the George spoke the least. Great interview.

Hi Andrew, Great you met these guys. I saw them at least 15 times. And every time you forget you're seeing a tribute band. They are great, really great. Frst time I saw them, Neil Harrison was still John, about maybe 10 years ago. Last time I saw them was sometime at the end of January 2020 in Maastricht, Netherlands, just a few weekd before the lockdown. By the way have you ordered Gimme Some Truth by John and what version? I ordered the CD/BLURAY Set with the book and the 4LP Set.

You should check out The Analogues, they are a tribute band in Holland and focus themselves on looking for the exact same instrument etc., not on the look which I find sometimes being on the verge of cringe. There is a documentary of The Analogues on KZbin. They tour and play albums in their entirity. Went to see them previous year with Abbey Road. Ps the one sitting in the front looked a bit like Sylvester Stallone

Yess indeed The Analogues, they are great, but you cannot copare them to The Bootleg Beatles. I was to see them live in April 2020, but due to Corona the gig was cancelled. Hopefully In February 2021 the gig can go on. The Botleg Beatles .......... great, just great. Close your eyes, open your ears and enjoy.

Great interview. I've seen many Beatle tribute bands and the one thing that I insist on is that there Paul place left handed. It breaks the illusion, doesn't matter how good the band plays the songs if they're Paul is not left-handed it ruins it completely.
