as an owner of helm boots I can say your review is spot on. Break in is brutal imo. However when they do break in you know their going to be durable. If u have wide feet I highly recommend these as their wides are actually wide, not to mention the slightly longer length helps as well. Around the 220 on sale they are great. 300 is just too much though.

This was a great review, and I think you are a fantastic reviewer. I appreciate your pace, your pleasant demeanor, how you breakdown and approach the elements of the review, and your fair and honest assessment. Bravo!

I'm a big fan of Helm and have been following (stalking?) their boots from the start. On my last trip to Austin earlier this year, I went to their shop to finally try on some shoes in person. I decided on the Zind in natural, which they didn't have available in my size. I'm still waiting on a restock, but as soon as I get that notification I'm going to pounce!

I finally decided to try Helm, buying the Zind in natural from their annual warehouse sale for $125 on 01/05/2024. I wanted to watch this video again after my purchase to refresh my expectations. I don't know if the natural will be Horween or B Leather, but for $125 I think the boots will be an exceptional value. I did remember your advice on half-down sizing, and the Helm website "sizing helper" feature confirmed that for me. Looking forward to them arriving. Thanks, Teik.

I really like when you review the boots after spending some time wearing them. Thanks!

Thank you for another great review. I have two pairs of helms, the Marion Olive and the Railroad, both discontinued. Both are Horween leather and US made. They have aged very nicely, but the Blake stitching makes them difficult to get resoled.

You see a similar sole on some Japanese boots, Rolling Dub Trio comes to mind. Using rubber, leather, cork and brass toe taps.

Is it possible to suggest boots for review? I would love to see RM Williams Santa Fe or Prada Black Monoliths, they are a bit far left-field from your style but all other reviews seem to focus entirely on the boots as an aesthetic item, not as proper footwear. Brillant review as always, Thank You.

Quite alright to suggest, another thing altogether if I can afford them lol 😂

@@Bootlosophy You do very objective reviews. How about one on Grafters? I can only find one review on Utube.

It’s fair to call them fully handmade as long as no machine does all the guiding, work, and thinking of any part of construction. If a machine holds the boots while a machine lasts the bottoms, and a machine cuts off the excess leather, then I’d say that is no long handmade. Woodworkers who use power saws to cut boards down to size before making live edge slab tables and then use power sanders still are considered to be making those tables by hand. It’s only fair that boot makers get the same allowances and grace. I want to support Helm, but I haven’t found one of their offerings that I like more than a similarly priced competitor ye. thanks for the great content.

Haha, not always! Sometimes there’s a hell of a lot of detail to get through, and if I don’t get through the details, people complain! You can’t win!
