Personally don´t think promoting the hookup culture in college is a good thing. Like you said in previous videos Katy it just crushes your soul over time and leaves you empty and sad. Waiting for someone who respects, loves and values you and wants you longer than just one night is SO worth it! Not to be all granny but I still believe sex is very meaningful and vulnerable.

My boyfriend and I started dating in high school after being friends for three years... Went our separate ways (2000km apart) for the first two years of university and are still together almost five years later! It's not impossible as long as you understand your priorities and choose to make it work. Obviously, this sort of thing won't work for everyone but it did work for us and I'm so happy for it!

My boyfriend and I knew each other throughout high school. After graduating, we started dating and we started at different colleges that were hours apart. Long distance was hard but you have to make time for each other and for your self. We ended up at the same college less than a year later but it was because of academics. We graduated college two years ago and are still together. So a high school to college relationship can work. And I know a lot of other couples who survived the high school to college transition.

it's not that big a deal! some of my friends were virgins and no one cared, honestly. No one even has to know if you don't want them to. You just have to be willing to be true to yourself and your values. if you want to have sex, obviously go for it (no one will walk out on you when they find out you're a virgin, and if they do you probably don't want to be with them anyway!). If you want to abstain from sex, just stick to that! People who deserve you will respect you, and you can always say no thanks to a guy if he asks to "hook up" or sleep with you. just be smart about it- if you don't wanna have sex, probably don't go back to their room after the party/ date, etc.

Honestly it's not a big deal. I'm a virgin and every guy I've dated has been a total gentleman about it. I'm waiting for the guy who I know is 100% right for me. But this is my path and everyone's is different. So If you want to have sex go for it! Make sure it's something you want! Just be safe. Don't get pressured into doing something that you don't want to do! And don't stress it!

Reading through the comments on this I've noticed that a lot of people seem to be almost annoyed at the fact that Katy has "changed" which is fair, not everyone will like who she was or who she's become, but I think it's important to realize that as people grow and experience new things, they do change, whether that be for better or worse. Something that comes with changing is a change of opinion and outlook, which is important to remember as well. Just because Katy may have said in the past that she didn't like hook up culture in college, doesn't mean she has to have that opinion forever! I absolutely love how real Katy is and how opinionated she is, it's refreshing seeing someone so knowledgable and open on KZbin. I have no problem with you changing your opinion on hook up culture, people change. But to say that hook ups after college mean you're in a "crisis" I disagree. Everyone has the ability to either pursue a relationship or just have a hook up if that's what they're looking for. As long as both parties are okay with it, I think it's fine. Also, where did you meet these guys? Just curious because I've never seen you mention them before and it didn't seem as natural as when you used to do with your friends from home!
