I remember watching your video about On-Cell Touch from last summer and being very excited to see it applied to a device; now we finally have the first ever device using On-Cell Touch and it looks as good as advertised! 🤩😁 Also it appears that those who pre-ordered the device received the Nova Air silver case as the Nova Air C cases were not ready yet for whatever reason. If you order a device today you are offered either the silver or "vibrant orange" case that has been specifically designed for Nova Air C at 40% off bought as a bundle. The case that was designed for it does have a black edge rather than the silver that you commented as looking off in your first impression. Really looking forward to the review on this 😁! Recently the Nove 3 Color updated it's firmware, it is not in the changelog but dramastically improves how the colors are shown, at least is my impression, so if there is someone with this device i recommend the new update.

I noticed that too! I even prefer the faster refresh modes for web browsing now, because the ghosting has been reduced a lot!

I really want to believe the screen whites are brighter and the colours more vivid, but Good E-reader set a Nova Color 3 and Nova Color C side by side with the frontlight off and they just look identical to me. Looking forward to your detailed review.

I'm agree... I don't like the shiny cover too. by the way is there an option to keep all the interfaces in monochrome, like I love that now we can see colorful pages, but the interfaces looked better in black and white.

I believe you should recosnider the words you use at 6:50 to describe the contacts on the left side of the device. I personally own a nova air and have tested these contacts. They do not transmit power or data in any capacity to the cover. They are essentially bare contacts which when shorted/connected in a certain combination (which is achieved through a simple wire and switch connection with the cover) will trigger an input (which the device interprets as volume up and volume down). The page turns in the reading software only occur as BOOX programmed the device to interpret volume up/volume down as forward/back in the software. I don't believe there is any chance of new accessoires taking advantage of these contacts in any way and it is misleading to describe them as more than they are. TLDR: no power or data is transmitted through the contacts on the left of the device

Oh no! I just bought Nova Air few months ago after watched your review 😅, didn’t expect a more tempting model to come this soon. By the way (1) will you be able to verify the actual weight of your unit? Few people reported that the unit they received is not 235g like Nova Air, but close to 280g, similar to Nova 3 Color. (2) Is the screen sensitivity e.g. page flipping any better than Nova Air? Looking forward your deep review 👍

@@theish9 I don't do note taking on tablet/ereader. Ghosting is very minimal, just like Kindle, not enough to annoy me. I tried ipad mini few year ago as ereader, but my eyes got tired pretty fast staring on LCD/LED screen, so I switched to eink device since then. So far I've been happy with the reading experience of eink. My materials are mainly text based books, no magazines or comics.

Dear Sir, i have a question: i daily read two ePub -books beside each other. The nova air c starts up in landscape mode in the library, could there be a setting possible that when i open a book, that it starts in the side by side mode?

Hi Voja, can you please compare the contrast and text crispness with the libra 2. I love my libra 2 it has the best screen contrast but loading manga is so tedious, so i am looking at some android e-ink tablet with which i can just use app to read mangas.

There's no point in comparing the contrast between the two devices, as any Kaleido screen is by default a lot darker than any monochromatic E-Ink screen, therefore making the comparison irrelevant, as the starting point is not the same, not even slightly. Monochromatic screens currently have incomparably better contrast to any color E-Ink screen.

I'd love to, but to buy it and import it to Norway, it would cost me just under 1200 USD for the device and a cover, including shipping and import taxes, and videos made related to that device wouldn't be able to ever make that money back, not even in 5 years. I've tried to contact them for months now about getting a review loan device, but I never hear anything back, so at the moment it's just way too pricy for me to be able to do something like that.

I bought a Boox device recently. I'm looking for some tools to organize the bookshelves from a computer without having to do it on the device. I would like a heirarchy nested perhaps 3 levels deep (genre/author/series/books) This is obvioulsy hard to do on the device. If I could booxdrop entire directories into the device instead of doing it file by file and moving it into place manually it would be much nicer Anyone have any ideas how to do this ? I'm ok to write some code if you can point me at an API for this.

You could always just switch the Library into the Directory mode and then just use your directory hierarchy structure instead of bookshelves.

It is very similar like the Nova Air, so there is a film that is pre-applied, non removable.

It's a very smooth screen protector though, so it doesn't feel paperlike/rough at all. It's very glassy, but there is a bit of resistance, just not any noticeable texture. So it neither feels nor sounds like paper (there is a faint sound when writing though), but for practical purposes it works fine, I think. It provides enough resistance to be comfortable to write on and it feels surprisingly accurate, for some reason. So I'm alright with it, despite generally being very picky about such things 😅
