Ehhh it said 4 grams is recommended but you only added 3 grams…..I’m a little confused 🤔

The optimal is 4g but you can add, 3-5g 😁

Nope you don't you can do this with or without a vinyl records :)

Is the needle not supposed to touch the record at all, prior to setting the ring to zero?

Not at all it should be floating above the record when you set it to 0

Is it supposed to float back towards the arm rest when it is floating? My anti skate is set to 0 and my arm bearings are fine.

It is supposed to float at a level and float on its x-axis the direction doesn't matter at this point :)
