My teacher and book say that the winner should be the one with the least amount of points? can you explain why you chose the one with the highest amount of points?

I believe you misunderstood your teacher...or he/she sucks - which is possible. Highest number of points = winner. No exceptions

I think your teacher might have ranked your winner. like for example: ranked 5 chocolates from most favorite to least favorite. 1 is for more favorite while 5 is for the least favorite.
