I was looking at examples provided by my professor and I couldn't figure out how they were determining how many for A vs B and so on. You explained it so well thank you!!

how was A 7 the first time but 4 the second time, why does it change ?

Then there are multiple winners. You'd have to do some kind of tie breaking to determine the final winner.
