EP28 The flood part 2 The clean up at Chateau Lagorce

We are slowly but surely doing as much as we can to clear up all the damage from the Flood .
For over 20 years of living in this area of France , none of us have ever seen such a natural disaster .
The torrential rain turned into muddy water falls ...
The beautiful blue pool turned into a muddy mess ... the current was that strong that it even managed to wash out the joint in some of the tailes by the pool :(
In this episode we bring the pool to life , we clean the path as you come into the chateau , the valley which was full of rubble from the destroyed path .
We discover water got in one of the chateau's downstairs rooms ...

I’m so very sorry that your chateau home and business have had such damage. It’s pretty amazing how you have cleaned up so much yourselves already. Hopefully insurance will help you finish off some of the harder tasks. Had you not been so thorough in restoring the property and keeping it up, maybe there could have been more damage. The quality of your work speaks volumes at times like these when you have no control over the outcome. I've been waiting to see how you're managing the aftermath. It's going to require so much work to clean up the stone in the grass and straighten up the road with huge holes. High pressure hoses might be in order. My husband was a fireman and their station flooded twice. I'm so sorry for your enormous set backs. I hope this is the end of difficulties once you're through the cleanup.

I wished I lived near you all, I would be over right away, shovel in hand, to help you with the cleanup and anything else that needs to be done. I was so saddened by this when I saw the first video. Water is so powerful and nothing can stand in its way.. It's unbelievable how it created that huge hole in the back pathway.. I noticed that near the road that was washed away there are not many trees ed and Anna. That road was ready to be washed away. Consider planting trees. They assist in fighting landslide episodes. Set up a tree planting campaign. People can purchase a tree and have their name plaque on it. 💜

The flooding has gone on for centuries, but the modern equipment helps with the clean up. It was really devastating to see how nature can be so brutal. Thankfully most things can be repaired, and a positive attitude goes a long way.😊

I’m so glad you guys are safe. I remember 3 years ago a hurricane flooding my property and we were so cared we would lose everything. After things dried out the first thing I did was installed a French drain and it has helped tremendously. You might want to look at installing more around the chateau. Along with bags you can fill with sand.

Oh boy that damage takes me back. As a child I lived in Borth in Wales and every year the sea came over. I have seen waves break over houses and completely take away porches. It was very frightening as a kid. The general consensus was to put the storm boards up and hope for the best. I have cleaned out houses with starfish on the carpet and a four foot tide line on the walls. Less damage would have been done if the doors had been left over and the sea went straight through. So I have seen first hand the damage water can do. It is a very powerful element. My heart goes out to you. Xxx
