Put an old carpet in the area where she is confined. It should cover all the area where she is. Slippery tiles are the enemy of her recovery. Once the recovery progresses she will be up more and you want her to have a sure footing as much as possible.

I’m so happy Onyx will be ok. What a blessing. Your so good with her. The kids are lucky to have such great companions ❤️❤️ There baby photos are adorable! I love black dogs. In the states there usually the last color to get picked. It’s sad. Here’s to her recovery ❤️🩹 We are huge dog lovers. We have a pit bull whose an angel x thinks he’s a lap dog. We just found out he’s got a ton of medical issues. He’s stayed at the vet twice now. We just got a call saying Tiger might have cancer. He’s almost 9 and my heart is broken. Their like children to us. We lost our chihuahua last year. As much as you love them, my God they break your heart.

Oh Edd and Anna! This touched me in so many ways. I had a black lab named Onyx who loved my children so much. Last year, my current little dog Olivia was attacked by a wild animal and almost died. That was $3,000, which I fortunately had saved for emergencies. I gladly paid it. Our pets are our family! Much love to you and your pups. I wish Onyx a very speedy recovery. 💕

Awwww poor Onyx and Oprah must be missing her sister too. You’re doing the best for her , they become so “ human” so much part of our families. I’m sure she’s in good hands , it’s a shame you can’t bring her to the UK to see the “ Super vet” Noel Fitzpatrick, he’s amazing and he performs real miracles with the work he does on animals, especially orthopaedics and prosthetics. He’s a pioneer in his field. Get well soon Onyx xx ♥️♥️

Onyx seems like she will recover well. Emma is a good little caretaker! My daughter and I recently bought a house together and we got an all gray Cane Corso with amber eyes. She's gentle with children also. Named her Daisy. Then a month ago we got an adoption male puppy to keep her company and occupied. He's a mixed breed, not quite sure what breed. Lol
@rayn87402 жыл бұрын
"Doucement, doucement." You're breaking my heart Edd. This is a bittersweet episode. It made me smile and shed a few tears too. It's always so sad when our four-legged friends go through these ordeals. Line-breeding or incest breeding is such an unfortunate reality and difficult to avoid for many pet owners. I've rejected numerous pets for this very reason, including freshwater fish for my aquariums. They tend to have many health issues and then die very young, which I suppose can be a blessing for some of them. It's sad that this pactice persists among unscrupulous breeders, who are clearly not what I would call "animal lovers." It's a huge problem here in the U.S., especially with so many new designer breeds popping up. My sister received a Pomeranian puppy from her fiancée back in 1973. He bought it from a "reputable" local kennel that boasted having over 100 breeds to pick from. What a nightmare something as special as the gift of a sweet little puppy turned into. The miniaturizing of breeds is also problematic with sometimes tragic results. Hopefully no one blames you for what's happening to Onyx. Selecting a pet or companion animal is such an emotional experience. It's so easy to make a mistake. From you own explanation of why you chose Cane Corsos, you'd obviously given the decision some thoughtful consideration. The whole justification of breeders is that they are supposed to be the experts on their breed/s. There are breeds I refuse to consider solely because of the issues inherent in their breed. A mere pedigree doesn't ensure a life without problems. I applaud your willingness and compassion to choose the most expensive and humane option when no one would ever have known otherwise. Integrity is what you do when no one is watching. You're also setting a good example for your children. I hope that your fortunes are enriched many fold for your act of compassion. I enjoy watching your vlogs more and more. It's good to see your humanity as well as your cheeky comments. I wish you and your family happiness and good fortune! Crack on!

I’ve noticed the bond Emma has with the dogs. It is so enduring considering the size of a cane corso and little Emma. I have an acquaintance that breeds award winning cane corsos. She is here the U.S. but allot of her stock comes from Europe. They are great family dogs as long as the owner socializes and trains them well. I hope she recovers well.

My dog had the same or similar surgery earlier this year. Recovery was long and slow. It took her over 3 months to get back to her normal. The outcome of the surgery was positive and my dog is able to run and play again with minimal limping. During recovery I found icing the leg after the short walks helped the healing/swelling. A bag of frozen peas works great 🙂 . Our vet suggested having non slip mats down, massaging the leg and doing passive range of motion. Wishing your girl a good recovery. She looks like she's doing great already.❤️

Sorry to hear about Onyx's knee problem, torn cruciate ligament. It’s a common problem. We were extremely worried for our dog, especially the need to restrain their activity for 12 weeks after surgery and avoid them running, jumping, climbing stairs, etc. It was a difficult 3 months but the surgery really does work as long as you keep them rested and allow the 3 month recovery period. Our dog had his TPLO surgery in Hong Kong. USD$10K! So we are glad to hear its much cheaper in France (where we have just moved -- with our dogs!). Good luck with your dogs recovery.

Two of those included knee work from MRSA with the best surgeons, 325 miles apart in Las Vegas, Nevada and Brentwood, California. Summer was not yet 5 years old the first surgery and over 7 years for the second ACL surgery. Both were difficult and Both extended her ability to run and dig and play. She was my greatest love. I have 2 female English mastiffs now but have had English mastiffs over 25 years. She may always have to be kept closer to home but that just gives you more of a chance to love 💕 on her. These big guys are built for comfort lol not speed lol. My girls are 150 lbs (68 k) and 230 lbs (104 k). I do understand vetting them is VERY pricy. Just spent almost $4k saving the smaller one but she’s almost 11 yo and that is EXTREMELY elderly but if I could I was going to save her. They are so very special. Welcome to the poor house of mastiff guardianship. Your girls are gorgeous. Everyone you get will steal your heart in their own special way. They’re beautiful girls! My niece has one and they are truly gentle giants! I’ve also had an entire year of back and forth with the vet. It started with my boys platelets bottoming out. He has an autoimmune disorder, most likely caused by double Merle breeding. Then this October had an eye ulcer which is one expensive operation, but he recovered famously and then there was the $600 bacteria infection! It only costed so much bc of running test to make sure his platelets were still in normal range and the X-ray to make sure he didn’t have an obstruction….deep sigh. I love the darling any way and he is probably the sweetest dog I’ve ever had in my life!

I hope that Onyx makes a full recovery she is such a sweet beautiful girl as well as her sister. Dogs are like family, they are like children that are with us for a shorter life. Dog ownership can be very expensive and any vet bills can be especially expensive for bigger breeds that can have more health issues, it’s always best to have money set aside or if that is not financially feasible then perhaps choose not to have a dog or two as no matter how well you take care of them accidents can happen.

My 10 year old Australian cattle dog had her back right knee/leg repaired 8 weeks ago now. The vet will give you instructions for therapy exercises. Walking in figure 8s, walking over small obstacles on the ground so she is lifting and turning her leg to give it back the movement from prior surgery. Our dog goes back for second leg at end of December. So like your dog, Spring is the hope for brighter days. The surgeries are $4,500 each knee here in my part of US. By the way, the cone is for when it starts to heal and you are sleeping and not watching her every move. We used the cone at night

Oh man, my dog had to have TPLO surgery on both legs within a few months of each other, and it was so expensive, but I was glad we bit the bullet and spent the money to have it done. She's right as rain now, and can run and play and is mostly recovered. The biggest thing they told me was to make sure that she had range of movement in the knee by doing physical therapy and manually moving her leg and stretching the knee while she recovered. I'm sure you're getting great guidance from your vet and surgeon. In any case, best wishes for a quick and smooth recovery. Dogs are so resilient.

Prays from Delaware for Onyx and a solid healthy recovery too! They are both beautiful gentle dogs! I had my dog for 18 years, their love for us is unconditional. All the best!

Your dogs have struck me as such an extraordinary pair of pals and protectors for your family and home! To see them together in the videos roaming the property, it is actually breathtaking to witness their gentle spirits yet formidable appearances! We love our dogs and consider them part of our family, our hearts and prayers go out to you all and Onyx and may she have the most brilliant recovery! Thank you for sharing this story and your tender care! XOXO

Loved how you went back to get the 2nd dog when she seemed sad and lonely when you first met her. So nice to hear their story. The pics/video of your little girl with the dog are just heart warming. I'm so sorry your poor fur baby is going through a terrible ordeal and the dogs have to be separated but you can tell that you live Onyx so much to do what's best for her. Beautiful dogs!! Praying she heals well.
