A bit of exterior work can really inspire a neighborhood. And getting rid of the corner squat made everyone feel safer and better about their own properties. It works in every neighborhood around the world. Even picking up area litter once a week can start a neighborhood/street revitalization, as can planting some pots of colourful flowers. Doesn't take a lot to inspire each other. And, once you get to know your neighbors there are economies of scale where you can give each other a helping hand (even if just mugs of tea) and share tools and skills. And then, once the streetscape perks up, local government starts paying attention and providing better services. You, Edd and Anna, are doing more than restoring an abandoned property. You are increasing neighborhood safety, values, and desirability in the area!❤❤

while a back support is good to wear he really should be working on his CORE Ed ask a physio it takes 5 minutes in the morning and you can do it before you get out of bed.

Edd, Don’t know how you managed completing the window and shutter installation with your back issue. Just going up and down the ladder takes it’s toll. Now add in the size and weight of the shutters to the mix. Bravo for gutting it out. All your fellow and lady back sufferers salute you.

It's so good to see you are able to work again, Edd. I love the banter between you and Anna, and how you both support each other so much. Do please remember to do physical therapy exercises daily to strengthen your core. Wearing the brace will help your pain but it will also weaken your core if you don't work on it as well. Even a few minutes a couple of times a day makes a huge difference. I apologize if you have heard this too much already, but it's just so important! I want you to thrive and continue working for many years yet. It's wonderful to watch the progress this place, it's really starting to come together now. I do love getting to watch all the new improvements. ❤️

I had to Google "Persian shutters" to figure out what they were, and this vlog is the first video that comes up by way of explanation! Here in Washington state those are usually called cafe shutters, and they're mounted inside the room, not on the exterior. If the shutters are on the exterior, they're mosty fixed, just for decoration and don't have moveable louvers. Funny about the neighbors doing their own DIY. You are raising the ambiance of the entire street!

You are right Edd because when you had it the other way round the louvers were facing up... which would NOT be good as then the rain would come in ... with the louvers facing down rain goes down. But it is fun to see that you are influencing the neighborhood... can't wait to see what it will look like with that grand door on.
