Edd, the vents can pull a surprising amount of air, although installing in the ceiling is the best. We have them and we're in a very wet climate so they do a fabulous job of reducing the moisture in the house. I must say, I am DYING to see the finished front door!!❤❤

Edd, while the holes will be hidden, you really should fill the gap with fireproof foam! So the fire doesn’t run into the ceiling space. Many fires spread by hidden holes!

Here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 the system you’re installing is called a ducted air exchange system. Usually run to compliment heating and cooling systems which also exchange dirty indoor air with purified outside air.

I have seen the finished part of this type of ventilation works so it all seems fine to me. it will be interesting to see the kitchen vents go in as well. Neve boring to me always an interesting thing to learn how it's done so I can if I ever supervised and checked builders work I can make sure what they are doing is right. Lovely to see the kids :) I had the same shoes Anna once many years ago. Well done Edd and Anna :)
