cool train. I always find paper checking and things nerve racking. I miss getting stamped in Europe though

+Katest3r I hear ya Kate - some borders are friendlier than others. I took a bus from London to Dover and a ferry to Calais and then rented a car to drive around France, which I dropped off in Paris, but after that, it was all train travel across Europe...all the way to Istanbul. It is usually slower, but I've always enjoyed train travel.

As someone who lives in a country that doesn't share a land border with any other country (Australia), I have always been interested in how countries that do share land borders mark out the border between them, and the way that people are allowed to cross the border.
@DavidisDawei6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it has evolved from nothing to craziness in the last 100 years. If we consider economics only Without getting into a discussion on terrorism, would borders be needed if there was no government assistance? Those who came to suck the system would not be attracted to that country.

If you do not go on a road or on a path that is maintained, you have no idea in which land you are. In the EU we do not care anymore:) I crossed to Slovakia accidentally while hiking.

I did take the train from Ljubljana to Zagreb in the afternoon, July/2005. After last Slovenian town, officers checked passports on board and mine (S. American) got stamped. No big deal. Arriving into Croatia, train remained on station while passports were quicly checked. But no stamps. All was easy...

@haaao16 жыл бұрын
DavidisDawei I am Brazilian as well. Travelled a lot in 2005-2006. Sometimes Hungarians were not sure what to do and had to ask a colleague. But all in all I never had difficulties travelling in Europe.

I was 3 times from Czech Republic to Poland by train and once to Germany by bus and I've never met any border checks or officers. Why they doing this in Croatia?
@DavidisDawei4 жыл бұрын
At that time, I think that was where the EU border required these checks

@@virus.exe0 I didn't know Croatia is not in schengen. I've been to Croatia by train last year and slovenians and croatians are doing border checks, I don't know why Slovenians, maybe they must check who is leaving schengen, it's weird experience for me, I experienced border check last time in Switzerland in 2007, I never left schengen since that time.

Can we get shengen visa from Croatia 🇭🇷 plz tell me sir
@DavidisDawei4 жыл бұрын
This video was recorded several years ago, so I suspect things have changed due to the migration overflow. On this trip, I started in London and I did not need to get a visa to enter any country, but at the border between Hungary and Croatia, was the first time I had my passport inspected since landing in London. My passport does not need a visa. Some countries issue a visa on arrival, but the European Union is probably more bureaucratic than that. I suspect you need to apply for a visa to enter the EU weeks or months in advance. Look online at the embassy of the country you want to visit and they will give you detailed instructions on if you need a a visa and how tot apply.

happy khan Croatia is NOT in schengen BUT they do have the same visa so yes if you are entering Schengen from Croatia then you are alright

I thought so, but some of the commenters have said they were Hungarian.

Ok, for some silly reason I had Slovenia in mind still ... I wondered as I saw a blue uniform, and remember Croatians wore all black. Slovenians wore blue, and so do Hungarians. Hungarians are fussy, Croatians don't care much :-)

Yes, a Visa was Not required. I landed in London and took the train across Europe. My passport was stamped in England, but not stamped again or asked for again until this border crossing.
@daylightflute6 жыл бұрын
That's because after leaving UK (I guess to France) you entered the Schengen zone(EU+Iceland, Norway, Switzerland but excluding UK and Ireland). Croatia while being member of EU, is still not member of the Schengen zone (no border control), same for Romania and Bulgaria.

+World Traveler东北 Warm , comfortable and light weight. I bring one carry on when I travel, so it is difficult to bring a lot. Traveling to one place with one climate is easy to plan for, but when I go to a country or region with warm and cold or dry and wet, then it requires more gear and makes it more difficult to fit everything into a pack; you end up wearing the same clothes more frequently
