5:50 I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that ability adds elemental gun damage, not action skill damage. It says it converts gun damage to the elemental damage TYPE of your action akill.

I agree because I use this and if I use a fire weapon but have my action skill set to shock my weapon damage does both on an enemy, having nothing to do with using my action skill.

It doesnt add elemental, it converts it. If you have a gun that does 1000 damage, and infusion converts 20% You'll be doing 800 regular damage and 200 of your chosen element. It's great if your shock because regular guns drain shields faster etc but also bad against enemies immune to that element.

It might convert it to an element but you also have multiple skills that increase elemental dmg. So turning 200 dmg into 200 shock will shock longer and harder for more than 200

@@danguskhan07 that is the main benefit of infusion, but it works the other way too. You go up against an enemy resistant to your element and all your weapons will be doing a lot less damage.

The Infusion perk doesn't do anything to effect your action skill. What it does is covert a portion of YOUR damage that YOU deal with YOUR weapons. So you could technically be dealing 30% more damage because if the Tempest perk and an additional 20% shock damage. Needless to say, I found the perk useful. Violent tapestry only works if you're consuming the rush stacks.

You are incorrect about infusion. It converts a % weapon damage into the element you are using for your action skill. It is quite useful and adds a lot of utility. Can add elemental damage to high damage jakobs guns, or can inflict 2 elements at once (ie. using a corrosive gun with infusion damage being set to fire means you are doing corrosive and fire damage at the same time). Personally i like to use it to add elemental damage to the high damage of jakobs revolvers....its awesome.

@sir loin It definitely _is_ bugged. If you are using the *same* element weapon as your action skill element, infusion doesn't double up or increase that element's damage, it _replaces it_ and you'll literally be doing less damage than without any points in Infusion. Search for Moxsy's video "Don't Spec Infusion on Amara" and you can see a demonstration of this. If you select an element for your action skill and then literally only use weapons that are something other than that element it works correctly.

@sir loin whether you think it's supposed to double up or not it doesn't change the fact that you literally do _less_ damage with it than without it if your weapon is the same element. Again, watch the video. No points into Infusion, shock weapon + shock element on action skill he shows the dot ticks, then puts 5 points into Infusion and shows the ticks on the same enemy and they're less than half what they were when he had no points in it. There's nothing you can call that other than a bug. If it stacked or increased that element's damage it would be fine, but it doesn't - it _replaces_ it. It's still usable _so long as you use it correctly_ i.e. your weapon is either non-elemental or a different element from what you have slotted for your action skill, but there's no way the way it currently works is intended when it comes to double elements. There's no way you're going to convince me that they intended for you to be doing _less_ damage after spending passive points than before.

@sir loin there's nothing counter intuitive about it if it just outright adds [insert element type] damage on top, which is what it should be doing. There is zero chance that the intended behavior is X damage without points in it and then put points into it and now if you happen to have the same element between them you're suddenly doing 40% of the damage you were before you put any points into it. Zero. Yes, the idea is combining elements (or adding an element to a non-elemental weapon), but that doesn't suddenly make the current interaction with two of the same element correct either. Stop making excuses for something that anyone can see clearly isn't the intended behavior. "It isn't broken as long as you don't use the part of it that's broken" doesn't get anything fixed. It is usable now, yes. That doesn't mean that it isn't bugged. They're not mutually exclusive.

I think you are mistaking what Infusion does (or I am). I believe it converts a % of your gun damage to the element you have chosen for your action skill. If so, this means that, with 5 pts invested, 40% of your weapon damage is converted to elemental. Then add all the elemental procs and its a pretty decent damage increase. Particularly if you are using a non elemental weapon, which this makes somewhat viable. Or, you are correct and all that above is worthless.

@@MonkNZ this is 100% correct. ive spent more hours than most of these people on testing. Fire weap with Ele augment seems to output the most damage with no nerfs from infusion or other bugs. in general i have seen some bugs where damage isn't calculating correctly for a few seconds, idk why and i have no explanation for this. but the infusion talent is enough to instantly kill a shield on Mayhem 3- leaving fire weapons typically the best. Cutsman is hands down the best wave clearing or stacked mob gun. period. Purple host shotguns with high ele damage also work nice

With the rush stacks, that’s an extra 5 stacks you can earn, so you can have up to 15 stacks with this build, so that’s 150% Action Skill cooldown and 45% Gun Damage. You can increase those even further if you get Avatar, which gives you +10 stacks AND 2 action skill uses per full cooldown while also allowing you to earn half that stacks your action skill gets a kill.

Also that's not how infusion works. It doesn't convert gun damage to your ability skill. It says clearly "ability skill element". That means if you have fire as your element set in the talent tree, then your gun converts its damage to that element.

Hey man good video might try this build.. however I think you misunderstand infusion skill. It adds 40%of you active skill element type to all guns. So if your grasp is shock element it adds(or converts) 40% shock damage to shots fired it doesn't add the active skill damage to guns.

Infusion doesn't boost damage on Phasegrasp. It converts the a portion of weapon damage to whatever element your Action Skill is-- it basically gives your weapons an artificial element dps bonus.

Infusion is explained wrong in this video. What it does is turn a percentage of your gun damage into Elemental damage. The Elemental damage type depends on what type your using with you Action Skill. So if you have the Soulfire perk from the side of the Fist of Elements tree, a portion of your guns damage will be Incendiary. Infusion is not as useless as this guy thinks it is. Just trying to let people know.

You misunderstood infusion, it simply converts a part of your gun damage into whatever element the action skill is. So that is good for non-elemental guns or for dual elemental (i.e shock+fire combo, good for most mobs that have some extra shield type). And if the shock portion is then uneffective on flesh, theres the bonus shock damage that makes up the difference some, and with spread youll both set fire to flesh, and shock away shield on other enemies at the same time.

And yeah, catharsis isnt for damage in itself, but for spreading the status effects even further or even re-apply to enemies, the initial explosion damage doesnt matter if the DOT is scaled up and kept going

Also you don't need to put skill points into a tree to use the action skill. You can use any action skill without even having skill points spent. So people you don't need to sink 5 points or even 1 point into something just to use the action skill for that tree

Btw a better mobbing buildis using Do Harm, your Link damage from ties that bind is effected by do harm meaning Rush is actually an overpowered effect in comparison, this variation where you use the blue tree most is better for mobbing AND bossing. Essentially for mobbing you run wildfire ties that bind and soul sap, your main gun is going to be one of the four call weapons (Lucians/rowsns for mobs kings/queens for bosses) cloud kill, an elemental version of the barrage, the lyuda, and double penetrating elemental torgue, etc. Also Remnant is the single best talent in the game for mobbing so your build is VERY suboptimal because gun damage means nothing in speed mobbing, alao avatar is the best anaea capstone the red capstone is BAAAAD like infusion it makes your guns that are already elemental weaker

Catharsis is very good, at 5/5 I have the orb hit upwards of 100-120k while everything is active. Orbs are flying around constantly wiping people in one hit.

@NickTew Your understanding of the skill Infusion is actually wrong. Whatever element your Grasp is (Shock, Fire, Corrosive) Infusion makes x % of your damage the same. So if you are using base Phasegrasp (Shock-Blue) then all your weapons do a % of its damage as Shock damage. This is a very powerful skill. I use Fire as my Phase augment and use shock weapons which will deal Shock and Fire damage with every shot, to ALL enemies that are not immune to Fire / Shock.

PSA: I havent seen anybody else doing it/mentioning it. I have a melee build that uses ("uses") phasegrasp. I say "uses" because i look at a wall/at the ground to get the "activate ability" bonuses and since im not hitting any enemies, i get the effects and an instant recharge for bonus health regen and bonus melee range. Easy to level with so far. Might get patched but i found it on my own. Not sure if anyone else discovered it or not

you explained infusion wrong, after testing infusion it does more DPS, since if using a shotgun like the Brainstormer which is a electric shotgun, with the element to electric it adds a portion of the non elemental damage the gun does to elemental. IT does not have to do anything with dpsing the enemy with phasegrasp.

Nah, Amara is pretty on par with FL4K. Not in terms of Crits, but in overall raw damage. Her action skills are more useful than either Zane's or Moze's.

You're reading infusion wrong. It has nothing to do with USING your action skill. Just the element attached to your AS. I noticed a lot of builds don't use it but i think it's great for leveling. Since most of the time you're just using the guns that drop and aren't farming (what's the point if you're not max level right?). So this basically allows you to make a non elemental weapon into a fire, shock, etc...or make a weapon dual elements which is amazing for shielded fleshies. Late game I'll probably Respec and take it off once I get all my guns that cover each element. Cough* I want a level 50 tsunami :( cough*

kinda but not really there is a build that you can stack them to 99 there is a mod that givess you 25 stacks per use of your actionskill and since phase grasp doesnt trigger a coold down if you dont hit anything with it you can just spam it 4-6 times and get to max stacks
