For the past TWO weeks I have been farming for a decent hustler COM for the Zane borespolsion build, this is even more painful since I'm on the Xbox legacy console. Sadly match making has been trash since launch. The best place to find people to play with in on Twitch on BL3 streams. Either the streamer or viewers will often play with you. The other bad news LOL... you need that artifact for the build, it really makes a difference.

Does anyone know if this works for PS5/next gen consoles in 2024? The Toboggan splash damage hidden effect doesnt, and the Complex Root doesnt, but is this build/Eraser+Explosion still viable?

It is, but without the bugged splash damage radius it is much harder to proc. For best results on Next Gen shoot Down toward the floor in the hopes of getting the explosion radius of your shot and your bonus explosion to cross radius for the big damage interaction. Still spec for extra splash radius on as much gear as possible.

*Edit* The critical weapon damage passive on Hustler only works on true crits. It seems that this passive strangely doesn't increase Hustler Crit damage.

Yes. This is why we choose cryo weapons to avoid being Dot'd as the cryo DoT does 0 damage. Eraser explosions can hit everything, especially with the Complex Root.

i feal like that hustler is imposoble to drop...i actualy did 100+ runs on locomotive alredy and still no perfect hustler , and i dont think i can find any better build since i can kill locomotive rly fast

A better place to farm for Hustler (IMO) is to do the quest A Good Egg in the Krieg DLC then farm the miniboss from the end of that mission. Wear a Shlooter too if you can. That miniboss has a very high drop rate for Coms.

What platform are you on? The complex root bug is platform exclusive. It only works on PC and previous gen consoles( XB1, PS4). On the PS5 and Series X the root is weak asf. Adding any passive Splash Damage bonus doesn't make a difference on next gen consoles, the root won't nuke your screen.I learned that the hard way when I switched to next gen. My whole build was gutted.

This is both true and untrue haha. Yes you got nerfed, but not by what you think you got nerfed by. The Root bug requires overlapping AOE explosions to occur. On next gen consoles the BUGGED AOE radius boost is no longer present in the second passive position on artifacts. This will cause your explosive radius to go way down. In short though you can, in fact, still use this combo. The caveat is that you need to get your explosions to occur closer together than on PC and last gen. This causes the build to feel a lot weaker as it is much harder to use. Also, even when you do get your overlapped Eraser procs, they are smaller in radius. The damage is all still there though. Short answer, yeah nerfed on next gen, but not for damage, for radius. Also this was recorded on PS4

Yes, the Radius is the most important part for the interaction. The other parts just add more damage.

Yes I was on PS4 at the time. The Complex Root really doesn't work well on PS5 and Xbox S. They changed the engine somehow.

Cryo damage. I'm using a cryo root and even though I am getting hit by for massive DoT potential... BL3 doesn't have cryo do DoT damage. You only get slowed and thusly it's easy to live through the shots from a cryo root regardless of your damage output or radius.

There have been no balance patches since this came out. Still totally viable. Make sure you do all the things, including continuing to hold ADS long after the shot :)

Not too much. But cryo is probably best for 2 reasons. 1) zane gets cryo damage boosts. And 2) it won’t kill him with DOT damage

Correct, on next Gen consoles the Artifact doesn't get the addition radius from Area Dmg bonuses when it is in the second or third slot. I have no idea why they changed it like that as it works fine on PC Basically you CAN get the effect but it's harder as your explosions need to go off closer together.

The major keys to damage are: Stack the skill Art of War 10 times. Weapon swap before each shot. Only shoot at max movement speed. Hold your aim down sights button as long as possible to max out your damage.

It really depends on what you want from the game but, DLC 5 Designer's cut added the 4th purple skill tree. It's Zane's best skill tree, so I would tend to recommend getting that if you are only getting one DLC.

@@WillFuI The build CAN work with an Antifreeze, if you can hit crits only. Eraser doesn't NEED hustler to go crazy. Get a splash radius and damage roll on the Anti and you can use the cryo to move even faster. That variant just felt hard to recommend as a build for everyone. Too many skill shots needed at CRAZY speed haha!

@@andreablanco7882 Okay, do you have all the gear in the video, or at least close enough? As you are on PC I will assume so. TO Achieve the max results seen here you need to: 1 - Weapon swap to trigger Cold Bore, 2 - Use your action skill 10x to Stack Art of War, 3 - Slide to trigger the Amp from Toboggan, 4 - Try to only fire when you are moving at Max speed to get the best bonus from your speed skills, 5 - Try to hit True Crits for bigger Damage, 6 - Stay Aimed down Sight (ADS) to get the bonus from Our Man Flynt. Sometimes LONG after your shot. Hope that helps!

@@andreablanco7882 Duct tape mod only makes you immune to self Splash damage. This is why we use Cryo as the element on your gun; your gun's element will still hit you. Cryo hits for 0 dmg. If you have any ASE anoints on your build, those will nuke you too.

Spent hours trying to get one splash radius Hustler back when the level capped at 65 before the Shlooter was introduced. The DLC4 boss loot pools are saturated as well.

Don't farm it from locomobius. Farm it from the guy in the robot stage, I forget his name now. Sidequest minibuses, super easy farm. Took me 2 hours to get a splash damage hustler.

The Beskar is the only shield you can use for the Reflect trick. You can replace it with anything you would like though in general. Rad Suit works well, Re-Volter can do some magic, etc.
