Borderlands 3 Torgue Non-Unique Item Guide - The Purple Box

So the Blister is able to roll as a true "Double Penetrating" though takes 3 ammo per shot. I assumed it couldn't roll as this since the normal one has the double penetrating prefix, has the unlisted increased base damage that "x2" beam-type weapons have, and that in my years of playing this game I couldn't think of a single time I saw one roll with a 3 ammo cost. Haven't tested it myself, but I assume the damage on it is still decent but the ammo cost is probably far more noticable.

There is a youtuber "agent lomax" who made a series of weapons part guides of each manufacturer weapon category. Sadly he didn't finish the series. Torgue Pistols and Maliwan shotguns never released. Right now you are the only Borderlands youtuber I think is capable of getting the job done

I love to see another Purple Box episode. Hopefully you cover either DAHL or Hyperion since I love those gun types, especially the Hyperion guns... shame that they didn't bring back pistols.

I'll say this: The firing sounds for Torgue's weapons in Borderlands 3 are far superior to those from Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel. Shotties and launchers in 2 sounded fine but the pistols and ARs were wimpy sounding as all hell.

This is a great video. It reminds me of Derch's old BL2 videos where he analyzes weapons by type and their mechanics. I loved that series and this most definitely seems like a kind of spiritual successor. Subbed to your channel. Great video and work!

The Double Penetrating Bologna Pony is BEAST!!!! Ever since i found a green on release day, then a blue and purple. Kept them in my vault for my new VH’s Now on Switch same thing.

Thanks for this series. I just started playing Borderlands 3. I never been real into the looter-shooter RPG sorts games. The Division 2 kinda soured me. My buddy bought me Wonderlands when it was dirt cheap to play co-op and it turns out I love these games. So thanks for this, cus there are endless Legendary guides, nobody was doing the purples. And I use them. I don't try to farm up perfect gear in a story playthrough, I find its more fun to use what RNJesus blesses me with. And then after the story is done, I will go hunt down gear for the mayhem levels. I haven't taken the time to do comparative tests and have been wondering what subtle differences between models ther is and which have special seconday functions and stuff.

For your next Forgotten you should cover the Alchemist. Gun used to be super good on Moze at Launch then it fell right off as everything else around it got buffed.

I remember seeing a segment about torgue launchers in some video years ago. I don’t remember the details but weapon parts seem to have a mayor impact on how well the sticky performs.

I just went through all of your purple box guides. They're really useful and interesting! Thank you for making them. I've ignored non-unique gear completely for so long it was good to be reminded of all the cool stuff the just comes as standard on basic weapons. I'm excited to apply what I've learned to arms race runs and new playthroughs. Thanks! :D I'm excited to see you get round to the other manufacturers. Especially Vladov and Maliwan coz they have the sexy under-barrel shenanagins and varied projectile types, respectively. (I never could figure out Maliwan shotguns ngl so it would be nice if you figured them out for me ;p)

the true power of the quickie is using some for the road on moze and spam stickies because tit gets a 50% bonus damager per stickie with the x1, especially if you swap to a guardian angel. also the protuberance is my 2nd favorite weapon in the game

I think I realized what's missing from these purple series. You need to do arms race with some of these guns that you say don't work. Because I posit some of them don't work well with mayhem scaling. The lump, for example, kills in arms race. While even in arms race, the poney is still not worth using.

It's a great idea, but it'd be incredibly difficult to do for all weapons. Point of this series is also more to showcase what these guns can do during the actual endgame of BL3, though I might do a separate video in the future going over the best classes of weapons for Arms Race.

I think the ARs could have been salvageable if they were fully auto Then your finger wouldn’t hurt but you also get to make use of fire rate boosts

Hm only just now learning that the % bonus damage doesnt stack for every projectile in a shot. I was under the impression they did (as in that a x18 bangstick stacked the bonus 18 times in a single shot). Kinda disappointed it doesn't work like that but ig it makes sense for balance reasons.

Jokes aside seriously good video, would love to see you do grenades and shields cause there are some pretty broken rolls in the game, cluster fuck nuke grenades come to mind, as well as the cloning maddening tracker but im sure there is more.
