I think it's also important to note that the planet in the trailer has earth-like grass, trees, leaves, night sky, etc. And fire is possible meaning an oxygen rich atmosphere. It would be a stretch to call it earth but it is definitely a habitable planet for living things. It looks like the hands on zer0's suit (besides the obvious digit count). He did mention other assassins at one point. Maybe they are eridian descendants. Or maybe we went back in time.

Good observation, it is in that same style when they telepathically communicate with you. Could be the 7th siren. Would kinda be funny if this siren was the real Handsome Jack and the mark placed on him turned him into a Siren. I don't think it's going to be a tear in space but more along the theory of it being a cloak/shield being torn into. When the collision takes place and you see the shock wave travel along, it follows a path that, at least to me, appears to be spherical suggesting a shield encapsulating and hiding a planet. As far as what's on the planet and whether they're prisoners or hiding, hard to tell for sure right now.

I think it makes more sense that the planet had a shield generator (Star Wars/Stellaris Style) and that the moon shattered the fact it was hidden. I think it'd make more sense for it to be prison world, not a sanctuary for Eridians. It also doesn't explain the very obvious fact that it's a metal hand with longer, welded on nails. It is not biological, so if it was an Eridian it'd be an A.I. I think it's more likely a cyborg, or robot of some kind. Especially since the joint for the thumb is a ball that's perfect for such a creation, and not at all for a biological one.

Ngl, I kinda like the idea that it's a mirrored Universe. With a different version of Handsome Jack on said planet, but perhaps a good guy. I also like the idea of an A.I Jack still out there trying to conquer the galaxies, could make for an interesting sub-plot where we essentially see that Jack being evil was a choice he made, and not something that was out of his control like it mostly was in the current timeline. That said, I'm a Jack fanboy so I take Handsome Jacopium daily that he'll return in some manner.

Maybe the vault symbol is backwards because we are looking at the reflection from the inside of the psycho mask as Jack puts it on. He was stuck in the machine at the end of Tales and maybe he got out and is in a new machine. We do know he loves his masks. That's my theory. Calling it now. But also, yes, this has to be the big war the Watcher warned about. And finally, if Pandora was created out of eridium to be a planet wide prison for the destroyer, the wall that the moon crashed into may be the barrier created for the galaxy that was walled off as another layer of protection. Like putting the box in a box. And right on the other side of the wall are actual eridians that were monitoring their prison boxes. Less sure about this guess though.

All I want is for BL4 to be the penultimate BL game, the strength of the story and writing of 2, gameplay mechanics, movement of 3, 4 bad ass new vault hunters, with epic abilities, (or being able to make our first ever customer character as one of the vault hunters, choosing abilities, class, etc), adding the ability to choose from the other surviving vault hunters from prior games, as this should be the beginning of the end, THE WAR from the Pre-Sequel should begin here and as was stated in that game: we need as many vault hunters as possible. Praying that this game actually does well, give us a great story, relatable characters, no agenda, or "messages" in our world of Pandora, (and wherever else the story takes us), just bloody, gun filled, hilarious fun. 🙏🏾💯

Three things of note: 1. The mask that is found is a Psycho mask - but as far as we know, there were no Psychos on Elpis, at least by the time of Pre-Sequel. Yet one came crashing down here. 2. While the icon over the face is mirrored compared to Jack - it's also *exactly* how Jack would have seen it himself before it got burned into his face. If it is intentional, that could indicate that Jack is somehow back and potentially playable. 3. In regards to both: Psycho masks also got the vault-symbol on them, albeit not tilted. And suddenly there being a Psycho-Mask when there shouldn't...

My guess is this is (finally) the war the Watcher mentioned. Elpis cracked the force-field, but my belief isn't it was meant to keep something out, but rather keep something IN. I'd guess the 7th Siren is there, and Lilith's presence awakens her, or powers her in some fashion. This could cause the Guardians to attack, viewing humanity as causing little more than problems.

My pet theory is that Elpis is shattering a barrier between dimensions. Lilith's phase walk involves dimensional travel, so IMO it makes more sense for this to be a matter of breaching a barrier into the _dimension_ the Eridians came from, instead of breaking a cloaking shield or etc. I'm still of the opinion that this is the Eridian's true homeworld. It's definitely Eridian related because the hand is that of a guardian, but the structures we see appear to be _actually suited as homes_ instead of the utilitarian structures we see on Nekrotafeyo, which is what gives me that impression. Ok, now to tread into crazier speculation: -Is it possible that the people of Minos Prime were _evacuated_ into this dimension as a "humane" way of destroying their home? -If so, why would The Watcher have reason to believe this third party controlling Eridian guardians remotely would start a war? -And if this third party are still living Eridians, same question, how/why would they be dangerous, exactly? The Eridians clearly showed an inclination to self sacrifice to stop The Destroyer, not this. -Given this information, is it _impossible_ that a group of humans made it to the Eridian homeworld before, hijacked control of much of their technology remotely, causing various sus guardian activities, while they still conduct themselves with some care for human life but ultimately with a corporation's motivations? Thus causing The Watcher's warning about a probable war? -And given that assumption, who else could it be but the DAHL corporation?

Well yes except that timothy also States how ALL the dopps were called to the casino and subsequently killed, sans Tim. Secondly, he only saw so far before he was interrupted and punched in the face. Which as we saw was up to the warrior and its location and a few things about what he needed to do. Lastly, in the pre sequel we learn timothy was the 1st Doppelganger only to be redesignated later with the hiring of More dopps. While we dont know how many all of these events took place before he was killed and he never foresaw his death but it stands to reason that after the Vault hunters of 2 killed 1 of his doubles and took his stuff dna and whatnot he could have called them all to the casino to make sure it didnt happen again only for him to die causing the lockdown and whatnot. I dont think jack would have budged because of how they got to his daughter and he didnt want them doing anything else detrimentally important to his operations.

It's either a new dimension or unvierse, but I think it's equally likely that it was a plentary shield generator/cloaking device. It's a fairly popular thing in sci-fi such as Stellaris, or Star Wars. However, being on the same planet but being able to travel between this one and the alternate one is actually a really interesting mechanic and plot device. It also manages to fit in with real life theories about how everything has a perfect opposite, meaning that their would have to be a universe the opposite of ours. One made of anti-matter where time runs backwards.... Which also could explain how the watcher knows of the future, because the Eridians are from this alternate dimension and so they already witnessed the end because that was their beginning.

While I’m not completely opposed to the idea of reviving past vault hunters and other important characters, there’s still ONE stipulation to this concept. How exactly is the shard supposed to revive past characters if it doesn’t have a physical reference of the person they’re reviving? The only exception would be Maya As mentioned in Krieg’s dlc, sirens are able to imbue their memories into physical objects (in Maya’s case, her book.) So even with Troy completely reducing her body to dust, there’s still TECHNICALLY a physical piece of her left.

I'm usually against the idea of reviving dead characters, as you said, it defeats the purpose of all the emotional bits and moments in past games, but at the same time, in this universe it really doesn't matter much, game's crazy as it is so this isn't a terrible idea. And, in my personal opinion, I always wanted a BL game where you could play as every single Vault Hunter from every previous game and this might just be it lol

The barrier that Elpis smashes in interesting. It's completely invisible until contact and reveals the planet beneath it almost like it was hiding, protecting, or locking in the planet we see the metorites crash on. It makes me think this place was never meant to be found like it's some kind of Eden that needed to be protected against corruption.

If this is meant to be the ‘war’, then I think it’s only right that the Destroyer is still alive and takes center stage It’s always been a looming presence but never the full fleshed out villain, normally just a tool This thing is supposed to get stronger and smarter with everything it consumes while also being immortal, and thus it’s the only thing I can imagine we’d need that god like crystal plot device to kill permanently

Actually, now that you mention it. The crystal is the perfect solution to something that literally cannot die, simply deleting it's very existence is the only way to actually get rid of it. Using the crystal to bring back other Vault Hunters in order to fulfill the task also makes sense, but it is definitely one of those things that people will hate until they see the resolution and then go "Okay, I see the vision now."

I think the war is coming and the only way to win the war for our side will be to use Hyperion and the moon shot cannon. An army of robots are required, but they can only be summoned by Jack himself. They will either bring him back to life or Timothy will agree to have Jack permanently downloaded into his brain. In the end, the good guys will win, but Jack will go nuts again and BL5 will be about beating Jack once more.

You know what would be fire? Having all the Vault Hunters that are still alive be playable, plus a fourth set of Vault Hunters that are new. So Mordecai, Brick, Lilith, Salvador, Zero, Axton, Gaige, Krieg, Athena, Timothy, FragTrap, Zane, Amara, Fl4k, and Moze all be playable characters. You go on missions and they all have an effect on the story. Huge groups of Vault Hunters going around and actually working together to hunt Vaults and try to win whatever war the Watcher was talking about. I know that would be horrible to code and create but it would be amazing to see

In the description of the video on the Borderlands channel, it says we’ll ’assume the role of a legendary vault hunter’. The phrasing of this makes me think we will not be getting a choice of a group, but rather be forced to play as Lilith as she tries to escape from the planet.

I think I figured something out. I never played the DLC that introduces the Seer, but from what I know now, lemme cook; The Seer and Watcher have rivalling goals. The Watcher, though ALL of TPS is trying to stop the vaults from being opened. At least the ones on Pandora. Dahl Lost Legion fighters will occasionally say something like "Don't open the vaults." or something upon death. The Watcher does NOT want the Great Vault opening. The Seer on the other hand seems to WANT it opened. This might be what the Watcher meant by "War is coming". I think it'd be kind of cool if we found a guardian with Handsome Jack's corpse in 4, reading the burns on his face.

They could go all Marvel and not have Lilith in a different galaxy but a different DIMENSION. So then what was teased might not be Jack, but a Jack variant. There's also the fact that Timothy (Jack's doppelganger) is still around and (depending on how you played Tales) a digital copy of Jack's consciousness. So what if Digi-Jack somehow escapes as onto the ECHOnet and is trying to take out the Vault Hunters AND get Timothy's body as his own?

The reversal of the vault signal could be just what Handsome Jack saw from his perspective when it happened. It could’ve been a siren (maybe the lost siren) or whoever talking to him the way that angel did in the second Borderlands.

The hand/arm looks nothing like the watchers hand/arm though. We all hope it's a huge scale Eridian thing. But I honestly think it's not. It's Eden 5, Marcy's mum or relative. The hand looks like Gaige's, and Marcy and her family steal Gaige's tech. Marcy stole Deathtrap tech to make the bots, so they likely also stole Gaige's arm tech. They released a book this month set between BL2 & BL3, introducing Marcy's parents, Eden 5 and such. I think this was no accident. I think they released this story to introduce these characters to prepare for BL4. Similar to how they made DLC for BL2 to introduce characters and set things up in BL3. And Eden 5 is the planet of the wealthy elite. They put a $815 billion bounty on Gaige. They have the money and resources to put up a cloak force field around the planet. They are also heavily ESG/DEI now. So the big bag guy is going to be another big bad girl. It's not going to be an alien or a guy like Jack. They are going to try to make a batshit crazy rich woman the bad guy, and will try (and probably fail) to make her more memorable and impactful than Jack. That's my theory.

I feel like with Lillith potentially changing the future, its going to be a paradox situation, in one time-line competing to destroy the other, potentially alowing alternate versions of characters/enemies to come together, but also allowing past allies to also come together. This whole concept of “people being revived” was exactly how I imagined the “war” would be. But my imagination was more like a Valhalla feel where people from the past, both dead and alive are all assembled to fight for either side. One would probably be for the past eridians and another would probably be for the “new master”. That could probably be the “he” that’s in the trailer. Maybe the people who are revived will be controlled by the guardians/eridians. And maybe the two sides will have one side for the free will of humanity (such as sirens), and another side that’s for the relic just as The Seer.

I have two theories for the planet. Theory one is that it's not a new dimension or universe, but that it's a plentary shield or cloaking device that Elpise tore through. What is protecting or shielding? Unknown The other theory is based on a scientific theory of opposites. That it is another dimension, but it's the opposite dimension of our reality. Meaning it's an anti-matter universe, and time flows backwards. Perhaps a dimension that Lilith enters into for her Phasewalk, where her siren powers keep her safe from the affects of Anti-matter and matter collision and from the reverse time. It explains things like The Watcher knowing the end, because for them it was their start. I also think what is show is either A.) Alternate dimension Jack, or B.) A Male Siren I genuinely want Jack to come back in some way, if not him then maybe Timothy and have it be known that Jack saw this and was trying to prepare for this war but the Vault Hunters stopped him, and essentially made things harder. Giving Jack respect, adding more depth to the story, but not bringing him back. I think Timothy being a playable Vault Hunter is out of the question as I feel like he's too important of a character, I know canonically all of the vault hunters are traveling together so he could be one, but it would be a little strange if he was required but you're playing single player and not as him. I think that Jack needs to have a connection to the war in some way, but I do not think he needs to be brought back. That said, Jack could be the male siren, and he could have traveled to this place leaving behind a Jack clone knowing he'd die in order to get to this place for whatever his grand evil scheme is. It also helps make the story of 3 and new tales not be so dog ass, but Gearbox seems to hate living in Jack's shadow, so I highly doubt he'd be brought back in any method aside from references or speaking about him. Timothy might be the closest to Jack coming back we get. That said, Jack being a male siren, and the most dangerous one does fit all of the check boxes that we know of, and would make for a interesting story imo.

On one hand, it could lead to a lot of self reflection and improvement on the characterization side of things, on the other, it could be handled very poorly and ruin characters entirely. That being said if there is a chance Wilhelm comes back I am all for it, that guy was my favorite Vault Hunter.
