In B1 Assassin is best but all are excellent to use. In B2 They are all absolute garbage insanely bad to use except soldier. The assassin is second best because his abilities add critical damage and he is good with all guns and the literal rest are dam near unusable hell the mech chick can't even kill anything with her ability that is over level 15 even when she is level 100. She becomes incredibly garbage as she levels up facing stronger and stronger foes but she is far better than the big brute and the psycho which the psycho does fire punch damage while big brute can wield 2 weapons eventually but you can't aim them. Siren requires combos to do her abilities but holding a 100 hit combo to use her ability yea that is going to be a no on using her and she is only good with sub machine guns. In all B games soldier is only able to be effective with combat riffles and shot guns and his stats with all other types of guns are decreased. Siren is good with submachine guns and pistols. Big brute is good with rocket launchers and combat riffles. Mech girl is only good with submachine guns and pistols. Psycho can only use shot guns, and combat riffles and you can't equip sub machine guns, pistols, sniper riffles, nor rocket launchers. Assassin is efficient with all gun types but he has extra efficiency with pistols, sub machine guns, and even more efficiency with sniper riffles making him for regular gun use non special ability the best but the turret is so effective at AFK mowing down enemies he is actually a good unit. So its between do you want effective special ability or do you want effective you fighting which means Assassin or soldier are the only classes that are in reality usable the rest are trash at best if not outright unusable at all.

Fun fact, mose can turn her armor into a companion, like gages deathtrap. And in doing so, rather than controlling the armor, it just follows you around like a guardian and mows down your enemies while it does.

Yeah that’s the newest skill tree they added post launch. I usually use this because otherwise I end up spending too much time in the mech. You can pretty easily build it so you have 100% mech uptime with fuel upgrades, so I hardly ever got out to shoot my own guns, which is like… the core gameplay element of borderlands. Shooting the wacky and weird guns. Why bother when I can run around in a walking tank that shoots nukes 100% of the time?

I mean in gameplay, wilhelm is closest to the other soldier characters but in the lore itself athena is the one who is a soldier, since wilhelm is nothing more than a mercenary and athena was formerly a part of crimson lance. So it's like playing 2 soldiers 😁.

You died? I played with a buddy and got the turret attachment. Fuckin did more damage than he could so he'd hop in it and take advantage of the shield the mech also produced for the final boss. After the first 3 "big" encounters I didn't go down at all. If I got to half health I'd mech and clear everyone

I like how Roland had the healing effect when you shoot your teammates. Helped you ease into the support role as well and it definitely helped me choose who I played when I booted up bl2 for the first time

I loved Moze's versatility but I never got used to using Iron Bear. If I activated it, it was just to save my life, but I would immediately get out of it. When they added Iron Pup, I was so happy and since then it's the only one I use. I equip it with Mini Nukes or Corrosive Rail. The amazing thing is that despite how small the Electric Rail or Minigum are, they do immense damage.

I remember playing borderlands 2 with my friend (he was zer0, I was Axton) he was basically a force of nature, I was always getting downed. So we decided to do a duel because we were bored. He downs me with one shot as I throw the turret, And he says " told you that class was useless, I bet I can even tan-" he gets downed and drowned in bullets. - wtf? Let's try again. The next 10 minutes we spend me hiding from him and him hiding from my turret. 😂

I already know what the next soldier is gonna be. Mix of moze and gaige. A robot that can support itself and act as backup or you can combine together to be a exo suit of some kind. Think fallout 4 power armor but titanfall 2 ai. Have a whole background of being a lone survivor.

Honestly replaying Borderlands. This is the first time I played as Roland and Axton. Normally I pick Mordeci and Zer0 as they are fun. Yet Roland and Axton are great. Get to enjoy really every gun the game has, amazing health and shields, and nothing like throwing down your sentry when near death and going into last stand just for your turret to get a kill and revive you.

Oh he can do a lot of fun things. If you set him up right you can basically hold out forever even on solo. Lots of people shit on him for not being broken like Salvador but he's fuckin great

If you go in just trying to make the best turret you can, it's possible to get two magnetized shielded rocket launcher turrets, and it's awesome. Sticking those bad boys to walls and ceilings while you hide behind cover and just watching them level the area always felt good.

Throughout all the games, I've always liked the Soldier classes and were almost always the first characters I played. And when I found a build that lets Moze deploy a mini mech rather than jumping in the big one, that was the one I went with. Because what's better than a single source of damage? A second source of damage that also acts as an extra body to distract most enemies away from you.

Yk I find it funny to note that when it comes to an of soldier build, Zane is actually way closer lol-- Creating a clone that's a turret and a drone that's a turret. There is also the shoulder cannon for instant damage and the drop shield like what the other two soldiers had. He has multiple damage dealing, magazine increasing, critical growth and sheild/health growth in patterns like soldier builds. Zane is if zero was turned into a soldier while moze is if Axton was turned into a mechromancer.

I like how the Hermeneutic circle not being able to exist without violence mirrors how the Circle of Life can't exist without violence, insofar as I understand your explanation. Also while a perpetual Hermeneutic circle doesn't work prescriptively on an individual level, it does sound pretty descriptive of how the audience handles analysis on a societal scale.

Roland had an ability where if you shot your teammates it would heal. Would have a high damage shotgun just to shoot my friends point blank for full health 😂

Axton has a "cool factor" to him despite being like you said, super generic. I've considered playing him multiple times despite knowing it might be the most "normal" playthrough

I can't find Axton normal cause whenever my brother plays him it's blinding since the nuke proc with every turret thrown
