My god, Claptrap was one of the most fun characters in the entire series. There will never be anyone who can match his insanity and randomness in battle. Jack ripping out his programming and him being turned back intoma chump was one of the saddest moments in the series. "See, you don't need to kill a man to defeat him. A little clarity for all, since Claptrap is my favorite. Gun Wizard also refills the ammo of whatever weapon you have out at the time. Clap In The Box is a suicide UNLESS you damage an enemy. A teammate might work too. Medbot, not in the video, gives you a healing laser that heals everything, friend or foe. Only appears in co-op. Senseless Sacrifice, not in the video, revives all downed friendlies...at the cost of downing you. Only appears in co-op. Rubber Duck, not in the video, causes your team to bounce uncontrollably and reflect bullets. It’s just hard to trigger.

My theory: Since Athena is retelling a story, Claptrap probably asked her to make him seem cooler, since all he really could've done was cower behind them and open doors. While Athena may be a cold blooded killer, she still has a heart for the people that helped her. Claptrap has also helped her a lot. It also could be because Claptrap would annoy her a lot afterwards and complain if she didn't.

Xeo He was the Interplanetary ninja assassin claptrap for a bit. he did have a good time there which was post BL1 and pre presequel. Also angel was watching the new BL2 vault hunters for a while from the sound of their hidden echos scattered around Pandora. so he could have made them to test how effective they would be in combat by using a useless claptrap as a guinea pig.

I know he seems useless, but as a claptrap main I can tell you hes absolutely OP with the right setup, his action skill always fills his HP to max, making it a great panic device, the green skill tree makes pretty much every torgue weapon absolutely bonkers and while his skills are absolutely hectic and random, adapting and building into it makes you an absolute menace on the field.

Clap-In-The-Box could use some clarification: Doing ANY damage with it (includes environmental items like barrels) guarantees you won't suicide. Also gun wizard tops off ammo for all equiped weapons.

Playing Fragtrap has kept me a giggle on through some rough patches like corona. Way back i read the dev team had serious doubts and regrets about having made Claptrap a playable VH. Correction: Maya has a kill skill in her Cataclysm tree called Blight Phoenix which causes you to damage nearby foes with fire and corrosive damage. Strength depends on the skills level.
