Almost bought this version. Too many blue dials so I went with the Random Rob white dial. Exited for it to come. The other models with the arrow style hands seemed to small and disappeared against the dials.

Agree. Don't really see the Grand Seiko influence--maybe it's just the textured dial that's making him say that. Seems Omega all the way, and the Railmaster in particular.

@Marvin Berwart fortunately it's a prototype, and there's a good chance the Borealis watch designer is reading the comments posted here (or he's already aware of the issue at this point)

The indices remind me of an omega railroad watch. It’s a beautiful watch just wish it was a see through caseback. Other than that it’s a gorgeous piece.

It is certainly a beautiful watch, very similar to my grail watch, the Omega Railmaster 'denim'. In fact, it is too similar even to be called a homage. In my opinion, it is bordering on Aliexpress-levels of plagiarism. I much prefer it when Borealis does their own thing. I made the mistake once by buying the Explorer-esque Adraga and struggled for months to sell that watch at a reasonable price. This one is a hard pass for me.

Plagiarism of which particular model? The case of the Borealis Sintra is based on the ST 165.024 not in production for over 50 years...

@@carloscarvalho3688 I was referring to the design of the case, the dial and the hands. If one looks at these two watches side by side, the similarities are glaringly obvious. I don’t mind per se… each to their own; but I would rather wait to buy the real thing. As I said, the Railmaster is my grail.

I did not buy this newest model because it looks too much like my Omega Railmaster. I own several Borealis and their other brand Prometheus. They make a nice watch for the money.

I see a poor mans (railmaster) Omega, the dial aswell.. The only Grand seiko i see is the crystal.

For the price range of this watch, and I own a borealis, a display case back is in order, and more interesting hands, they are very generic for a significantly priced watch.
