As a £100 season ticket holder who goes to most games I was disappointed by the chairman’s letter - especially as I attend most games but missed the one that promoted this letter 🙈 A problem the club has is that the season ticket is too cheap and has no perceived value. The main problem though is that they do no marketing to the local community or to fans or season ticket holders. We don’t get text messages, we don’t get emails reminding us about upcoming matches etc. The club can and should do much more.

I’m a Harrogate fans and are attendances have dropped dramatically we may not be a footballing town but but we were getting 1800 people and now we are getting 600-700 I think this is because of the ticket price being 18 quid it’s just too much for non-league and it also doesn’t help that we are not doing amazing but still 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤

The thing with £99 season tickets is because they're only worth £3 a match people won't come because they don't "lose" as much money

Bromley offer a discount to those who hold a season ticket for a league club and that boosts the crowd. I ground hopped them and got in cheaply by showing my Brighton Season ticket. There were several league shirts in the crowd, most notably, local Premier League club, Crystal Palace.

The average attendance in the National League is probably artificially high at the moment with the likes of Notts County, Wrexham, Chesterfield, Hartlepool, plus other ex Football League teams playing in the National League this season. I would think an average attendance figure of around 1400 to 1500 is more realistic. The £20 entry fee doesn't help Boreham Wood and that mounts up when you're taking the kids along, and the kids are the future, like you said.

I remember reading this at the time. It’s tough for non-league. Price is a factor but I’m sure the TV fans enjoy nonstop football on the tele and aren’t as easy to convert into a match going non league fan as you might think.

Boreham Wood are fighting a losing battle with gates that low. I feel sorry for the chairman as he is clearly passionate about the club, and has made massive improvements at great expense. Season tickets are too cheap and general sale tickets too expensive. I think he needs to bring in good marketing staff for a start and a few new faces with fresh ideas to share the load with him. I'm a Bromley fan and am very impressed with how we connect to the local community and promote the club. I can only wish Boreham wood all the very best for the future 🧡⚽

For the same price I could attend two Barnet home matches, with the same quality of football/ better stadium /easier to get to the ground. Or I could pay a little bit more to go to watch Watford / Brentford / QPR instead.

They should do what Havant and Waterlooville do. They charge season tickets holders for Pompey £6 to get in so if Pompey are away and Havant are at home can still go watch football on the cheap. And they let children under a certain age in for free (I want to say under 12s but not 100%). With Watford down the road and probably quite a few season ticket holders other London clubs near by they could draw in a few more that way.

Local PR, Community work, Get involve with Charities/schools/Underprivileged/BAME etc, KZbin/Twitter/FB like somebody below mentioned I know it's easy for me to type this on my sofa as I'm not bankrolling a football club, but the options are there? My local non-league team Bath have a couple of Pay-what-you-want Fan Days (with entertainment/Kids stuff etc.) and this seems to work in regards to keeping new fans interested (Worked for me) I think the chairman should keep going and push on, although it must be a stressful job

Very interesting video. I fear that the issues at Boreham Wood is symptomatic of problems with football in England generally. I live in Spain, and follow my local team UD Almería. I pay 110 €uros for my annual season ticket. UD Almería play in La Liga 2….the SECOND TIER of Spanish football. Matchday tickets are from 10 to 20 €uros. I am from Ipswich. My son has season for The Town and pays £400 to watch THIRD TIER football. A match day ticket starts at £27! The local non league club in the area are Needham Market FC who play in the SEVENTH TIER of English football…..their season ticket £190…...and £11 matchday admission. When the admission prices of clubs in England playing in the SEVENTH TIER are more expensive than a team in Spain playing in the SECOND TIER, says all you need to know about football admission prices in England!

I am from north London and went to the arsenal women's team games at borehamwood's stadium and it was a shit stadium, but for £10 a ticket for a team on their way to winning the wsl it was worth the price. Went to a borehamwood game and it was a ridiculous £20 for a game where the team was absolutely dreadful and could've easily lost 9 or 10-0, it ended up as a 4-0 as I remember. Dumb expensive and shit football being played didn't make me want to go and see them play again, particularly as the stadium had very few amenities or atmosphere. Went to the opening wsl game for arsenal this weekend and the stadium has been improved massively over the summer. The new stand is great and the food no longer tastes like sawdust, but the price for the standard of football is still not value for money for the national league, so I go and watch the much better football being played by wealdstone in the national league south and save myself £7 a ticket. It's a no brainer really, they need to reduce their prices to have any hope of increasing their attendances

Also when it's only a fiver a ticket more expensive to buy a ticket for Brentford in the championship, whose stadium facilities and style of football are far better than borehamwood's no floating fan is going to make borehamwood their team of choice.

I know it's easy to be cynical over Salford (I certainly hate how much Sky overpromotes them) but just speaking personally if I was someone that lived in/near Salford and I was disinterested/disenfranchised with Top tier football I'd certainly be interested in supporting and following a new and exciting project like theirs. Every club with a long history had to have new upstarts at some point, right?

I went there as a natural in the game against Salford last season. It's one of the worst grounds i have ever been to. No atmosphere, they didn't sell alcohol to the away fans the they sold out of programmes 😡.
