Bob is crazy, but I love him as does the rest of the country. He is a national treasure. He appears about in this show about 2 or 3 times each season. He doesn’t always tell the truth, but usually the more outrageous his story the more likely it is to be true. He published his autobiography last year and most of his true stories were in it. He has had a very strange life which at times has been quite sad.

The team of three do all have a vote. The captain - in the middle decides whether to say True or Lie. You will never understand Bob Mortimer. He was a lawyer in the past among lots of other things before becoming a comedian.

I’ve grown up with Bob On tv in his many guises he is unique and now he appears in a fishing programme with a friend a fellow comedian and I would never have expected to enjoy watching them fish but it is a hit show and compelling viewing.

I was at the local cafe, I don't use sugar but told the woman serving me, a guy I grew up with used 5 teaspoons of sugar in his coffee, she told me there is a female truck driver that's stops there and has 23 teaspoons of sugar in her coffee 😳 could you imagine that

WILTY is has tonnes of iconic moments the relationship and stark contrast between team captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack as well as the host Rob Brydon really make the show. Any clips featuring Bob Mortimer, Greg Davis, James Acaster, or Rhod Gilbert are absolute gold.

Yes, this is an edited clip. This whole episode is great if you want to make a longer reveiew. This show has been running for a long time with a huge audience, so the contestants can be quite clever about how to throw people off the scent. One aspect that you may discover more and more is how the banter between the Rob, David and Lee is one of the winning factors to keep this show going so long. I don't know how well you know british society at this point, but this show can reveal a lot. In my opinion WILTY is one of the best panel shows ever created.

Bob is national treasure, hes been going years. Shooting Stars is a wonderful quiz he did with Vick and hes had hart problems and hes done a wonderful fishing program. YEARS ago at a huge music award thing and Michal Jackson did a song and was coming across as a arse so Jarvis Cocker the lead singer of Pulp mooned Jackson while he was singing. BOB went to the police station to help Jarvis,Bob is/was a lawyer, both guys were very famous at the time it must have been crazy in that station that night. Also people loved what Jarvis did because Jackson vas trying to look extreamly religuse and we dont like that in the UK.

Ostensibly the other team members do get a say but they can be overruled by the team captain (in this case David M). Sometimes though the captain just states what way the team is going without actually asking any of the team members. ... or maybe (in this case) the true/false disscusion was edited out.

They all vote David is the captain on one team ,he has the casting vote. The other captain ,on the other team is lee Mack ,in the middle he has the casting vote for is team . The rest of the panelists change weekly .you are going to love this show 😃

Generally the captain consults his team before he announces the final team decision, so he can go with the majority vote or overrule it. Here, though, for comedy effect, David Mitchell shows his exasperation at always being outfoxed by Bob Mortimer's ridiculous stories by shutting down his team-mates and voting 'True'. For laughs, based on bitter experience, he has decided that, when it comes to Bob, implausibility should no longer factor in his decision.

The panel have never seen what is written on the card until the moment they're given it, so they have to make up a story live on air, or if its a true thing they have to try to make it less believable. Bob can spin a tale better than anyone. He is the absolute King of WILTY, but there's a great many others who tell great stories that will have you laughing along. Most of the guests are comedians or comedic actors but sometimes they will have a different type of guest and their stories are hilarious. Once you've done all of Bob's try CHRIS MCCAUSLAND and does he have a rude neighbour? (it's not just the guests who tell stories, Lee, David and Rob also have good ones. It's also the speed that these peoples brains come up with jokes on the spot, and how they embroider the truth or the lie. Greg Davis is another great guest. Talking of Greg, as teachers I'm guessing you'd really enjoy the brit comedy Inbetweeners which he acts in. It's about a group of teens as they pass through the final years of school and their escapades as they move towards growing up (hence in between childhood and adulthood)

Team captains Lee Mack and David Mitchell get the final say, but they do consult the others and often just go with their team. That's one of only two I've seen where they didn't seem to consult, although that may have been the edit in this case. The other one was when Lee told such an obviously ludicrous story that when Rob turned to David he just immediately said "Lie".

David Mitchel and Lee Mack are the permanent tem members and captains of their respective teams. They do have the final call, but they usually do consult with the other team members. But David does seem to have a thing with Bob Mortimer in this show. IEverything Bob says, truth or lie, is just so wild, but detailed; both logical and unplausible at the same time.

Youve gotta remember people used to become very inventive in tough times. During the 2nd world war when fuel was very hard to get my dads uncle built a car that run off charcoal which was easy to come by in the Aussie bush. It wasn't fast or flash but it got them where they had to go. My mum and her mum survived by hunting and trapping birds to eat . Bob is definitely one of those old school larger than life characters

On your poit about crowns falling out regularly - you are used to US dentists - this is UK NHS dentists we are talking about. They are under oressure to do the dental work very fast, which means that the prep work time is slashed t to about half of what a private dentist would allow, and this results in an inferior product. So many dentists are so disillusioned with the NHS for this reason that it s very difficult to find an NHS dentist these days.
