Well you should probably complement him on his gut reaction to which consulting advice he should listen to. Because it is for a fact not his idea, he just know intuitively that it could work. And if not, he doesn't mind. His approach is trial and error down the deep end. Nothing is too embarrassing or opportunistic looking, as long as it fulfills his main goal. To be on top with the minimal amount of effort, having everyone double guessing you because you have figured out how to trigger biases and preconceptions that work nearly mechanically.

A lot of people in the UK that have respect for Andrew Neil were quite disappointed, because instead of investigating why Shapiro was popular (the rise in social conservatism that is combating the extremism of the social justice movement), he spent the entire time quoting click-bait articles from 7 years ago. As such the interview had absolutely zero information on the topics it was meant to cover, left Andrew Neil looking incompetent from a journalistic perspective, and Shapiro looking mysterious from a foreign perspective.

@ As a British person, sure. We agreed a deal under Johnson in September last year, which on closer inspection was a slightly edited version of the unpopular one Theresa May previously agreed with Europe. But because it had his seal of approval, and even though he personally previously voted against May's deal twice in Parliament, it was used to win an election last December and was passed in January, so Britain left then. But the deal included a transition rather than an immediate exit and a mandate to spend 2020 negotiating the actual future relationship or else the full no deal experience with all the shit that is promised happening by default on Jan 1st 2021, and the UK has spent the whole time being stubborn on a few particular issues to the point where talks have essentially gone nowhere since July. This was conveniently after Johnson and his government rejected the chance to extend talks and the exit transition by two years. So we're now 5 weeks from no deal after negotiations that have gone nowhere for months, and there's also no guarantee any deal will even pass Parliament given our terrible handling of coronavirus means his party are now openly fighting each other. This is to say nothing of the UK government introducing a law seemingly designed to just annoy the EU and undermine the deal we already had, and they're insisting on keeping it even after incoming President Biden publicly said this law shouldn't be a thing I could add a lot more besides but tl;dr, we basically signed a deal that deferred most of the problems by a year but its all still in a mess, just without the safety net and after coronavirus has all the problems worse. Its not good

@@chlcrk On top of all of THAT, the EU refused to budge on fishing legislation, so we played a risky game of chicken that somehow paid off a few weeks ago and Brussels basically said "Okay, you win, we'll give in on this and a couple of other issues". So what did we do? Ignored them, and continued to not engage with negotiations. Part of me believe that our government has been purposefully bodging the negotiations with the intention of ending up with a No Deal Brexit. The EU would be publicly blamed for not giving us a fair deal by Johnson, and a radical solution will be sought to bolster our economy. Cue the outright privatisation of the NHS. In an extra bonus move, throw in tax breaks for massive corporations so that they can move in to fill the gaps left by our decimated small businesses post-covid, and we are well on our way to becoming the United States B-Team.

A pretty tasteless thing for Johnson to do, and the ambassador was desperately trying to get him to shut up.. He likes to pretend he has a classics education, but I don't suppose his reading of the Kipling poem got beyond the the first few jingoistic verses in the song. The full poem is really quite different in tone. It ends with a paean of praise for Burma and a dislike of London and English women "Beefy face an' grubby 'and -- Law! wot do they understand? - I've a neater, sweeter maiden in a cleaner, greener land!" When the mist was on the rice-fields an' the sun was droppin' slow, She'd git 'er little banjo an' she'd sing "~Kulla-lo-lo!~" With 'er arm upon my shoulder an' 'er cheek agin' my cheek We useter watch the steamers an' the ~hathis~ pilin' teak. Elephints a-pilin' teak In the sludgy, squdgy creek, Where the silence 'ung that 'eavy you was 'arf afraid to speak! On the road to Mandalay . . . But that's all shove be'ind me -- long ago an' fur away, An' there ain't no 'busses runnin' from the Bank to Mandalay; An' I'm learnin' 'ere in London what the ten-year soldier tells: "If you've 'eard the East a-callin', you won't never 'eed naught else." No! you won't 'eed nothin' else But them spicy garlic smells, An' the sunshine an' the palm-trees an' the tinkly temple-bells; On the road to Mandalay . . . I am sick o' wastin' leather on these gritty pavin'-stones, An' the blasted Henglish drizzle wakes the fever in my bones; Tho' I walks with fifty 'ousemaids outer Chelsea to the Strand, An' they talks a lot o' lovin', but wot do they understand? Beefy face an' grubby 'and -- Law! wot do they understand? I've a neater, sweeter maiden in a cleaner, greener land! On the road to Mandalay . . . Ship me somewheres east of Suez, where the best is like the worst, Where there aren't no Ten Commandments an' a man can raise a thirst; For the temple-bells are callin', an' it's there that I would be -- By the old Moulmein Pagoda, looking lazy at the sea; On the road to Mandalay, Where the old Flotilla lay, With our sick beneath the awnings when we went to Mandalay! On the road to Mandalay, Where the flyin'-fishes play, An' the dawn comes up like thunder outer China 'crost the Bay! Rudyard Kipling

No, hopefully this WON'T pass here in the U.S. Best economy in literally 100+ years. You people in the EU need to stop listening to LITERALLY EVERY FUCKING THING OUR CROOKED, LYING, TRASH MAINSTREAM MEDIA SAYS IN THE UNITED STATES. Every single network is currently full of lies and spite (even the conservative networks). To give you an idea of the absolute madness occurring right now, our PRESIDENT referred to a United States city that is currently experiencing 3rd-world living conditions (Baltimore, Maryland) as being "rat-infested"-which datum was obtained from the pest control company Orkin as the 9th most rodent-infested city in our country-then our lying shitstain mainstream media quite literally called him "racist" for making that statement. DO NOT BELIEVE THE BULLSHIT AND LIES THAT THE UNITED STATES MAINSTREAM MEDIA REPORTS. Do some independent research and you'll see real truth. People, like Johnny O, are literally paid to spew hate and propaganda against Donald J. Trump. Yes, Trump has very little tact at times, but quite literally 85%+ of what you hear in our "mainstream" news is skewed and fabricated against him and other conservatives. Good day.

England and Tea are inseparable. Boris literally came out with like 6 cups because he knows they'll love it.
@Pro_Butcher_Amateur_Human3 жыл бұрын
True. I'm watching this with my morning tea. I've got my cup, teapot, sugar dish, sugar tongs, milk jug, and a few biscuits, all carefully laid out in front of me. I've got enough tea for 3 cups, and it's just me. If I was one of those journalists, I'd be asking where the trays were for the other journalists.
@Pro_Butcher_Amateur_Human3 жыл бұрын
^I'm English by the way, if it wasn't obvious. Love of tea is stereotypically an English thing, not a British thing. The Scots, Irish and Welsh aren't as into it. The Scots generally go for coffee, Iron Bru, or just start the day flying with a can of lager. Geography lesson! See this mistake all the time. Okay, so you've got the 3 individual countries on the main landmass- English, Scotland, and Wales. Together they make up the union of Great Britain. Which is then part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Ireland is a seperate island, so is not part of Britain. It's split in two due to The Troubles in the 80's, which split Ireland into Northern Ireland (still part of the UK) and the Republic of Ireland, which is still part of the European Union after the UK's exit vote.
@flux2023 жыл бұрын
@@Pro_Butcher_Amateur_Human what makes my comment worse is that I'm very well versed on UK history and geography, I just had no idea that only English people were the tea lovers.
