@@jeffjeffries8924 this is cold. She was, for the most part, endlessly supportive of him, encouraging him. She loved him. In return he beat her, cheated on her both physically and emotionally, and had her killed once she complicated things. He hated her. He called her the worst names after her death. Their entire relationship meant nothing to him, ever. He then leveraged him giving her up to Tony against Tony multiple times like that was the sum of her existence to him. And he's getting your sympathy? Men are super cold towards women just because they're not men. It's deep as fuck.

Adriana's death truly was the end of Chris's arc. He starts the series by killing an innocent, the Polack garbage kid, to cement his loyalty to Tony and the crew. He ends his arc by sacrificing Adriana, the only person in his life who loves him unconditionally and genuinely cares about him, to Tony, the man that will kill him in cold-blood. This moment was when Chris sealed his fate.

Of course it is wrong, it is murder, but I completely understand it from the POV of the leadership. She could bring down everything, which would not just affect the guys, but also their families who benefit from crime money. It's the little details that really show in this series. The way Silvio casually palms the wheel as he parks up in the forest, as if he's done this a thousand times and driving a woman out into the middle of nowhere to shoot her is the same to him as parking up to get groceries. It really shows that despite his likeability in many scenes, he's a remorseless murderer at heart.

Many are misreading this. Adriana realized she was being driven towards her death the minute he pulled out of the exit. The show even went as far as showing the going off the exit ramp and her facial expression changing to fear and desperation the exact time this happens. People are saying that she didn't realize it until the car stopped because she didn't react physically or try to run until he stopped and opened the door. But that's not true. That's not how the brain works when you are in a state of shock. She was already an emotional wreck and when she got the call from Tony about the suicide attempt, she was even more distraught, worried, scared, and guilt ridden. She may have led her lover suicide. Now Silvio (the enemy) is picking her up to take her to see the very person she drove to attempted suicide. She doesn't know WHAT to do or whom to go to. As Silvio is turning off the ramp, she realizes that he's not going to the hospital but in a different direction and her face changes. She suspects now that he is taking her out to get killed. But she hangs on for a slim hope. The brain in a state of shock and desperation will do these irrational fear like bargaining, delaying, etc. "Maybe there's a chance, maybe something else. I don't want to believe it!" It takes TIME to slowly come to grips with new detrimental life altering shocking info. Especially if this info is that you will be killied in a few minutes. Especially if you are already in a state of mental anguish. It takes time to process this - so she is emotionally devastated and virtually paralyzed. Besides, what will she do? Wrestle him in the car right now? So while it is taking time to process this, time is something she unfortunately does not have! When he stops the car and gets out making a motion towards the door, her mind snaps back to the present here and now and she enters the "fight or flight" mode by kicking, trying to run, pleading - all futile and irrational attempts at this point. Going as far as crawling away on all fours (what purpose does that serve?) only to be shot in the head. So YES, she knew she was going to die. And it took time for her to process this. Even though she only physically reacted once the car stopped. She may have been stupid in other ways. But she wasn't that stupid as other say to not realize this until Silvio stopped the car. This was all a natural human response which many of us would have had.

The coldest part about Adriana's murder for me at least, is that Sil, Tony, and Chris, all relied on Adriana actually caring enough for Chris in order for them to kill her. If she didn't care about Chris, she would've ran like we see her fantasizing during the car ride with Sil, but she DID care, and that was her mistake, caring about someone that didn't care about her even half as much as she cared about them.

It’s usually easier to respect Silvio compared to most in the family due to his distinguished loyalty and counsel to Tony, as well as his general level headedness compared to most of the other characters. But then they show you a scene like this, his ruthless satisfied demeanor with what he’s about to do in spite of who it is that he’s doing it to, and you’re reminded that he is just as much of a remorseless monster as the rest of them.

Such a heartbreaking scene. The sheer terror as she realises what's happening as Sil gets out the car, her desperate attempts to lock the door and, finally, her crawling on the forrest ground like a terrified animal trying to escape from a predator. It was all very primal and animalistic - just like the killing itself. I actually thought this was the single most disturbing scene from the entire series, along with the killing/stabbing of fat Dom (which also involved Sil). Sil makes for a great and very scary psycho, imo, and I suppose because Van Zandt is such a nice, friendly, laid-back and likeable guy in real life, it kinda is sometimes hard to take his Sporanos character seriously at times. Great series! Brings back a lot of memories!

@@Arcaryon Maybe. Silvio wasn't a maniac. But there was one thing that all mobsters, but especially Silvio, couldn't stand. And that's a rat. Silvio wasn't shown killing many people in the show. He really didn't have to. Aside from the killing of Fat Dom and Burt Gervasi (and Burt was garroted for his disloyalty), I'm pretty sure everyone Silvio was shown killing was an informant. He seemed to want a part of that. And Adrianna, whatever else she was that might have earned her some sympathy, was an informant. I'm sure Silvio would have fed her face first into a wood chipper if he could have. In the words of one of his contemporaries, "...being a rat where I come from, is like asking someone like you [a Jewish lawyer] to be a fucking Nazi." The second Tony told Silvio what she was being whacked for, I'm sure Silvio's heart went dead cold.

If I remember correctly, the scene in Tony's basement was showed as a flashback later on. What they actually put in was Chris at a petrol station after he had agreed to go away with Adriana; he saw a couple (actually a beat-up version of himself and Ade, not the subtlest moment in the series) with children, having a miserable time, the implication being he then realised what lay ahead for him. The next thing in the storyline was Tony's call, which made perfect sense. And, finally, the terrible outcome: Chris chooses to forgo a despondent existence even if that means a death warrant for the woman he loves.

Ade is possibly the most tragic character in the series for me. there is something so innocent and naive about her. she has her faults too, she's a product of her environment. but i really believed she loved Chris with all of her hearth. And the fact that at the end she really didn't have anyone to truly talk about her life so she started to talk her private things with the FBI agents just to talk. she really needed a real friend. she always seemed so positive and naive about everyone i think she didn't hink bad about anyone. for her everyone can get better. and Christopher snatched on her the second she revealed everything. maybe it was the logical choice, but it's obviously not the choice of a man who loves someone.

Chris doomed Adriana by placing her in a club rife with illegal mob activity, knowing that Adriana lacked the wits and courage to defend herself in a legal situation.
