The genius of having her trying to flee on all fours. La Cerva means 'the Doe', 'Silvio' roughly translates to 'woodsman.' The woodsman shoots the doe. Perfection.

It's the little details that really show in this series. The way Silvio casually palms the wheel as he parks up in the forest, as if he's done this a thousand times and driving a woman out into the middle of nowhere to shoot her is the same to him as parking up to get groceries. It really shows that despite his likeability in many scenes, he's a remorseless murderer at heart.

Many are misreading this. Adriana realized she was being driven towards her death the minute he pulled out of the exit. The show even went as far as showing the going off the exit ramp and her facial expression changing to fear and desperation the exact time this happens. People are saying that she didn't realize it until the car stopped because she didn't react physically or try to run until he stopped and opened the door. But that's not true. That's not how the brain works when you are in a state of shock. She was already an emotional wreck and when she got the call from Tony about the suicide attempt, she was even more distraught, worried, scared, and guilt ridden. She may have led her lover suicide. Now Silvio (the enemy) is picking her up to take her to see the very person she drove to attempted suicide. She doesn't know WHAT to do or whom to go to. As Silvio is turning off the ramp, she realizes that he's not going to the hospital but in a different direction and her face changes. She suspects now that he is taking her out to get killed. But she hangs on for a slim hope. The brain in a state of shock and desperation will do these irrational fear like bargaining, delaying, etc. "Maybe there's a chance, maybe something else. I don't want to believe it!" It takes TIME to slowly come to grips with new detrimental life altering shocking info. Especially if this info is that you will be killied in a few minutes. Especially if you are already in a state of mental anguish. It takes time to process this - so she is emotionally devastated and virtually paralyzed. Besides, what will she do? Wrestle him in the car right now? So while it is taking time to process this, time is something she unfortunately does not have! When he stops the car and gets out making a motion towards the door, her mind snaps back to the present here and now and she enters the "fight or flight" mode by kicking, trying to run, pleading - all futile and irrational attempts at this point. Going as far as crawling away on all fours (what purpose does that serve?) only to be shot in the head. So YES, she knew she was going to die. And it took time for her to process this. Even though she only physically reacted once the car stopped. She may have been stupid in other ways. But she wasn't that stupid as other say to not realize this until Silvio stopped the car. This was all a natural human response which many of us would have had.

This is heartbreaking to anyone that's not a sociopath/psychopath but it's also important to recognize that in this type of criminal underworld rating/assisting the police is on par with smashing a puppy, killing a baby, or some sort of very extreme heinous act that literally everyone would be disgusted/repulsed by.. To them this is a dagger to the chest and an irreconcilable betrayal.

I thought she was such an annoying character, but yea, I felt some type of way though when she was executed for really just not knowing any better and being pretty dumb to begin with, getting tricked by the feds, etc. Couldn't go down any other way though, for the shows sake.
@EternalRoman
@EternalRoman 10 ай бұрын
@@Jbeasty1990 Thing is that the show is not making the Mob as heroes or something to be admired. It's showing how horrible the Mob really is and how everyone is just a number in their red books. Children, elderly, women, men, all are numbers to either be used, or discarded. This is something Martin Scorsese even mentioned in a round table with Robert Deniro, Joe Pecsi and Al Pacino. He said along the lines when people would praise his films loving the characters and their life style that in essence, the sole purpose was to show that as charismatic the people in the Mob were, they ultimately were sociopathic and psychopathic monsters. The loyalty and "honor" they have for "The Family" is also fake, killing each other off because most of these guys had an Elementary level of education, and they became "Business men" while being lackeys, killers, or plain money making extortionists. That was the way people climbed up the Mob ladder, and of course one little stupid thing would happen and down they came falling, cause death was always on the menu for them. No matter if it was something stupidly small, or something really big, death always followed them and those close to them in business and in their own personal private lives. The show did this as gritty and as realistically as possible. Adriana was just one of many, that is why Sil was so nonchalant about the execution, he even relished the acting he put up and then seeing her crawl away. It was impactful, because that was they way it would be in real life.

@@beowulf_of_wall_st I dont agree.... In this instance, there really was no other alternative. Adriana had to die, to protect the entire institution they are a part of, which pays for hundreds of peoples families... Of course it is wrong, it is murder, but I completely understand it from the POV of the leadership. She could bring down everything, which would not just affect the guys, but also their families who benefit from crime money. She was a threat to their very existance, and therefore had to be neutralised. I am just glad I am not a part of something so horrible and have to make such horrible decisions.

This was the real breaking point for Tony and Christopher’s relationship. Tony thought what he did as the greatest favor of all time while Christopher thought his admittance was the ultimate display of loyalty. Neither of them thinks the other made a sacrifice.

What I love most about this scene is that shot of Sil's car taking a detour. That's when you know it's really happening. And then the look on Adrianna's face when she looks out and realizes where they're heading. My heart never broke for Tony or any other character in this show the way it did for Adrianna.

The acting here is so amazing, so intense. They couldn't have done it better. The way Christopher practically speaks in code because he's so scared and ashamed. The way Tony goes from chill to anxious to enraged was done absolutely perfectly. Even the look on Tony's face when he's hugging him you can tell he's got 10000 things going through his head at that moment. Hands down the best scene of the entire series.

It’s a great scene, no doubt. However, for me, it would be that final boat scene with Big Pussy, particularly the part where Puss is still trying to talk his way out of it by claiming that he was “mind-_ ucking those donkeys” by giving them “picayune shit”, and Tony wasn’t buying it for one millisecond.

The Fear in her eyes from the moment she started crying it’s like she knew she was going to die ! @@Arcaryon Maybe. Silvio wasn't a maniac. But there was one thing that all mobsters, but especially Silvio, couldn't stand. And that's a rat. Silvio wasn't shown killing many people in the show. He really didn't have to. Aside from the killing of Fat Dom and Burt Gervasi (and Burt was garroted for his disloyalty), I'm pretty sure everyone Silvio was shown killing was an informant. He seemed to want a part of that. And Adrianna, whatever else she was that might have earned her some sympathy, was an informant. I'm sure Silvio would have fed her face first into a wood chipper if he could have. In the words of one of his contemporaries, "...being a rat where I come from, is like asking someone like you [a Jewish lawyer] to be a fucking Nazi." The second Tony told Silvio what she was being whacked for, I'm sure Silvio's heart went dead cold.

James Gandolfini doesn’t even get enough credit for how much of a good actor he is. This scene in particular is just brilliant. The way he is trying to console him at first but the minute he hears “feds” he coldly pulls his hand away from him and moves backwards as he questions if Christopher is a rat. Once he has confirmation that it’s just her that’s ratting he goes back to consoling him. Damn brilliant scene

Once she saw the secluded wood area, she definitely began to fear that they knew and were setting her up. You can see she goes from very quiet and melancholy to crying hysterically and her face and body started shaking. It was very sad to see her get killed considering she was a pretty nice woman who happened to get caught up in crime all around her even though she wasn't a criminal. RIP Adriana.
