@@Ging3rs if a mom really can’t stay sober for the sake of her child’s entire life, they’re better off getting an abortion early on
@rockyrox4591 Жыл бұрын
@@onmyceiling There is a stigma that Mothers are simply choosing the drugs over their child. Before, there were many women who are under substance abuse and do not know or find out they are pregnant until after the state regulated cut off for abortions. They had no choice but to go to full term and Doctors believe it is much more dangerous for the babies if the mother were to stop the drugs while pregnant and the developing fetus to endure the withdrawal in the womb, which could kill them. The Doctors have decided that is the safest route and care for the withdrawal and weening in the NICU after delivery. And now that our autonomy has been stripped and the right to abortion has been taken from women all over the United States, unfortunately, that isn’t a choice any longer for the women who DID know they were pregnant early on and could have an abortion for the sake of the child or situation. There will be much much more children born of addiction now that this isn’t an option.

Wileen Byroads great question! Why? Doesn’t make any sense to me at all. There’s really no excuse, quite frankly, HOW or WHY they become addicts. The fact of the matter is that they ARE drug addicts. I see many new babies and pregnant moms in the clinic everyday and none of them had the child removed or anything as long as they're doing what they should be and their UA's are clean of other drugs. I was born addicted to drugs. Thankfully I haven’t had too many long term effects, but it still has some. My bones are brittle, and my reproductive organs failed to develop properly, so I won’t be able to have children of my own. My teeth have close to no enamel, and a lot of my permanent teeth never developed or developed poorly and had to be removed. I’ve been diagnosed with autism, but I’m not sure if that’s related at all. I’ve also been diagnosed with psychotic depression and anxiety, but I think that was environmental. Though I still love my biological mother, I’ll never forgive her for bringing me into a world of pain and hurt. And I’ll never forgive CPS for not taking me away that day. I’ll never fully recover from the side effects of prenatal drugs, but I’m proud to say I’ll be breaking the cycle as I live my life.

I also have permanent legal custody of a now 3 1/2 year old boy, born addicted to multiple drugs and alcohol. I got him when he was 9 months old. Make sure you tell his new doctors that you believe he was born addicted. They can get records from the hospital with the results of the tests done at birth. It is VITAL the doctors know exactly what he was born addicted to....and you will find, over the coming months and years just how much damage the drugs have caused. Behavior issues, growth issues, eating issues, mental issues, trust issues, numerous disorders, and they will NOT all be known early on......we still don't know the full extent of what his birth mother did to him. And we may never know.... Just love him, give him comfort, and let him FEEL that he is safe......and no matter what happens, keep on loving him.

Sounds like colic and/or premature delivery issues. Especially the tremors. This is such a charging topic that never addresses to real issue, which instead we point fingers at the true victims. Nobody asks why. Why do humans use drugs? Why would a mother use drugs while knowing what could happen or not wanting to know what could happen? Why do humans lie about drug usage? On all levels …? What happens to a human that makes the prospect of sobriety untenable? In every case I’ve known of it’s always some unresolved grief over something that happened to them, which they are often unaware of it effecting them so deeply and.or once that thing is figured out, it releases the prospect that there was something before that which lead to the secondary grief that went unresolved due to SHAME which in contemporary white American is something that acts like kryotonite to the overwhelming increase in Pathological Narcissists. If you are addicted to drugs, chances are one or both of your parents has a personality disorder that was spurned by their generational paradigms which depending on the severity and when it occurred can even cause a yet to be labeled instance of split personality where the sole purpose of having children is to create two versions of the parent - the good one that was innocent and lived before the traumatic event(s) and the bad one that represents the awfulness that they blame themselves for having let themselves shame their birth family. The later is my mil 100% as if they used her for the text books on clinical psychology.
