An old co-worker and friend who i knew from doing consumer electronic repairs along with in the A/V industry from way back in 1989 has been dealing with Next Level HiFi... he went from all Mcintosh gear to Aavik equipment (that is digital amplification) to drive his Blade One Meta's, last i heard from him he was very impressed with how the Aavik handled those speakers... myself like many are hesitant on upgrading from class A or A/B to digital, but Aavik must be doing it pretty good... love the videos Jay, keep it up 👍👍

This was my favorite system of the show this year at CAF. I was shocked also when I was told the price of the speakers. If I was starting over this would be it and I would be out a lot less money than I am now.

Awesome video jay. Im always impressed with the sound they put out at Axpona. It would be an end game system if i had the $$. Lars does a great job running the room. Always enjoy the music they play. The music is a nice change from traditional high-fi rooms.

Not knowing how familiar you are with this music, I wonder if you were able to get a good evaluation. I’m sure the large room size helped also. I’m also wondering about the dealer network, where can someone go demo these?

In order to get same results you’ll need to set them up exactly like in the video (far into the room, close to side walls, significant toe-in).

This is really weird.. why not do a sound demo and then talk about the demo? Trying to mash it together is just odd. Especially with the weird music where the singer is almost yelling.

they play god-awful music during these shows
@rangerscoach10 ай бұрын
They play technical demonstrations. Because of this I have found tracks that test the upper limits of my system so they do have utility. I think to get an objective opinion of something it helps to not play something that your subjectively so passionate about. Im pretty anti nils lofgren but if the stereo can knock his music out of the park, my cd collection is going to be in pretty good shape 😂

Being in the audiophile game is a matter of how easily or difficult your money comes to you. I said that to say, I have been to many listening parties and have heard some great systems, but I have never heard anything that would make me part with 50k for a system. My system is put together for my exacting personal taste and I probably spent about 10k, all in. I guess my money doesn't come to me so easily...lol.
@rangerscoach10 ай бұрын
would love to know if you have a fixed budget like 50k are we better off looking for an integrated solution like this or playing the system matching game by ourselves (to our own individual preferences) or with a very good hifi shop that still runs demos the old skool way. (the new breed of online hifi shop seem to just sell like the algorithm on netflix)

Borrensen is not for me. I don't like the way their speakers present music
@phetmoz7 ай бұрын
That's fair enough. It's not exactly realistic in the traditional sense, it has a larger-than-life realism that's in the opposite direction of how horn speakers have larger than life realism. That's how I would put it at least.

@@phetmoz As everything, it's just a matter of taste, right. Let's wait and see what happens
@phetmoz7 ай бұрын
@@francisraimundo For sure, but this isn't like comparing soft domes and hard domes, rather it's an entirely different presentation. These Borresen tweeters are so incredibly fast they seem faster than life should permit. It's an unnaturally fast replay that is thoroughly impressive and enjoyable for, I would say most people.
