"This is actually pretty nice," he admits. Sasuke pats Boruto on the shoulder. "I told you so." The two boys sit in silence for a while, enjoying the tranquility of the moment. Boruto breaks the silence first. "Sasuke," he says, "thanks for being my friend." Sasuke looks at Boruto, surprised. "What for?" "For always being there for me, even when I don't deserve it," Boruto says. "And for always being honest with me, even when it's hard." Sasuke smiles. "You're welcome, Boruto." The two boys continue to sit in silence, their friendship a comforting presence in the midst of a turbulent world.

My theory is that the Otsusuki started out as some form of a 10 tails. One of them happened to eat something along the lines of a divine fruit, which gave them consciousness & evolved their power. I always thought it strange that the Otsusuki & 10 Tails shared Dojutsu as a power. Makes it seem as if they're genetically linked. I feel Code's tinkering gave them an early consciousness once they had acquired human DNA. Their goal will be to create a Divine Tree & reenact what created the Otsusuki to begin with, therefore making them something like an evolved version of an Otsusuki. Sounds a bit ridiculous, but considering how little we know about the Otsusuki, it'd be a good way to introduce their origin while creating a threat that's even above the power of someone with Otsusuki DNA & Power such as Boruto.

I think everyone is looking at this incorrectly and that the ten tails itself split into four different entities and those were the shinju. I say this because 1) the chakra rods are still pinned to the ground. If it was abducted then someone must have had to use space time ninjutsu which I don't think could have happened that quickly 2) The claw grimes that bite the people themselves turn into a tree. I think the claw grimes work as an extension and ten tails is the hive mind. When the bite someone, the ten tails is able to access their chakra and personality and hence ten tails split into four people and became shinju.

Ohtsutsukification affects DNA and enables new abilities that use chakra, but I'm not sure if it alters chakra. I'd venture to guess all the chakra sharing was between 10T and Jigen, Isshiki being mostly down for the count inside the ear. I'd LOVE to learn more about human techniques monks like Jigen practiced before Kaguya's arrival and the discipline of ninshu. That's the kind of thing I wish the anime did when not adapting the manga rather than the majority of filler that takes itself too seriously.

I think it's also possible that the jigen shinju or main shinju is the main ten tails body it evolved and became the shinju we saw floating above the area it was pinned at. Also we all noticed that shinju displayed something similar to the rinnegan on its chest. Now you can say the others could have it on there chest we just didn't see it. But you also have to say showing that marking on the one shinju depicted to be the "main" can't be just a coincidence.

Y'know, I'm starting to suspect that the Otsutsuki Clan _originated_ from a group of ancient Shinju that figured out how to evolve _without_ turning into a God Tree. Consider, these Shinju have _a lot_ in common with pure-blood Otsutsuki already: They can freely absorb Chakra from other beings, including each other; they have the same creepy white complexion; they all are born with _at least_ one powerful Doujutsu; and they all evolve in some way when they consume enough Chakra. In fact, if my suspicion is correct, that means we have an entire evolutionary chain: White Zetsu --> Claw Grime --> Shinju --> Otsutsuki

Shinju sees Ten Tails as one parent, but we know who exactly is another figure for the Shinju within the Uzumaki family. One that was already Otsutsuki at first hand. One that holds Hagoromo’s, Hamura’s and even Toneri Otsutsuki’s chakra. How exactly did Boruto communicate with Toneri after defeating Momoshiki? The same way how Naruto and Sasuke got their Yin and Yang chakra. The same exact way that Hinata got Hamura chakra. (Or is that little too on the nose?)

Wondering if the Shinju formed because of Sasuke being trapped in the divine tree since his reincarnation of Indra’s chakra. Curious what would happen if they got Naruto as well with his Ashura chakra. I have a feeling the fact that the Shinju inherit the personality of the it's host is actually going to backfire. Who's to say they won't also inherit parts of the host's memories? Because unlike Pain's six paths, the host bodies are alive. Making me think at some point they might be able to fight back. It would also connect back to Boruto, who is fighting Momoshiki's will. It would be wild if Sasuke Shinju clone actually comes back under his control, it wouldn't be the first time he's fought another consciousness in his body (orochimaru). Also, maybe the fact he already had a rinnegan before might give him an advantage.

I think that the shinju are extensions of the ten tails. I think destroying the emaciated ten tails might have the effect of destroying the shinju, which is why they probably moved the main body using code’s claw marks (remember they can use claw marks independently of code). I think having an ego made them smarter on how to survive. Boruto probably figured that the easiest way to defeat the shinju would be to destroy the main body of the ten tails, which is why he went after it.

Personally I think just splitting the 10 tails up into different pieces would make something like this happen. At least at some point. Because we know the first ten tails was broken up into the other tailed beasts and they all gained personalities. What Code did is just the same thing but on a greater scale. I'm wondering if these claw grimes that are senju are creating a clan of strong senju, thus using the splitting of a claw grime to the advantage of the creation of the clan, where they stole the ten tails in order to precisely place a claw grime to where they want to create a new senju. I almost wonder if it's possible for them to trap a claw grime and release it after beating a strong opponent.

I dont see why they would want to become otsutsuki if they are stronger that them. Wouldnt that be counter productive, trying to become weaker.

I think giving up some power temporarily is a fair trade for never needing to fear becoming lumber again. Plus, Otsutsuki can grow stronger by absorbing more Chakra, so the weakness is short-term.

Basically, Ohtsutsuki created Ten tails, or found a planet where Ten Tails can be farmed, then the Ohtsutsuki distribute these Ten tails according to their ranks, that's why Ishiki and Kaguya were allowed to carry 2, to wipe out Earth, since Earth has a lot of Nature energy, But Momoshiki and Kinshiki were allowed to carry a dozen, since Momoshiki is part of main family (Royalty). These ten tails were altered by Ohtsutsuki to make it so their sole purpose is to eat, until they found Ohtsutsuki and make divine trees, but this first alteration weren't natural, thus The whole ten tails species harbour strong hatred towards Ohtsutsuki. Therefore, Ten tails after gaining consciousness and becoming shinju are now looking for a way to access karma powers, to make themselves effectively immortal and survive divine tree process. They all want to eat a chakra fruit that bas chakra of several dead Ohtsutsuki, as Earth has had Hagoromo, indra, ashura, kaguya and possibly Shibai die. Thus Earth now contains chakra of So many Ohtsutsuki, plus Boruto and Kawaki are present there as well, So its highly likely that a divine fruit from Current Earth will make a shinju into a complete and possibly stronger Ohtsutsuki, thus allowing them access to not only Karma, but also Shinjutsu (karma prolly is a shinjutsu). Therefore now Shinju can get revenge from Ohtsutsuki clan for millennia of suffering.☠️

Hey Nick, small gripe: Everyone, you included, keeps refering to these Shinju as the "New Akatsuki", and thats... just wrong. These entities are the new Paths of Pain, lemme clarify: They all share some form of telepathy, they each have Rinnegan, they each have porcelein skin and a thousand yard stare. Each is capable of doing things that are Otstusuki in nature, and each is far over Kage level. Its just my personal narrative, of course, but I strongly feel calling them the "New Akatsuki" is both incorrect, and lowballing the threat level they embody.

I think they're called "Shinju" because they are still fragments of the 10 tails and if one of them eats an Otsutsuki, the entire 10 tails turns into a Divine Tree, meaning they all die all at once. Hence "Shinju" and hence why it's probably not a good idea for ANY of them to eat Boruto

Can you imagine? The story starting off with Boruto desperate for attention from his father, so desperate in fact that he cheated during the churning exams and Naruto removing his Shinobi status, to having to fight his dad and revert him to save him and Naruto being so proud and thankful for his son he was once ashamed of, of saving him, Hinata, and the planet bringing the story full circle. what if Shibai Otsutsuki is all 4 of them at once like something similar to the RInnegans ability to use dead people as puppets. it would make some sense since all those 4 probably have the same chackra signature as the Juubi. or What i f Shibai Otsutsuki used to be like 1 of those 4. a Juubi like creature that gains consciousness and evolved. my 2nd theory about the Otsutsukl. is that they are just humans that evolved using the Juubi. like obsorbing the Juubi makes you completely white/grey. idk im high rn lmao
