Naruto learned about that in episode 19, and in a much more brutal way. He was a year older than Boruto at that time, but Zabuza being used by Gato and Haku being used by Zabuza was a hard pill to swallow for us, especially since a lot of us were Naruto's age when we started watching it.

To sum up this episode, we are questioning the ethics, morality, and purpose of war. But let me go through the episode chronologically. Aftermath episodes are really important, but what's more important is how they handle it. Metal losing hope and purpose in finding his teammates was nice, but if they dwelt on it a bit more, it would have been something good for his character. Buntan and Sarada's clash of ideologies Boruto and Sarada, and Buntan are the main representatives of one who have been nurtured in a peaceful village (B & S) and the other being one who has experienced the harsh reality of the world at a younger age (Buntan). There are times where that kindheartedness bites you in the back, but there are times it is also good to have, and vice versa. The Anime's progression is slow on purpose, and when you look through the entirety of the series, Boruto slowly starts to experience the hardships of the world when he goes to more missions. To a lot of people, they can relate to this, either being born in peaceful countries or even dangerous ones. It's one thing I love about Boruto. While it is fiction, it covers and draws a lot of inspiration to real life. There are other themes of realism as well, such as parenthood, science, and so on. Buntan makes very valid points when arguing with the rest. The morality of killing an enemy isn't good, but by doing so, there is the potential to prevent a greater danger emerging from it. It's why Metal and Boruto were stunned to speak against her, because they can understand her view as well. Since Buntan and the rest are older, she's less niave. She has more experience. While Boruto and the opposite. But both parties make good points for everything. In the end, letting the funato member alive made them realize about Ikada's identity. Kyoho being accepted They're definitely setting up Kyoho's character for something (probably death). He's always feared for his appearance yet Kagura's village accepts him, which gives him that temptation to stay with them, and to settle down. Almost everyone in the 7 ninja swordsmen are being fleshed out, and as of now, Kyoho's the weakest for me. Hope to see more of him. Iwabe and Denki's escape flashback it's obvious they wouldn't die, but I did like how even though Iwabe could have casted his jutsu to let them escape whenever, he waited for the right time to do so because if he did it earlier, they would have had to fought a whole army of Funato members, without food as well (remember, they practically ate). Just something for ya'll to realize and to debunk something if this is a problem in the first place. Boruto's denial Boruto's denial of Funamushi's character is good. He's reacting the way he did because Iwabe's and Denki's logical theory created a contradiction to Boruto. Why would this heartless killer, that you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, spare you? It means that Boruto's been assuming way too many things about Funamushi's character just by clashing with each other. When you're fighting with someone, you often only don't care about what they are fighting for. What's their purpose of fighting. Boruto learning the hardships of life not only led him to be less naive, but it also caused him to think with more nuance. It used to be naive Boruto to bloodlusted Boruto to nuanced Boruto. This probably sounded dumb 😂 but you get what I mean. Boruto's fight really good fight by a competent animator. Whoever animated this took "elite army of funatos" seriously because this dude held his own well against Boruto, who's at least low jonin by now. Boruto setting environmental benefits is really good. Love to see them do that, and hoping to see Boruto use more ninja tools as well such as wires. Boruto's realization Boruto had a mental nerf in the fight near the end, causing him to daze. He's deep in thought, and moved on from denial to acceptance. Boruto comes to the cycle of hatred and revenge by his own, and he wants to do something about it. I'd say this is good development for Boruto, from once a brat who didn't want to do anything with ninjas, to understanding the nuances of war, and how it isn't so simple as to A has to beat B and win the war. There's circumstances behind everyone's actions, and that needs to be taken into consideration. This was what I wanted out of this arc. Impactful moments that change the thinking of characters. This arc had a lot of potential, and I'm glad to see some aspects blooming. Hoping to see more. Mitsuki has his own little growth as well. He's learning the nuances of being a human, especially since he has his own will now. One thing about long arcs in Boruto is that they can cover a lot of character developments for a lot of characters. Almost everyone in this episode has their own little character arc going on. Continuing with Boruto, Boruto starts to change as a person, where instead of pushing the blame on a different party, saying "they started it first", he starts weighing both sides of the same coin, while Buntan is exactly the opposite. Not saying who's right or wrong, but they're all valid. Sometimes you can't even think about issues like this. You have no choice but to fight, but because Anime, Boruto will do something about it. Overall, this was a really good episode. I can't really think of criticisms so if you have any just give one and we'll talk about it. Critical score: 7/10 not bad, but not mid either. It's like a grade B for me ngl. Enjoyment score: 8/10 I was hooked because the message of the episode is really strong.

I know this is the kind of stuff that we've been told since AT LEAST the Pain Arc, but i think this is the first time we're actually settled with an actual dilemma. Because tbh, even in early Naruto, we were always given clear Dark Vs. Light conflicts, you know Gaara was in the wrong, Orochimaru was a psychopath, Sasuke was the one filled in hatred, Danzo was willing to corrupt the system and use unethical methods, and Madara wanted to control. The closest to actually having a dilemma were Itachi and Pain, Itachi due to hindsight, and Pain despite his intentions, was working through a form of dictatorship. Here, it's a conflict that has now turned into a Chicken or The Egg scenario. They are attacking because they got attacked before.

This arc was a bit lagging in the beginning, it picked up its pace during the middle region, But their decision with the last 2 to 3 episodes like killing off certain characters and focusing way too much on minor villains didn't get the impact they were hoping for. Not to mention the animation problems also added to this problem resulting in this arc being treated as a meme. Today's episode was quite good, and the animation is almost back to its usual style, also having a bit of sakuga moments in between. The return of the cycle of hatred ideology also is nice as it shows the parallels between Naruto and boruto. All in all, as of right now, It's not bad per say, but it could've been multiple times better. it's a decent arc with its up and downs.

This episode is a grat character development for the whole crew, but I also think about the hidden purpose of it. If you think twice and look at it differently, there are a lot of foreshadowings about the future of the series. Boruto not wanting war, Kawaki's different ideologies, Mitsuki's support for Boruto and his will aligning with it, Sarada's indecisiveness(I say that, because she now has felt the death of a comrade, and her sorrow for not succeeding in defending them, which will lead to her will to prevent war and defend her comrades) --- this sets up the team 7 vs kawaki in the future. The different ideologies and ideas for a better world.

Seems that Boruto has a point tbh, aside from the talk no jutsu he's asking a good question. He lost a friend, got revenge, but as a consequence of his revenge someone wants to get revenge on him now. Some of the others are seeing his point too. Saw another comment somewhere saying that this arc could influence Kawaki when he says the age of shinobi is over. "The Cycle of Hatred" may be one thing to eventually change his mind about being a shinobi after seeing it happen and the impact it has on his friends, along with the moral questions... I guess eventually Sasuke might influence Boruto to do what's necessary to protect the village and still maintain faith in the shinobi system... being inspired by Itachi. If they expand on Sasuke being Boruto's sensei though. Lots of people criticise this arc but I personally like these ideological questions about the world...it's good that they're showing them

1. Fused Momoshiki used Shikamaru's shadow paralysis jutsu on them to where they couldn't move and Boruto had to throw his vanishing rasengan in order to free them and save them. 2. After the fight vs Naruto and Sasuke, Fused Momoshiki replenished his health and chakra with the scientific ninja tool from Katasuke and ate 3 more chakra pills which replenished him even further and still lost 1v1 to KID Boruto while Naruto and Sasuke were pinned down by chakra rods. 3. Base Boruto using a shadow clone was capable of blitzing Fused Momoshiki and punching him in the stomach, activated his jougan and countered Momoshiki's taijutsu which created an opening for another vanishing rasengan hit to his ribcage all before the real Boruto came out of the sky with his giant vanishing rasengan(that was mixed with both Boruto and Naruto's chakra) to defeat Fused Momoshiki. But the *FACT* remain that KID Boruto did indeed fight *FUSED* Momoshiki 1v1 and held his own and won proving he's already Otsutsuki tier, it's not debatable.
