When comparing counter depth refrigerators in store I noticed that the Bosch doors rub the cabinet when opening the doors all the way. It is due to the placement of the top hinge. It is placed in a way that causes more of the door to hang out when opening. Other counter depths like GE and Kitchen Aid do not have that problem. I am not sure if it was corrected, meaning it may have been an older model being displayed. Some of the stores list the product number and don't specify whether it is an 800 or 500. I did go to several appliance stores (Best Buy, Brandsmart, Lowes and Home Depot) it was an issue at all. I found it disappointing because it seems to have better mechanical components. I am leaning towards the GE for this reason
@YaleAppliance13 жыл бұрын
Due to the way the unit is hinged it does require more space to open the doors all the way. So you would want to be sure the doors/seals are completely exposed.

If my experience with GE is any indication, don't walk away. RUN! This applies to any and all brands made by Haier. I had a problem with my GE Hotpoint fridge after only nine months, and calling for service was a nightmare (the woman on the other end was working from home, and every time she started talking to me, her baby started shrieking, not whimpering, but full air raid siren sound effects). She was very rude when I tried to suggest that she close a door so that I could hear her, and she told me that she wasn't going to book a service appointment for me, and she hung up. I wrote off that fridge, and I share the experience at every opportunity. Again STAY AWAY FROM ANY GE APPLIANCE (had similar experience with a GE washer) OR ANY OTHER BRAND MADE OR MARKETED BY HAIER.

great overview. Have to disagree on the quiet part, the compressors make an intrusive ringing sound while running, and because it has two compressors very often at least one is running. Called bosch factory service out and they said the noise is normal. One friend I know returned his and the new unit made the same noise.
@janerikborge3 жыл бұрын
These new hi tech fridges may measure quieter, but the annoying buzz sounds they make can drive you nuts.
@tyroneedge82672 жыл бұрын
You quite possibly have a ton of noise on your electrical lines, I doubt it’s the fault of your fridge.
@richfroehlich23692 жыл бұрын
Disagree...I never hear mine running. Best refrigerator I've ever owned.
@janerikborge3 жыл бұрын
I have the Beko / Bloomberg French door counterdepth, and it is pretty noisy despite having an inverter type compressor. Paying the extra money for a quieter fridge is money well spent.

Bosch dishwashers are next to impossible to get today. I spoke to one dealership who said they’ve been on backorder for over 6 months.

Almost all brands are having significant issues shipping products, so selection might not be as great as we wish

had a lg refrigerator, at two years the compressor died. Replaced. New compressor never worked. told it could not be fixed. gave us full initial purchase price toward a new refrigerator. Yet consumer reports rates lg the best. any brand can bite you.

What is with the water inside the fridge?!? I get that it looks nicer on the outside, but it seems so annoying to open the door every time you want water... Edit: You're amazing for doing these comparisons!
@YaleAppliance13 жыл бұрын
It's an aesthetic preference for sure. In use, the water/ice can also run down the stainless if you're not careful.
@edxmon3 жыл бұрын
@@YaleAppliance1 It's more than aesthetic. When the ice dispenser is exterior mounted on the door, opening the door can cause the ice sitting in the dispenser to melt and then re-freeze, creating a big clump of ice which the auger inside the dispenser cannot break, causing the motor to jam or fail.

All service guys recommend inside due to the amount of mold that builds up on the door water dispensers.

Is the pull-up drawer dedicated to Deli and cheese? Do you know what temperature the drawer is set to and if there is any humidity control? I believe this drawer should have a low humidity setting. With regards to the four-door unit. How is it possible to keep both vegetables in one bin and fruits in the other when vegetables require a high humidity environment and fruits a humidity environment?

Bosh B36CT80SNS looks almost exactly the same as Thermador freestanding T36FT820NS with different material in the back on the inside. Which one would you recommend? Do they really have the same functions?
@YaleAppliance12 жыл бұрын
Yes they are the same functionally so purchase the aesthetic that works best for you.
@naominelson432215 күн бұрын
I had the same decision to make. I chose the Bosch because I actually like the silver backing in the interior better and you get the flex bar (gives you extra shelf space). Cost was also a factor. Why pay more than 2k for just a name?
@5610winston3 жыл бұрын
