While reversing with a short log in it, it got stuck and broke the safety.
No problem thanks to Bosch support and this site:
www.powertools-aftersalesservi...
(use modelnummer 3600H03301 in this case, replace both 'fr' in the link by your land code)
For just 12€ and a bit of work I can continue. Bit disappointed to discover both welds of the wheels have cracked... I do have to drag it over a rough bumpy road, which probably caused this.

Thanks for this. My AXT 25 TC was just bleeping and wouldn't run. Assumed it was the safety interlock so dismantled it following your instructions. Couldn't find anything wrong including testing the interlock switches. Reassembled it and amazingly it is working fine again. Don't know what was wrong.

Great to know you got some help by watching my vid! It is indeed tricky that the error beep does not tell which sensor is causing it to beep (they could have used e.g. 2beeps container safety, 3beeps interlock safety etc). I guess the reed-contacts that are closed by the magnets on the moving parts, are all connected in series and cause one single error-signal. Cheap & simple. Have not tried myself, but for diagnostic purposes, you can verify each safety by measuring the resistance over each safety, which should be zero ohm once closed. Thanks for sharing your experiences, cheers.

Great video m8. You just saved me hundreds of pounds to get it fixed by a professional. In my case it was the switch behind that broken latch you replaced. I followed your link and ordered the part needed. The repair cost me £3.65 👍😎

I have the AXT 25D which is very similar but without the turbine cutter. I had to replace the capacitor and found that the rolled pin on the red knob was easily pushed out with an old 2mm drill bit. Put the shank of the drill bit in , light hammer tap and out it comes.

Thanks for sharing that Duncan. Indeed old drills or drill bits can works nicely as drivers for all kind of situations! I found a nice page showing the 25D like you're working with broyeur-vegetaux.com/bosch-axt-25-d/

Safest way to clear a blocked turbine - Firstly, use a 16mm socket/adjustable spanner to slacken off the anvil nut on the outside of the machine [push in the black knob on the same side as the red knob safety screw]. Secondly, press the button to reverse turbine to free the blockage. Thirdly, retighten the anvil nut, press stop and then go. Works every time.

Thanks for your reaction, but in my point of view it does not matter if you release the pressure on the turbine guide block before you reverse, or not. The design flaw lies in the fact that as soon as the turbine reverses, it pushes back upwards the 'what-ever-it-blocks' and with some bad luck, it will do this such, that the blocking part backs up against the black support shroud, through the black security lever plastic and then hitting on the switch-latch that in turn breaks off not designed to withstand this sort of force. In fact, the flaw lies in the black plastic security lever which you normaly pull outwards to deinstall the black shroud for cleaning. It has a locking mechanism that can spring open under pressure from the reversing branch...

@@Ernie-Tech Well, you've been very unlucky. I've been using mine as a professional gardener on multiple garden clearances with only a few occasions where I've jammed up the turbine with branches that were too thick or pronged branches creating the same effect. I take your point on board and will hopefully not experience the same. If so, then I know that there is a fix. Thanks for a good upload. I love my machine - yesterday, I crunched through a massive pile of Leylandii branches with only one jam and I used my method of slackening off the anvil before reversing without the issue you had. All the best.

@@austenj4539 Indeed, it must have been bad luck. Been using it daily during spring and autumn intensly and never had that problem again :-) Actually, the guide block on the turbine is worn in so much, it sometimes makes rope out of branches in stead of chips !!! There a clear mismatch visible in the middle between the block and turbine, about which I'm a bit disappointed already after just about 3 years...

Can't judge your skills if you would be able to do it. Beware that rotating parts often have counter-clockwise thread. Haven't done it myself and check out it is not only the turbine but also the adjustable contra-piece of metal plate that forces the wood into the turbine that causes poor results after some years. This plate wares down more quickly and you can see its aging by removing the collector bin and shine upwards with a torch or in bright daylight: If you can see clearly in between the plate and the turbine, it needs replacing and always it's better to do both, but again this is different in each machine and depends on how and for what kind of wood it was used. Resharpening the turbine is only possible on a lathe and seen it's cone-shaped, you need to be a specialist! Try first to contact a Bosch Service centre and ask the price (incl transport and taxes) of those parts and their delivery time, before you decide what to buy. Good luck!

The whole aluminum assembly of this machine is done out of some rubbish metal, that cracks easily. I have cracked the ear of the holding plate, that supports the chute in place while operation, which costs 70 USD. This machine is a garbage made to make you buy Bosch spare parts.
@Ernie-Tech
@Ernie-Tech 3 жыл бұрын
Yep I have to agree that I was also not under the impression this machine is very resistant to real country-side-living, where it is supposed to be used. It is more for rural/urban/quiet/gardening kind of purposes ;-( The poor welding of the chassis, the uneasy displacements on rough ground, fragile wheels, all show that Bosch should stick to what they do best: electric motors...
@__LIN___
@__LIN___ 3 жыл бұрын
The good about it is that this metal can be welded, if you save all the cracked parts. Otherwise the bosch repair service is a joke. They should take the machine with a courier to bring it to the repair shop and cannot give you an approximate repair price (even if you give them a parts list what has to be replaced) before they do diagnostics. They even cannot give you timeframe for the repair if the spare parts are not in stock. A complete joke.

No, luckily I am not Russian! I am in the EU, Bosch said they have the spare parts (chute and support plate) in stock only in Germany, which made me order from neighbouring Romania. I've already welded the broken supporting plate and was going to assemble the machine, when I spotted the broken spot weld on the bottom of the frame, just by the wheels. It's really unserious to make just a spotweld there on a 31.5kg heavy machine! That's a joke. So I have to weld also this and fingers crossed when the new chute arrives it will work again. But I also spotted broken parts from the alum. housing of the rotating drum - obviously the metal is a crap. Actually I bought this machine as spare parts and I am trying to revive it from certain death, but my first impressions from the impact with it are not very promising. As for the bosch repair service - it may be well working for bosch itself, but for me is pretty not good to send my machine to a service center via courier and not to be able to talk directly to a technician and to know the approx. price of the repair just as I bring the machine to the service center.

I have very nice stuff made in China and none good from BOSCH even some were still made in Germany. Actually mine was made in Hungary but it worked less than 3.5 minutes and cut in total 6(six) very thin branches before going in long. long warranty repair.

So sorry to discover your question just now, never got an update from YT that you left this! :-((( Well it is not the turbine nor the motor or its gearbox in between, the first thing it should do after power-on is light up the leds. I wonder if you have discovered anything by now? It must be a power supply problem between mains/and dc voltage on the logic circuit board. Did you use a voltage meter to check if Vac from mains arrives in the machine? The gearbox has a ration of at least 1:50 so moving the turbine manually is out of the question. Let me know how you are today! Happy to help if I can.

@@jimbossimrigs7961 Allrighty then, I presume your power cable isn't damaged and 240Vac arrives on the controller board, you might consider first availability and costs of a new controler pcb. Unless you're an electronics technician. Have a look at kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5WbgpaPgc-Hm7M or if this link gets blocked by YT try search on "Replacing Bosch AXT25TC motor controller". Sorry to read about your unlucky experience with getting the right quality aluminium spare part Vladimir. If you find this protection switch annoying, you can also consider simply to bypass it by permanently connecting the wires (at your own risk). Personally, I think it is a design flaw of Bosch that reversing a blocking branch can lead to a broken protection switch lever, but that is another subject.
