Thank you Scott! I used this video and part to replace the drain pump on a Bosch Super Silence Plus 42 DBA that was throwing up an E63-02 error code. Getting the unit disassembled was quite easy, but putting it back together was hard. I had a hard time fitting the new pump in. I had to use plenty of dish soap on the unit itself, rather than the pump, and push quite firmly. I wish I'd taken a video of how I disassembled the unit so it would have been easier to put back together. I followed other commenters advice and used towels to clean up the excess water before disassembling the unit, so very little spilled out. The local appliance guy wanted $500 to do this. I'm saving this video and next time I'm going to book a facetime with you.

Thanks Scott. My Bosch dishwasher required that all the screws be removed, in order to remove the door panel, because it's one piece (not two like the one you were working on) but everything else was the same and it was a quick fix. I'm so happy I didn't have to call a Bosch repair person. Thanks again!

I kept getting the "E-24" error code, and was always able to fix it by cleaning out the sump. Until two days ago, when I couldn't get it to reset after a good cleaning. So I called the appliance repair guy, and he said that he could come in two weeks. So I found your video, and you explained the pump replacement so well that I ordered a pump. It came today, and an hour later my dishwasher is working again. Thanks for the great video!

Great video. Replaced mine in < 1 hr. Make sure to seat the new pump securely. I suggest to give rock it a little after you think you've got it on. When I wiggled mine after I thought it was on I found the back of the motor moved and had to twist and push at the same time to seat the back of it. Should barely move at all if it's on correctly.

This was the video that gave me confidence to tackle this job on my Bosch SHE65P********. Great video and explanation helped everything go as described. Tested old pump and had 25.5 ohm's resistance and it ran fine on the bench though opaque plastic housing looked very dirty inside. New pump had 27.0 ohm's and opaque plastic housing looked very clean (white inside). Took old pump apart and about 5 -10 drops of stinky water was inside. I'm guessing the rubber seals on the old pump gave out after 9 years allowing water in the sealed magnet area causing torque loss as pump tried to push water up to the counter mounted air gap. Would be nice if they made a seal kit and you could save most of the $100 cost of a new pump. Thanks for your help!

If you remove 2 screws you can pull the whole thing out and lay it on it's side, right? Sometimes if a thick flooring was installed after the dw was there, it's really hard to get the unit out, and maybe this way is better.

Scott, helpful video, thank you. Question: our Bosch SHX5AVF5UC dishwasher has been having trouble draining for about a year. First thought it was the drainage hose which I cleared and the dishwasher drained well for about a year. Now, having problems draining again. When I disconnect drain hose, water seems to flow unimpeded, indicating no blockage in the hose as before. When I pull up on the float inside the dishwhasher, the pump runs for a couple cycles, about 10 seconds (and drains water) but then stops. If I wait a few mins, and pull up on the float, it will again drain for about 10 secs. The impeller runs freely; there does not seem to be anything impeding its function. Since the pump only works for a few seconds when I start it by pulling up on the float, do you think this means the drain pump is bad?
@murraygardens5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your video. My problem (which I was able to fix) was that my Bosch out of the blue wasn't draining and the water pooled in the bottom of the dishwasher. I took out all the water with a shop vac and reset it and tried again. The Bosch then wasn't able to start I assume because it starts by draining any old water which it wasn't able to do The suggestion here to first check the drain hose where it connects to the sink drain pipe is a good one. It's easy to remove (though awkward as hell to get at) and I found a few pieces of debris where the drain hose meets the drain pipe. People should start there to see if that is the easier solution before taking out the drain pump.

How to tell if its the pump or the drain when water not draining inside the dishwasher?
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Жыл бұрын
Hey David, it’s usually something clogging the drain hose where it connects to the air-gap or where it connects to the garbage disposal.
@davidm71 Жыл бұрын
Well I disconected the drain tube from the disposal and got no water coming through. Used an hvac to clear water from the base of the dishwasher and got it to run for couple minutes longer. Only thing is when install guys were installing drain hookup they had trouble getting it to screw on the threads. Thanks.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel First of all, thank you for your reply. I’m troubleshooting and Ascenta SHE6AF02UC/05 and have cleared the drain hose, p trap, and even removed the drain pump and inspected the check valve. All are good. When I lift the flood dome at the bottom of the dishwasher, the pump activates and turns. I can momentarily see a whirlpool forming at the base of the unit but then it stops. If initiating the drain by canceling the cycle while the door is closed, it throws E25 code. The motor itself makes a high pitch whine noise (not really loud) while spinning and then stops. I’m thinking some water got onto the motor and made it weak or faulty. Do you have any suggestions or do you think it’s a bad motor I’m dealing with.

Read the comment that I’m supposed to always have 2 cups of water at the bottom, but it is reddish and smelly so I’m assuming something is stuck. My setup underneath looks different. There is a beige plastic piece across the bottom and a tube in front of the drain. Guessing that the wires are in that. Any ideas how to get past that? And do I pull the dishwasher out to get to the drainage hose? Can I just pull or is it attached to something in the back? Thx in advance for your help!

for a Bosch drainage problem (no garbage disposal), after making sure the sump and all the hoses from the dishwasher to the junction with the sink drain were clear, including the tee where it joins, I was about to order a new drainage pump, when I decided to check the p-trap. There was a pair of chopsticks in the p-trap covered in goo. Problem solved. In retrospect the sink drained slowly too.
@LR-gy9zf5 жыл бұрын
Ok. I followed your instructions and pulled the pump out. I found an rubber band wrapped around the impeller and removed it. Put it all back together and ran a 29 min cycle for washing glasses to test if the machine would drain. The water drained just fine so that problem is fixed by then I got an E11 code. Did I disturb some wires somewhere?

I got a Bosch that looks almost like this one. I bought it New at Lowe's $550. The first week it worked great. Then it started sounding like a motor boat when it went into the drain cycle. I get this E 24, or E25 error. I use a shop vac and clean it out. But it did not help. In the first month I called the repair guys out 3 times. The third repairman said he put a new drain pump in. So we ran a test and it worked but still sounded like a motor boat in the drain cycle. He leaves and I run a load of dishes I get the error codes again. Over the next 3 years I called the repair guys out 9 times. And it has never worked right. I found a work around. I took my shop vac and hooked it to the drain hose under the sink. When it went into the drain cycle I flip the switch and let the shop vac suck out the water. It is a pain in the backside to do it this way. So the other night I took it apart and pulled the drain pump off. The propeller had 3, not sure what you call them fins or arms left on it . 6 of them were broken off. This is why it sounded like a motor boat. Number 3 repairman Never changed the drain pump out. I took the man at his word. And this is why I could not figure out what was wrong. While it was under warranty, I did not want to work on it, afraid that would might void the warranty. One would think that one of the other 6 repairman that came out would have been able to fix it. All of them told me to wash the dishes before I put them into the dishwasher. I was already doing this. So I got to thinking about the roller for the baskets. I had trouble with them popping off. At the time this did not seem like no big deal. I could just pop them back on. But when I got a close look at some of them, I noticed that where they snap back on the basket, the little tabs that hold them in place were broken off. I can not say for sure if this is what broke the fins on the propeller off. But it is my best guess. So I replaced the drain pump. Now I am on my third load of dishes. First one did fine. Second one I got the error codes. Cleaned it out and ran it again and it worked. Third load just finished and worked fine. And it is quite, it does Not sound like a motor boat. I am NOT impressed with the repairman. Just saying IF you have to call one to come out, watch them like a hawk.
