Thanks very much for the helpful tips. My Bosch dishwasher was purchased in 2012 (Model SHX68R55UC) and it does not have a Start/Resume button. I had to press the On/Off button to start a full dishwashing cycle, close the door, immediately open the door again after the cycle starts, and then press and hold the Auto and Normal buttons for three seconds. Once I closed the door, the drain cycle started and ran for one minute as you show in your video.

Try half a cup of malt vinegar mixed with 1 to 2 teaspoons of baking soda and tip it in to the bottom basket to sit before the next wash cycle. It works to unblock everything but check for any bits of solid sediment. Hope this may help !

Thanks. Is it normal to have *some* water under the filter area after a drain? Or is it supposed to be almost bone dry? Asking because let’s say I leave for vacation, there is some dirty water in that reservoir left alone for weeks, in an enclosed dishwasher.. can get smelly.
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel2 жыл бұрын
About a cup of water under the filter is normal. It helps keep the rubber seals moist. You can put in 2 drops of Clorox bleach while you’re gone👍

Scott, I have about a cup of water left every time I run the dishwasher. I understand this can keep the seals wet, which is a good thing. But where I live it’s humid, so even with the filter cleaned regularly, this water gets smelly after only a day! Only two of us, so it takes a while to fill the washer. We have had repairmen work and work on the drain, we leave to door open overnight, I try to manually empty it out, nothing helps. Is putting bleach in our only solution to the smell?

I followed your instructions. I took the filter out. Cleaned it and brushed it well. Put boiling water into the sink. Started the dishwater. It runs as if it were cleaning but it still does not drain. Any more suggestions?

It’s probably that round air gap thing up near the kitchen faucet.

@ Thank you a Scott. What position should the air gap be? I took the top off. I see a window. Should that be covered or uncovered?

Btw, I have one of these Bosch. I think it's draining ok but there's always a detergent smell on the dishes. Can't tell if it's because it's not rinsing well enough or something else. Any thoughts?

Any idea how to start a drain cycle on the Bosch SHE3AR55UC/08. I've tried the reset by holding the Start button for three seconds but no draining starts.
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel2 жыл бұрын
You did it right. Make sure the door is closed and try keeping it pressed in for 5 seconds. Put your ear down near the bottom front of the dishwasher to listen. You may hear a hum from the drain motor trying to turn. Could be something blocking the impeller from turning.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thanks for the response, I appreciate the help. Initially the dishwasher would run for about five minutes and then show a Clean indicator. I've cleaned out the filter, checked the impeller for food, and dumped the drain tube into a bucket and checked for food (no air gap to check). Now, I can get a full wash cycle to run but there is still standing water at the bottom of the dishwasher and I also notice water in the drain tube. Throughout the process I could not get a manual drain cycle to run. Any ideas what could be causing the issue?

Hello Scott, I have a question please if you have time? I do not have an error code, rather I cannot get the the washer to drain completely after I hit the reset button. After hitting the reset button, the draining process stops after about 10 seconds, now less the more I reset. There is a small amount of water left (about an inch or two) near the filter, and nothing blocking when I check. Filter is brand new. Washer worked perfectly after installing new filter for first wash, however on second wash problem started as I accidentally put in a sponge that was filled with very concentrated soapy sudsy water and it caused the bottom of the dishwasher to fill with the same type of sudsy water. Although the draining cycle does not go for the full amount of time, Initially I was able to hit the reset button several times and get most of this sudsy water to drain out, however, now that I am down to the last two inches, the reset draining process only lasts a few seconds before shutting off and will not seem to drain this last little bit. Any suggestions? No error codes, just 0:00. Many thanks and kind regards from CA
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marie, Great question. The reason it’s only draining for 10 seconds is that it’s still pushing through the sud bubbles which makes the drain motor overheat too fast. Can you add one cup of vinegar into the water and let it sit for half an hour to break apart the suds and then try the drain process again.
@MissPapatoetoe2 жыл бұрын
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Hello Scott, a million thanks for your response, we so appreciate it! We took your suggestion and hit then reset button…no change unfortunately. I forgot to mention that 2 inches of water is not in bottom/pan of dishwasher but below where the filter is. After hitting reset button the draining ran for a few seconds and I tried running a cycle after just to see what would happen and it of course stopped and went to 0:00. The water rose a bit to the top of the filter and still looks a bit sudsy so I hit reset button one more time and no change. The plot thickens! Any suggestions at this stage? Many thanks and much appreciation in CA
