Hi, thanks a ton for showing how to open that white part so clearly. I generally use the quick cycle on a regular basis on my month old siemens dishwasher & it worked great with 10-15 gm of Finish detergent. But since last 3 cycles, I have few soap suds remaining on the bottom of the dishwasher at the end of the quick cycle (the water drains away). To clear away the soap suds, after unloading the dishwasher, I tried the Prerinse cycle which runs only for 15 min. on an empty dishwasher without adding any detergent & opened it when 12 min. were left. There was soapy water inside & all the water drained away at the end of 15 min. leaving behind extremely miniscal amount of soap suds behind. I clean the outer filter very 2nd day & so its always pretty clean. I ran the Prerinse cycle again & that cleared away the soap suds totally. Seeing your video, I had the courage to open up that white part revealing the impeller inside which moved freely . There was some water below the outer filter in that hollow place inside. Is that normal? There was barely a strand & v. minute 3-4 debri particles. My vacuum cleaner doesn’t suck up water & so I just cleaned dipping a Microfiber cloth inside. Why do I have this soap suds since I haven’t changed the detergent or the type of cycle which I run? Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you once again for this demo

I should imagine the cleaning programme is too short for it to work properly. Our dishwasher standard cleaning cycle takes 2hours30mins! Try a normal programme

You’re going to love me after you read my comment/advise. I always put dishwasher powder/liquid not just inside the sealed lockable compartment, but most importantly also outside of it. Logically answer yourself this question, when is the detergent required the most, when the dishes are the dirtiest at the beginning of cycle or halfway through when they are already partially rinsed by just pure water? The answer is Off course when very dirty at the beginning. So I always split my dishwasher powder between sealed compartment and outside, effectively it gives your dishes a prewash. Most dishwasher actually have designated space for this reason, sometimes uncovered, sometimes under the the main flap slotted section. Frankly my “half “ of powder outside is alway bigger then locked “half”. It also has another benefit apart from cleaning your dishes better, it keeps your dishwasher’s drainage pipes clean, that’s because all this greasy stuff from initial wash is dissolved by the powder you’ve put outside of locked compartment and does not stick to the drainage. For this reason I have never ever used any of those heavily advertised “dishwasher cleaners”. You will notice it yourself when cleaning the filter (still have do it regularly, it’s compulsory), it won’t have this whitish gluey coat that is hard to remove. After 20 years of service I have replaced my old dishwasher with new one and guess what? The drainage pipe was so clean that I have not changed, just reconnected it to new machine. Another tip, when you’re installing your dishwasher, connect it to hot water supply pipe instead of cold. Don’t bother with all in one tablets or pods, always use dedicated powder/liquid and separate rinse aid. By the way rinse aid really makes the difference ton achieve spotless dry dishes. P.S. obviously I am a dishwasher freak.

Many thanks for this video, it was a life saver. Didn’t realise how clogged my filter was. Cleaned all the components you recommended in your video and just ran a hot cycle. All water drained and the dish washer looks a lot cleaner now. Cheers for this and I have sent a Super Thanks as it’s saved me money…👍

I had wondered what the piece of plastic was that was stopping me from putting my filter back in. As you have the same style of dishwasher to me, I knew I'd get the answer. Thank you so much now there is no water ideally in the base of my dishwasher!

Many thanks Lurgs. All dishwashers I assume work on the same principals. Mine is a Kenwood KDW60S20. The confusing issue with me was that the F2 error came on simultaneously to the mains water being temporarily being cut off. When I followed your instructions step by step it turned that a piece of wood (like a toothpick) about 27mm had got through the filter and was stopping the impellor from working. Once removed the water drained out. You saved me €100 for a call out, many thanks

Thank you very much. Mine was pumping OK, but then noice was unbearable. Turns out it was a piece of glass that broke during washing few weeks ago, guess I didn't remove all the pieces and one of them got into propeller. You're life saver or should I say pump saver. Cheers from Poland

thanks for the tip....hopefully, it will work.?....dishwasher and filter were quite clean considering it was 13 years old. When i removed the plastic where the impeller is, there was a few bits of plastic wrap floating around. Ill get back to you when the dishwasher is used next.
