Bosch Tassimo Coffee Machine RED LIGHT fix

Thanks a million, I watched the video about descalling last night and left it ready for morning coffee. Then this morning the coffee light turned red and machine wouldn't work, so watched your video about that and cleaned that area and hey presto... Coffee.

After about 20 cups on a new machine, solid red light. Was the second thing, a Chai Latte had dusted the sensor, gave it a wipe and back in business, thank you !

Awesome, had Bosch Caddy that wouldn't work & it was all to do with cleaning the little glass screen that reads the bar code. Saved £100 buying a new one. Thanks 👍

I don't recall my comment or watching this but my goodness me it's v helpful....i believe they keep stuff like cleaning the nozzle etc to themselves so we buy another machine...ive also realized an oust sachet will descale it thus removing expensive tassimo tablets 🤗it's all a money spinner...thanx again great video ive saved it.

Hi ya, okay what I would suggest is giving it a full clean like in my video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnqtap2geLehjdk) and would also suggest descaling (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaKTdWlsp6mLeJo). When cleaning it, check the parts for any obviously worn parts. Good luck and thanks for your question.

There is another potential problem - faulty barcode, although Tassimo will never admit it! I occasionally get a pack of pods and some barcodes read and others don't. Here's a solution which has always worked for me - remove the barcode with as much surrounding foil as possible from a pod that worked - you only need the barcode that sits over the barcode reader - and stick it over the faulty barcode or just place it above the barcode reader before inserting the faulty pod.

I'm not too sure what you mean by the chip? But if its the yellow disc you need then they can be purchased online. If the machine isn't turning on at all then maybe check the fuse in the plug?

I mean it’s on cause there’s light, so the issue is not with the fuse, it just won’t start working and flash red the whole time I try turning it on

Okay. Have you got enough water in it and does the circular magnet in the water float up with the water? Have you watched my video for cleaning the parts as that may help ensure you have them correctly fitted and finally have you followed the steps for descaling it? Even if you dont have a descaling tablet you could try the steps to see if it clears the problem. (Steps are in my linked videos)

Is the water level high enough? and is the magnet in the water container freely moving and rising with the water level? If so you could try completing the descaling process as it may be confused and think it needs descaling without being used yet. Failing all of that then I would recommend going back to the retailer and seeing what they say.

my machine has condensation on the underside of the barcode reader, have you ever come across this?

No I haven't tbh. I suspect you may have a small gap around the edge of the sensor where steam gets into. If you can see the gap and at a time when the condensation isn't there you could apply a bit of rubbery glue. The one I used in my Fitbit Versa repair video would be ideal.

If you're confident in trying all these methods then perhaps it could be the magnet in the water container. Does that still float when water is added? And did you follow the linked descaling video, as that is most often the problem.
