This Bosch Universal mixer is really powerful. I use the Nutrimill Artiste stand mixer which is the little brother to the Bosch Universal and it's just as powerful. The only peeve I have with this mixer is that it's really designed for large batches. If you're doing a small batch you have to use the bowl scrapper as illustrated in this wonderful video. That coconut cake looks amazing❤️. Thanks for the demo.

You’re welcome! The cake, cookie paddles and bowl scraper are top rack dishwasher safe as mentioned in the video. The metal driver and dough hook (anything metal) is hand wash only 😀

Thanks for such an interesting and helpful review. I can't get over how quickly this mixer combines ingredients. Of course, it's using two beaters that go around the bowl, not just one like most other mixers. The scraper system seems efficient. The only thing I don't like is plastic. I've read that similar beaters for the Ankarsrum mixer will break easily due to plastic gears, hub. The Bosch ones look like they are made of hard plastic, so maybe they're more durable. Again, thank you, and I'm looking forward to your cake recipe.

I rarely use the Ankarsrum's plastic bowl/beaters. I use the stainless bowl and roller/scraper for everything except making pie crust, biscuits, and such. The batter whips are very good for cutting fat into flour.

@@HotVoodooWitch Ankarsrum should re-design that plastic bowl/beater/hub system in stainless steel (and make the bowl a bit bigger than 3.5 quarts.) It would be a good system then. Seems like a waste to not use it when it's an important part of the mixer. Reviews have noted the plastic gears have broken even when butter was soft.

@@sashineb.2114 there's no reason to because it's to appease people who think they need beaters and isn't an important part of the mixer. You can even whip cream and egg whites in the stainless bowl. You can do very small amounts in the stainless bowl. There's no earthly reason to use the plastic bowl unless you want to cut fat into flour.

I don’t know whether to immediately buy a KitchenAid Bowl Lift Stand Mixer (to use alongside my first and current KitchenAid Tilt Head Model) or maybe buy this Bosch Universal Plus Stand Mixer Anita.

After using this Bosch, I feel it’s more powerful and compact when comparing to even higher end Kitchenaids. I’ve reviewed many Kitchenaids and they work just fine. Most of us are used to Kitchenaids and the look plus choice of colors. Kitchenaids do have more speed settings than the Bosch. With the Bosch, it’s pure power and capacity 😁

Thank you for a very good review/tutorial. I'm honestly confused whether to buy the Bosch universal plus. I do a lot of baking but I don't always do a double batch of cookie dough and the most breads I do are 3-6 cups of flour. Is this too much of a mixer for my type of baking? thanks to anyone giving some advice. I need it. Lol

This is a good video, you'd think for a mixer that costs as much as this. That Bosch would have put in more effort than their 40 second videos that only have music. That I guess demonstrate the accessories?

Its a good design. I just hate all the plastic. Feels very cheap and fragile. Give me stainless steel anyday
