Boscombe Down Air Tournament International , Departures day, 15th June 1992

The International Air Tattoo (IAT) at this time was a biennial event usually held at RAF Fairford but the Air Tournament International (ATI) was held at A&AEE Boscombe Down in the intervening year and was Europe's second largest military airshow, after IAT.
This is the video I shot of the weekend, there is also a video of the airshow held on the 13th and14th.
Highlights included the Confederate Air Forces B-24, Anatoly Kvotchur in his Su-27 Flanker, and a rare flying appearance in the UK of an F-14 Tomcat.

I was at this show & depart day. Ultra low fly-by's, unrestricted climb-outs and loads of smoke... G*d I miss these days. Best from NZ.

Happy days when the RAF had so many different aircraft mostly BRITISH. I worked on many of these during my years in the mob as an aircraft engineer. Many years on the beautiful VC10 - I do miss flying in them. I cannot understand why modern aircraft manufacturers dont build rear engine aircraft again? Clean wings, aerodynamically perfect, quiet, short/ high field take off performance to this day unequalled!

92 best year ever , Boscombe and Farnborough were two amazing shows .. Farnborough had the whole Russian Air Force with displays by the Tu-22M Backfire , Yak - 141 Freestyle VTOL plus many others ... But Boscombe and the F-14 will be unforgettable ... Thank you very much uploader ...
