Thanks Ed - my dock is is now working again! Turns out I didn’t have a faulty power supply or port on my dock - just some dirty contacts! Bloody brilliant! Cost me $10 for isopropyl and a bit of time. Saved me like $100 NZ!

can't find DC jack 5.5mmx2.8mm. anyone help me please

As far as I know they are a Bose custom. I have never been able to find them. I have tried many Chinese and Taiwanese agents and manufacturers. The the MOQ is so high (10,000 pieces plus) that it was not cost effective.

Used a digimeter to check if there's an output and shows less than 1V. I guess its busted or something. Any idea if it can be repaired before spending for a new one?

Have you checked the spring contacts behind the socket adaptor. If you drop it on the floor the pins whack the it bends the contacts behind the socket adaptor.. Have a look and lift them, up a bit,

@@razenby The spring contact looks good. I also did put some whiteboard marker on the contacts just to check if its touching the socket adaptor and that looks good

Late comment here .. but any way to get in touch regarding a dock that gets intermittent power?

What model dock are we talking about - A Sounddock Portable Bose? It is very likely that the ribbon cable on the PIO board has become dislodged. (very common). If so to solve this problem see my PIO board replacement procedure at www.invebo.com.(Tech-Guide section) The replacement procedure shows you how to get at (disassembly) and re-seat the ribbon plug. Yes if you can find an adaptor with the correct plug size. Bose use a rare one.
