Another video that I could learn something! Theese appliances getting BIG! I really interested in the next video!!! Can't wait! Let me tell you a quirky though! There are a lot of (generally young, so my generation) people who are Childless, work sedentary, maybe at home so they doesn't eat that much (well I do eat much 😂) and the oven is practically unused. As well as the hob. And we tend to have more gadgets, feel comfortable using them. So I can see that newly renovated kitchens gonna have a lot of high voltage plugs and no oven or hob. People have rice cookers/electric pressure cookers and airfryers, cooking blenders, etc. So we don't really need an oven, and a hob to cook. We do a lot of thinks differently nowaday, and I think this airfryer can be great for young couples or roommates. So, even if the kitchen is rather small, you can switch the counterspace from the hob to an airfryer and the oven space for the rest of the gadgets. And you can buy reliable induction hobs for crazy cheap nowadays, too! I think we hit a milestone, like the days when we switched from wood stoves to gas hobs and separate space heaters. Another weird thought, as much as I hate buying more and more gadgets because they mean more and more trash one day, but we learned that we are, - for the lack of a better word - "civilised" because homo sapiens started to use Tools, and that's a fact we can't deny. And an airfryer is just an other tool that's gonna be natural to the next generation, like the other inventions to us today.
@CandidClara3 ай бұрын
I agree, I think the way we cook and eat is going through big changes. I wrestle with the electrical waste aspect, it's why I try and steer clear of cheaper kitchen gadgets on this channel. Ultimately I would like to be in a place with this channel where I might be able to hold brands accountable if appliances aren't made to last long or be serviceable.

Great video. On the sausages: with the dual blaze, it helps to know the programs and their functions. For example, if you use "roast", the upper heat element will produce medium heat (low even on bake), and the lower element high heat. On airfry they are even. So for stuff like sausages, use roast, and a tad longer, which will give you a much more even coloring all around, as the upper fan wont blast the sausages as much. While yes the lower element gives heat, naturally it does not project it on the food as directly as the upper element plus fan. Additionally, the sausages don't need airfry, so taking out the crisper plate, and placing them in the drawer directly, would bring them closer to the lower heat element and help them roast more, just like in a pan. So using the sub-modes accordingly is really what gives the dual blaze an edge. And yes, for correction: airfry: up high, low high, roast: up medium, low high, bake: up low, low high, dry, up low, low low.
@CandidClaraАй бұрын
For clarity the different element power levels are mentioned in this video at 3:06. The problem with cooking directly in the pan is that this doesn't allow the fat to drain off them which will be many people's preference. particualry as air fryers are marketed as a healthier way to cook. I agree that the settings provide more flexibility than other air fryer models, although it remains to be seen whether they are just window dressings
@104thironmike4Ай бұрын
@@CandidClara Thank you for the reply! One small detail is wrong though, roast function is high heat on the lower element and medium heat on the high element. I agree, the fat does not drain, but sometimes imo we overthink "healthy" food, particularly when choosing unhealthy options. Sausages and fries, in particular, are not a healthy combo, no matter how much one drains the fat - let us say, in between you and me haha. Hence, much like in a pan, frying the sausages in their own fat, does not hurt (this is from me, as a German haha). They do not quite soak it back up, like fries would. You can always pat them dry afterwards, too, if you want. My rule is a bit different: if I indulge I indulge without kidding myself, but I rather indulge smaller amounts and less often. If one does not eat fries and sausage every day, they do not hurt. But that is the great thing about airfryers: toss in some brokkoli instead, or brussel sprouts, and boom, a healthy snack. Thanks again for the reply, and thanks again for the videos!

I chose the Ideal Vortex twin drawer ( and I do have a 5L Cosori) and the Vortex is a superb air fryer. I've had it close on 3 years and use it daily. When bought it was half the price of the comparable Ninja and had windows and lights Ninja hadn't thought of at that time. For me all air fryers should have an illuminated viewing window and certainly not be as bulky and clumsy as Cosori's new effort. Great review, I subscribed as theDuronic you are to feature looks interesting.

I have a dual drawer Cosori which is my my "normal" air fryer which I actually use in preference to the Ninja AF400 I bought (you might spot that on the shelves behind me!) It's very similar to this TwinFry and I think it's great build quality. The only complaint about the dual drawer, which I think will be the same with the TwinFry, is some people complain about scratches on the high gloss touchscreen, I can't say it has bothered me and of course the TwinFry has an app, so you could do everything on the phone if you want!

A great review Clara. I do have a question that I've not seen you cover on this or the dual draw review. I like to use the paper liners (the ones that come up the sides and don't have holes) under the crisper rack in my current air fryer, it reduces the need to clean the pan after every cook. Are you able to use them in the Cosori? I noticed you mentioned the crispers are a tight fit so I suspect it could be an issue. Also would it affect the operation of the lower heating element?

I think if you use high heat baking paper it would be fine! Check the label. I bet they make some that are safe up to 220 °C!

I confess I misted that first comment (Christmas chaos!) and thought you were trying to decide between the Ninja flex drawer and the Cosori TwinFry (which is what I normally get asked) personally I prefer the dual drawer, if it doesn’t fit in that (which is rare) there’s always the oven!

Hi Clara, all these new Wider/Deeper cooking machines seem to be getting away from what they should be. Next they will be nearly as big as having a traditional oven (without pan cooking rings of course) stuck on a worktop. Not everyone has a 'farm house kitchen' with acres of worktops. I'm starting to get to grips with my Tefal dual basket and mostly use it on Manual settings rather than the built in programme's Cheers DougT

Another bunch of thoughs. Drying: does this has different fan speeds for drying? Mine does. It's a xiaomi smart airfryer. 80°C or bellow it has a slower fanspeed. It currently dries vegetables that are chopped in an electric chopper. They start to dry, and it's still the wind catch some of them. It's not a problem, it has a mesh that can help keep the pieces away from the heating element. Philips has practically a lid with 3 legs to Dehydrate food in it that don't let the pieces fly to the top. Smartness: mine is not smart it's stupid. 😂 You can't really make programs, just presets. Only set time and temp. You can't specify preheat. [I like preheat and I think it has a benefit! But not always use it. The last time I pre-made pizza crust for freezing, I baked the first for 20 mins and the rest for 18. (I can lend a recipe if you want!)] Preheat is only so called "cloud recipes". You can enable it or disable. You don't have access to the temperature sensor! It has one! It's only used at preheating! How do I know? In winter our kitchen is ice cold and boiling in summer. During winter it takes more time to preheat. But you can turn it on or off from anywhere as long as it turned on! Can be useful, but I never used it. And used the delay start, hmm, once? So on mine it's a gimmick. On my coffee maker it's not. It's actually helpful. So I'm not saying smart functions are inherently bad.
