That double sided bogota is kind of like the sparrows worm without rounded peaks. The funny thing is - 9 months ago I sent an email to multipick and asked if they could add top of the keyway tension tools, a bogota and something similar to the sparrows worm to their sets or offer it as single picks. And well - there we go. It's really nice to see that they actually care about feedback!

Bill I love your shows! I'm a seasonal worker and I have been watching all winter on the PS4 app but you can't read or write to the comments section. Watching the picking part got me so intrigued that I picked every lock in my house with just 2 small pieces of broken street cleaner brushes that I picked up for cleaning engine parts, I just recently found a 25mm piece metal almost the size of a sheet of paper, so far I have made 2 double ended picks by eye, one small hook, a w, a bogota, and a city rake(sort of), and surprisingly they work! I live in an apartment building so all the work was done on the couch, it took a week to cut, dremel , file and sand to get both to a mirror finish by hand, so not easy work to do outside of a workshop! You have got my wish list up to $300 at the Lock Pick Canada site! Stop making me want to spend more money!! lol Keep up the great work!

Thanks Bill, if anybody thought me a lot about tension and choosing the correct tool, it’s you. Thank you.

Southampton Lock Picking Club Absolutely, when I first started the hobby, I bought the Sparrows Monstrum XXl pick set and I was shocked at how many tension tools came with it, now I get it.. I even bought more LOL.

The springy shutter lock tensioner is useful for fitting into the top of the keyways also. Bought a cheapy pickset and found that springy tensioner perfect for a lot of locks. Holds itself into place mostly. Watching these to hopefully one day build a challenge lock.

Another slick review Bill. As a noob, the areas nobody seems to cover to any depth are rakes and tensioners. Thanks for filling in a few gaps.

I’m surprised that no one seems to mention the thickness of tension wrenches, only the width. Even as an amateur, I see plenty of keyways where a thicker or thinners wrench would catch better.

@bosnianbill. LPL just posted a video on a vintage euro tubular type dead bolt door lock and he made a tensioner exactly like the "postal lock tensioner" to tension that euro lock. The video posted yesterday 23 March 18

Hey Bill, love the videos, love the reviews. Is there anywhere to find a listing of picks? Thinking of a chart with profiles of the picks, their names, and general purpose. If you know of one can you add that as a link sometime please?

You’re teasing me with the give-away’s. If you’re going to give away the rakes & tensioners, May as well include the lock too! “You’re the Barometer” I use for comparing my skill set, so I’d like to see if I’m raking that lock nearly as well as you! If I win that is :)
@obergruppenfuhrersang-froi82036 жыл бұрын
Please excuse my ignorance, but you said there was a wafer lock tension tool in the tensioner kit...i just ordered a set of riveted wafer picks from sparrows..am i supposed to use a tension wrench with them ? The video i saw you demonstrate them in, you just jiggled them while giving a slight turn. I'm a little confused.
