This is one of the best demonstation video of the unit. Also an inspiration for all the lazy people out there who want readymade presets to find their dream tone.. This is how you build a tone. Cheers!

I used this unit for 3 years. At first for a long time I didnt have my sound dialed in because it have so many cabs, mics and settings it took me at least 15 months to learn what is what. Killer sound, and this unit is cheap. New firmware update comes with Guitar to MIDI so you can use your guitar as a midi controller. You can use the pedals as a midi controller and probably allot of things I am still not aware of. It can reamp. It have 2 outputs in USB port so you can record your effects from one input and DI input on the other. It have a very good audio interface. Plenty of signal in the volume knob. It is a small unit you that you can turn up to insane volumes with its volume knob wich is very impressing. I guarantee you it have more output then any amp can take without clipping, that is if you turn it all the way up, as it all can be adjusted. It takes time to learn as this unit can do insane ammounts of things.

Thats what most people do when they search for amp sound they like, but I found a better method. Scrolling through the presets or amps and speakers is time taking. There are many presets, many amps and speakers, so what I started doing is not choosing any of them at all. Not even amp or speaker cab. This is cosm amp, and it can do its own amp sounds and speaker cab sounds. Completely custom. Try playing with custom amp and custom cab option to quickly get a killer tone. You will find yourself making great sounds faster, and spending more time on playing them rather then searching for them and tweaking to your own needs with EQs and this type of stuff..
@JaredGunstonTV
@JaredGunstonTV 4 жыл бұрын
Fair and valid point. For me I find using this method I learn the types of amps and the possibilities of each. And in my line of work I have to know how to dial up a specific tone type etc so having that knowledge before hand helps me. Thanks for your point though I'm sure it can help some!

I can't understand why someone makes instruction videos without talking, , explaining why, what for, adjustments, steps, moves being applied are doing, causing, what knobs control what functions, parameters. Guess I missed that in First Video? Some insight explanation would be helpful. But I will watch, probably rewatch may understand better, make notes. Receiving GT 100 today, and have to get prepared quickly. Thank You.

Im using a mesa boogie 4x12 and an evh 5150. Ive got my gt100 running through the fx loop of the amp to my liking. I got a great sounds i just wanna add like an ir or something similar to the mooer radar...is it more practical to just use the built in mic placement sim inside of the gt100? If i have a physical 4x12 cab and speakers that i love..do i use the speaker simulation as well? Or should i just use the mic sim? Also do i need to place the mic sim in my signal chain or does it just go automatically when its active
@JaredGunstonTV
@JaredGunstonTV 4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Well... in my honest opinion, if you're using it for Fx and or Amp Control, I used to do the same with a Hughes & Kettner Warp X head and 4x12 cab and I'd just turn the amp section off, play around with output settings though to get the cleanest sound for your setup, Honestly I used to leave it on RECORDING but a lot of guys moan about tone on this setting, vs the Lines or Amp Return Setting, Actually come to think of it... I got good results on the Small Combo vs Stack Return... just have a play and you'll see. If you want to add IR what would you be using it for? To change out your cab sound ? Not best to maybe look at a load box and a IR loader. ? Otherwise running 4 cable method you could achieve different tones to your cabinet if setup correctly. (I THINK!) Short answer: You don't need the Mic Sim and or Amp slot in use is you are using your Head and Cab. Unless you wanted to add a secondary drive/Over Drive or Clean tone into your mix.

I am wondering, if this feature is even usefull when I already play on an amp with speakers. I can go through FX return and use cab sims, but the mic pos and speaker cab sim option just confuses me to the extreme.. Should I even use this? I think its for recording via USB only, but then why the hek I can turn it on and off while I play on an amp? When choosing preset I always have to check if speaker cab sim and mic pos are on because it kinda make no sense in having these on and the difference in sound is big.
@JaredGunstonTV
@JaredGunstonTV 4 жыл бұрын
It's for recording out yes, but great for designing your tone on stage too should you not have an amp and if you do use an amp pop it in the fx return and it will help enhance your tone. If it isn't for you though and you not using the mix section I assume you using amp drive and tone and pedal as an fx centre?

I've had similar problems that stemmed from using the wrong 1/4" Jack adapter. The size and amount of the rings on the plug varies depending on whether it's mono, stereo, has built in mic etc. You should be using a stereo Jack (3 rings- L, R and GND)
