i find the modulate mode to be noisy, but i do love this pedal. getting a tap switch is worth it and im curious about an expression or if anyone makes a combo of some kind...
@JoelCaseyJonesMusic3 жыл бұрын
Your demos (and shnobels) are the best for any ambient pedals. You (both) know how to play beautiful riffs that actually show what a pedal can do. You helped me decide on the MXR reverb and I’ve been very pleased with it. (Shnobel helped me decide on the DD5). The combo is delightful. Cheers!

Thanks Joel! I appreciate you taking the time to comment (honoured to be put in a category with Shnobel, nerded out over many of his EHX shootouts haha!) Glad you're happy with your MXR, I love the unique reverbs on that thing.. Epic, Pad and Mod! Beautiful stuff!

Don't use many digital effects, and generally have limited delay needs, but have always felt this was one of Boss"s most utilitarian and cool pedals.You can do so much with this, from the commonplace to the completely whack, all in an easy to use format .Wish they would improve their basic buffer designs, but I guess it's part of what makes them distinctive.
@stk77782 жыл бұрын
please expand on buffer
@markferguson37452 жыл бұрын
@@stk7778 All Boss pedals are buffered, some better than others.The buffer alters the input and output impedance, and can have a powerful impact on the overall sound.They do also make buffers that have a less dramatic impact. Generally speaking, Drive and Fuzz circuits can be the most effected, thus the buffer is better placed after them.
@kilgoretrout321 Жыл бұрын
@@stk7778 Some feel that Boss buffers impart a trebly sound on a signal chain, and that it gets worse the more Boss pedals that are in the chain because the particular frequency gets multiplied or added or whatever (I know the basic info, not specific science-based explanations). However, Boss is generally considered a good buffer by knowledgeable pedal people. Wampler, JHS, and other pedal makers use Boss pedals and like them. In general, many recommend a buffer at the beginning and end of your pedalboard. Just bear in mind, the first buffer should be after wah and fuzz. The most dramatic example of why is how horrible fuzz face pedals sound after a buffer. Without buffers in your chain, your signal will lack brightness, and this muffling will increase the longer your cables are. But with a couple buffers, your signal sounds as bright as plugging straight into the amp. However, you can have too many buffers, or it's more accurate to say that you can have buffers that you don't personally like the sound of whereas someone else might love it. All that I do is have a tuner with a buffer (Peterson strobostomp) after my fuzz, and then my last pedal, a reverb, also has a buffer. In between, I have like 4 Boss pedals, and my two longer cables are only 10ft each, so my signal is clear AF.

@lardosian, hello , yes , have one with my synth, no problem, work very well ! I confirm with Jeremy Pritam Das , reverb is better with synthesizers ( have Boss RV6 and Strymon Blue Sky and sounds different but great !) Technical differences ( why sound is produced and routed to pedals) make big differences between how sound the DD7 with guitar or synth , uncomparable ! Cheers
