The flutter on El Cap is probably the Tape Crinkle. I didn't like it much either and dialled it completely out.- it's a secondary function so probably wouldn't have been obvious when running the test. As always, really enjoyed the video guys!

With the Arp-87, you need to turn dampen clockwise to brighten it up, so the Captain was actually keeping it dark for Rabea

Yes! It was killing me every time Rabbea mentioned the ARP was too dark when the Captain was oblivious that he was interpreting the Dampen knob incorectly. It's a cut knob. It needs to be put up full at the start and then trimmed back to taste. The Captain can't be expected to know all the knob nuances - but the ARP would have dared even better if he'd known. Regardless, the ARP showed itself amazingly. (Yes, the ARP is my main delay!)

I love the ambient delay thing, but there was one big problem with how the ARP87 was set up. I know it’s all personal preference but always have the x knob closeish to center and turn the dampen knob all the way to the right then bring it down until you like it. That’s how you get the best sound from that pedal.

While Dave Simpson is a very talented, charismatic guitar player, his perfectly logical vision of: "All you need is to learn how to play the song and play it well" didn't really inspire GAS hobbyists such as myself. This is such an epic series. Suggested evolution of the concept: create a price point league. Start with the current winning pedals and run through them again up against 5 comparable pedals at same or similar price points. This would be super helpful for consumers. Then you could run an ‘All Price’ final to make it interesting at the end. An Andertons Pedal World cup if you will.
