Thank you so much for this video mate. I bought a GX100 yesterday and of all the videos i've watched to try and work out how to get it set up yours is the best. The way you've ordered your presets and button assignments is exactly what i've been looking for. thanks also for putting your patches on the tone exchange! I bought this because the band i've just started, we want to play such a wide variety of songs that it was the only way i could get all the sounds i need and keeping them ordered and tidy like you have done is the only way. Thanks again!

Really appreciate this video and congrats! I love my GX-100 but as a hobbyist, I just haven't had the time to jump into making this thing work the way I want it to. So much potential in this thing and I just need to apply myself and learn it. Why are there so few videos about the GX-100 out there, when I do a search for YT vids, it seems that there is nothing. Liked, sub'd and turned notifications on hoping you will release some more videos using this unit. Your video was very inspiring for me, thanks.

A great comparison vid and explanation of the GX100. I've been thinking about getting one and I think I'm convinced! For use in 4 cable method with a live tube amp (and having all the modelling on tap as well)..
@tianjay7 ай бұрын
Thanks. I’m actually hoping to do an in depth 4 cable method video shortly showcasing the GX100 as a dedicated FX unit
@DmitriSkif7 ай бұрын
I'm struggling between BOSS GX-100 and classic MS-3 for the same reason. This tiny stompbox do the same for me (FX sections without amp modelling + amp control via relay port), but costs less and occupies smaller area. But GX-100 is a full-functional guitar processor with awesome AIRD amps. MS-3 not and can't be used without an amp.

great review. Currently torn between paying the extra and going for the GX-100 or the GP-200 by Valeton. Currently learning a set list which will use some of those Wah / octave type elements. 👍🏼
@JPG747Ай бұрын
What did you decide on? I sent my GP200 back and got the GX100 but to be honest I think I should have kept the Valeton, there was very little in it in terms of capability, but where the Valeton really scored was the software, just so easy and intuitive to use unlike BTS. The GX is a good choice if you have lots of time to invest in the complex stuff it can do, but its a deep rabbit hole! I Use mine as a pedalboard for this it is excellent, though the Valeton willmdo the same for less money.
@n3ssaya97212 сағат бұрын
What do you mean? The BTS is very straightforward.

Big fan of the GX and what it can do at this pricepoint. The only flaw I've seen so far is the annoying warble when downtuning a clean amp model to Eb. Not noticable with dirty amps though. IRs take a little tweaking, but do sound a bit better than the stock IRs. And yes, the flexibility in button assigns is amazing.
@tianjay7 ай бұрын
Yeah, Boss have never been know for great Pitch Shifting unfortunately..
@RMS12.27 ай бұрын
A gx owner here. Where do you find your IRs?
@tianjay7 ай бұрын
Actually I've bought a lot over the years of using many modellers. I initially bought the Redwirez Bigbox which has a really diverse range of IRs, but since I've bought some Ownhammer, York Audio, Amalgam.. there's so many great options, they all offer something different from a sonic perspective and it's just a matter of auditioning them to see what you like.. there's plenty of freely available IRs available too if you're not interested in purchasing them.
@CinemaKev247 ай бұрын
@@tianjay My first MultiFX was a Korg A5, around 1990, before getting into the Digitech RP stuff. The GX is my first dive into IRs. I just grabbed the free Celestian V30 IR. Similar to the free York, but sounds more open. The York is a closed Mesa 2x12, which will definitely appeal to the metal crowd.

Great video, and I've decided to buy one after seeing it.. still have a quick question: How do you program 2 sounds on 1 preset button? I been googling it but seem to be unable to find it :)
@tianjay3 ай бұрын
You do it by utilising the “Current Number” assignment which allows you to toggle up to 20 parameters within a single patch with the currently selected preset switch, so it’s easy to toggle between 2 amps all with different fx on or off.. This video that i did explains it and is probably a great one to get you started - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5e8mGidmc2Ib6Msi=biS1FmJfrWOJO_QG

Sadly your liveset does not load properly into the GX100 with firmware 2.02 it puts the 4 patches in separately so you cannot use switches 1-4 to cycle between them. I do like the GX100 as a pedalboard to select effects, but couldnt trust it in live use for anything else.
